The poem that comes with the winter shrine (info) is really lovely. And the winter shrine is the first event end reward that can be sold. I have to have a look if the others are sellable now too

Now that this event is over, I would first like to thank all those who sent me so many many berries and gems. However, this increased my return gems level to a horrendous number of 24 gamers. A situation which I cannot cope with, considering that I have regulars whom I would deprive of the gems in return they are expecting. On the other hand, many new players joined and obviously have realized quite late in the event, that it is really a must to have friends and exchange gems. May I suggest that all thosr meet in the thread devoted to gems exchange partners and build up their own round of friends. For my part, I will return the gems received from new comers and then go back to my faithfull regulars. I hope you understand that now even with 7 gems to distribute, i have to keep a number of friends ensuring at least a gem every 2nd or 3rd day.
As a wrap up to the winter event, in one of my lesser parks I was playing sporadically. Mainly to keep up the demand for berries in other parks, i deliberately did not turn in any berries at all during the event. At the end I received two snowflake dragons. But no habitat to put them in.

Wait so they skipped over all the other prizes and just gave you the two snowflakes? That's an interesting discovery.

That seems quite wrong...
You can buy the normal Snowflake Habitat for 1M DC if you have a habitat slot open though.

The habitat is not available for you to purchase in the market?
Wish I had known that. My aunt gave up on the event. Her only friend was the wizard, she did not get enough berries, and no Coal dragon either. 2weeks in, and she only had about 600 berries toward the 1st Snflake. She prefers cooking, and baking etc..over the dragons, I guess.

I got two snowflake pedestal, the theme, the crystalline snowflake and the shrine of winter. And some food. Not sure how many icebergs were there at the end. Have sent a ticket to BFS. But I just realised that park does not have a validated (or real) email address associated. Not sure if I can get a reply depends if they use the game email or the. One I sent from.

I didn't get the treat gifter in the end - would have really liked it - but I had already spent some real money getting ice berries as I was desperate for the 2nd dragon - btw can we breed them now ??
Nineteen dragons away from a full set - it's work in progress still !!

Please feel free to add me, I will send gems as often as I can:)
Last event, I had two parks with approximately the same amount of candies at the end of the event. The level 47 park got 1.2 million treats, the level 60 park got 3.5. I found it rather upseting, because I did the same amount of work in both parks wanting the same reward. This time I was prepared for the difference, even though my smaller park is now level 56, it still got quite a bit less.

In some ways it is MORE work in younger parks (i've got a lvl 36 and a lvl 60) Fewer gems. Dragons are not as leveled up so don't always get Gold in the Dragonarium. Less money for getting rid of the bigger obstacles (OTOH sometimes 60 parks don't have any obstacles to get rid of). In this time around, the smaller park was an advantage for finding Sinderklaus (sp). Fewer habitats so harder to get all the Collecting berries.
OTOH, somehow I manged to get to basically the same level in both parks this time. Despite spending money in the lvl 60 park and not in the small one. And the above mentioned difficulties.

Oh man, I already miss the event! I keep looking for a guy in a red suit and watch to see if I get any ice berries. Pavlov would love me!
POTM
And me too. Kind of. I don't miss watching the transporter rooms all day, but I did love the occasional glimpse of him strolling on an island. I wish BFS would continue that part of the game all year. Maybe Kloz could just wear the hat and season appropriate street clothes!
All I can say is it is A-W-E-S-O-M-E! Taking DV to a higher gaming exp.,
At my aunt's house, thought I would test it on her 46-inch Samsung HD TV.
I was re-reading this thread, looking for info on Snowflakes 3&4, when I saw this post, Buffy. Are you really able to play DV on a TV?? If so, please tell me how. I might even let my husband get that new tv he wants, if I can play DV on it!
This was done using my aunt's phone, Motorola Droid device. Using a HDMI cable, we connect the Micro-HDMI on the device to the HDMI on the TV.
What you see was set in a "mirror mode", and playing is done on the phone.
In the "web mode" the phone becomes the remote control. I guess, it is point and click.
Since the kids got excited and wanted to test some of their games, we let them, but also realized it was a bad idea. We stopped at the mirror mode, and did not explore further.
It is quite easy, like Viv said, you just need the correct accessories.

My dealings with bfs have been rare and always positive but I never got a "live person" response to my email of 12/25.... just the autoreply. Just today I finally contacted them again. I would really like my Friends list back. I expect I'll have to write off the 12 lost days of iceberries but the Friends is something I really miss now that we are just about back to normal play. Day after day my full gem tree sits there with no one to send them to.

Thanks, Buffy & Viv! I will talk to my resident electronic non-experts about all this. It would be so much fun to play DV on the TV, I'm thinking.

It is nice to view. We have experimented with this long ago. The weak point is that most TVs do not have touch screens....

In fact you control your tv through the IPad. I bought this accessory in order to show photos to my mother who suffers from macula. Thus she sees the pictures much better then on the IPad. In fact, you can open any app on the phone or pad and use it on your TV. Meaning, with an outside keyboard you can write letters, mail etc. very useful for people with eye problems.

If you decided on a TV, will you let us know who has won Sunday Night Football or DV?
