Hey fletch, is the one vote for same combos for all gem dragons you? you seem a little out voted... But i guess we'll see in a week or so
Yep, that's me. All on my lonesome. But I will not rest until I get at least one more vote.
Sun and Moon are same breeding requirements. Rainbow and LYD are same breeding requirements. Surely all Gemstone Dragons will be same breeding requirements. C'mon people ... who's with me?!
The only difference is that those you mention have elemental requirement, but those can vary (4 element, cold and lightning). The Emerald was specific in which 2 dragons needed to be matched, and they seemed to symbolise the emerald. That makes me believe each gemstone will have a single combination which represents the stone. For a pearl e.g. lichen makes no sense at all (nor does crystal but meh).
Ooh I can't wait to find out
EDIT: You made me think about the elements, and now I kind of believe that all gemstone dragons will have the cold and lightning element, just to make them harder to breed.
I was reading the description again and something struck me: "Emerald dragons originate from the crystal forests hidden within the Sedna Mountains."
Crystal (duh) Forests (plant) in the mountains (earth and cold)
Ok so it's perhaps a long stretch but I can make out Crystal + Lichen out of this (cause we already has crystal explictly).
So maybe the Pearl dragon will have something like "they come from the kelp forests (seaweed) in the Stormy seas (storm)"

Yeah ... as I typed my post I realised the basic difference between them and breeding the Emerald Dragon that you elegantly point out. I almost typed as much, but I'm having too much fun being the underdog.
Nah, I dont believe they will make special elements requirements two breed the gemstone dragons. I mean twelve dragons, which all have to combine two set elements with two non set ones would be lame, wouldn't it? And they can't possible make it more difficult to get one --> 50 tries, no emerald
I am looking forward to Diamond Dragon and Peridot Dragon the most. Going to be fun!
Me too!!! I kinda wish some of these gem dragons were "regular" (not housed on gemstone island) dragons. Diamond Dragon would be killer in full form, no?

Different gems have different values. So why do most of you think their dragon counterparts will be worth the same? Particularly if you think they will be made from different dragons with different breeding times.
That theory with the hatching time being related to the number of days sounds convincing! Fletch_smf, well personally I don't think Backflip wants to inflate Gems (mostly because they still want to sell them) and anything less than one gem a week is just rediculusly low. Thus same earning rates like emerald.

Sure.
But I was actually referring to how much they cost to buy, how much XP you get when you breed one, and how much you get when you sell them.
Oh sorry! Completely misunderstood you there. I most definetly agree with you there. Can't imagen 12 dragons all with the same selling and exp rates. On another note - anyone has actually sold an emerald?!?

I wonder if the pearl dragon will have quake dragon in it, as pearls are created when some small piece of irritant (like a stone) gets inside the oyster....
"Do you have Instant Sanity? In the economy size box?"

I don't see the link with quake? Sandstorm is more likely, but most people think semi rares won't be involved. I'm thinking seaweed + storm atm.
I'm back to being 100% convinced it will be the same combination. Gemstone Dragons all have the same element. They'll all be made the same way.
1 week till I'm proved right. :-)
So you think the emerald dragon will be put back in the closet on June first, and the pearl released, no overlap between them? No problem that they are hard to come by and only 2 weeks for the emerald? If they leave the emerald in the game into some point in June, then we can add a 31 hr irritant to the mix.
If a dragon roars in a forrest and no one is around to hear, does it make a sound?

I can see no good reason that the Emerald would be available in June. That makes zero sense for a series of dragons that are based on the birthstone of the month. I understand that it's disappointing that we've only had 2 weeks to get it, but such is life. I believe they planned on releasing May 1st or so when Zakura disappeared, but had bugs or whatever they had to fix before it was game ready. So then they are left with the choice of shelving the Emerald Dragon for another 12 months and starting with the Pearl in June or giving us 2 weeks to get it. I'm happy they gave us the 2 weeks.
