I think my biggest disappointment has to be Ovilith and the impossibility of breeding. He is the only one I have left.. and I tried hard for those entire weeks. I spent a good amount of gems, and bought more in an attempt. I really don't know that he was even ever breed-able after all. After 40+ epic fails, with 4 level 20 dragons (2 panlongs and 2 blooms) notta.. zip.. zilcho...
Did ANYONE have success?
On the plus side.. I have seasonal dragons for every season now to fill my habitats!...
I'm sorry you didn't get one. I bred Bloom (level 17 then 18) & Panlong (20) together in the EBI for a week and got one. It took 19 tries (and many long fails).
I will not believe it until I see the egg in my nursery.

NOOOOOOOO!!! I have bred the myth but cannot clear the goal!
Don't bother yourself Even if you could clear the goal now, maybe it would have shown up again next BEB. I have several goals that I definitely cleared more than once.

I was thinking that the goals icon would not disappear if there was a 'secret' goal still outstanding.
In my park1, the goals icon has disappeared, even though I know that I have not got the Ovalith goal in that park. So once I have got all the dragons, the goal icon should go in park2 as well.
I can only blame my woolly thinking on the severe head-cold plaguing me atm.

Smartphone park2: Geode, a dragon with rocks in! Still to breed 4 dragons...

In my second account I just managed to get the second Snowflake dragon 2 days before the event ended. Since then I bred constantly in both caves for Snowflake 3 and 4. I managed to get one single 3. I now have 22 pedestals of Snowflake 1, 17 of Snowflake 2, 4 Snowflake 1 dragons, 2 Snowflake 2 dragons and 1 Snowflake 3 dragon. Shortly before the BEB ended I got another 20 hour timer. It's now sitting in the nursery. I will see tomorrow morning if it is a 3 or the wanted 4. That's so thrilling !!!

I have a 20 hr breed in the Island with Sn3 and Sn4. I'm happy for either one, as I need +1 and pedestals. In my other park, the first Aurora is brewing. A successful evening's breeding.

I had two S1's and two S2's, so I put both 1's in the cave and both 2's on the island. Got a 20-hour timer on the island an another Aurora in the cave.
UPDATE: used a few gems to speed up the 20-hour, put them back in and got a 2-hr timer. Sped that up, put them back in again and got another 20-hr timer. Come on S3 and S4!!

It's a long wait, first 20 hours for breeding then 25 for incubation. But, at long last, Snoflake 4 pedestal! I have completed my dragons and pedestales for the winter event *happy dance* On the plus side, I got 4 Auroras while trying, and I happen to LOVE the looks of that dragon and its egg!!

I'm breeding Sn3 and Sn4 together, with the Winter event background. So far I have three 25 hr snowflakes in three tries. Perhaps the sky is helping?
I'm not sure, I kept the winter sky (love that one!) and got several Auroras, a few Sn1/2s, and one each of 3 and 4 since the event ended. Helping or not, it's going to stay in my park for a while

Welcome aejam, The most likely cause for missing the event is not getting an update from the App Store. The coal dragon was only available for three days and had to be gifted by a friend so if you missed playing a few days or have no active friends, that would explain that.
The event required changes to the game mechanics so you needed to update in order to be able to use the extra features that the event needed.
There are liely to be more events in the future, valentines, st Patrick's and Easter are all likely to get events so make sure you stay abreast of updates if you want to take part.
