Favourite Dragon 2015 - Air Dragons - Butterfly!

About 18 months ago (when there was only about 70 dragons in the game) we ran a series of polls to pick our favourites. Seems like we should do it again to see how things have changed.

There will be a series of polls to pick the favourites of the regular dragons and the epics and they will face off in the finals to pick the ultimate winner. You will get two votes in each category and there may be a number of finalists from each category, depending on how close the results are. Polls will be released in a staggered way so you're not overwhelmed but they will run for at least 4 days giving you plenty of time to have your say. And please have "your say". Post to tell us why you voted the way you did. Looks? Earnings? Personal connection or related story?

I haven't voted yet, because I'm not sure whom to vote for, but, not for the first time, I sm astonished how popular Willow is. My least favourite dragon, without a doubt. Hmm ... Maybe that should be the next poll ...

I have chosen Air and Rain. If you had included Kite, the choice may have been harder...


Air was my favourite elemental Dragon when I first started playing. I liked it because of the streamlined shape, and because it never lands. I named it Tinuviel.


I like Rain, again because of the flight, and it's gauzy diaphanous wings and tail. I also like it's startle reflex. I  reminds me of a koi carp.


I haven't chosen Butterfly because.... well, to be truthful the baby is ugly, and the adult is a bit garish for my tastes.

I'm also astonished about Willow, it's one of the ugliest dragons for me, too, but not the ugliest.
I voted for Rain - it always makes me smile with its round nose, it's likeable.

Willow isn't the best looking dragon, but the characterization is awesome I've always had a soft spot for that dragon.

However, Blazing and Meteor have always been my favorite looking, especially Blazing when it's young - so bird like. The Meteor looks like a cross between a bee and a duck. Ours are named 'Beeduck' and 'Duckbee'

Didn't choose a Limited for this one as there was only Butterfly and Liberty... and I'm not overly fond of either. I chose Rain, because she's pretty and Blizzard bc... I just adore Blizard. If I could be a dragon I'd be the majestic Blizad.

I love the wind dragon in both the baby and adult forms. In fact, I like it so much I have one of each out and it was a real struggle to decide which one to crown. I have to think about whether I have a second choice in this category.

Butterfly and Wind

Butterfly - because I tend to do one of these two things to insects

the truth is I am terrified of bugs/insects. Giant me vs. helpless little bugs, right?

the truth is I don't intend to harm living things...if you have seen the movie Seven Years in Tibet, the one scene where the monks carefully relocating the earth worms from the building site. I am like that so ever careful placing a bug on a sheet of paper, and bringing it outside.

But butterfly, the only insect, I would chase after, touch it, and stand still for it

Wind - If BFS ever plan to introduce a line of DV plushies, I would pick Wind. Like Wind's design overall.

Wind because it's so lovely. And Blazing because I simply adore it. The color, the shape... It must be one of my favorite dragons overall. And the first that I leveled up to higher levels because I liked it so much. It's a shame that I don't have it crowned yet.

Meteor and Wind.
I just love these two dragons. They are a couple of my most favorite dragons in the whole game.

After looking in the dragonarium, my second choice was either meteor or sonic. I chose sonic because I love the batness of this dragon. Definitely fun.

Butterfly & Wind

The wind dragon has a creative feminine design without having to resort to cliches like being pink.

This one was hard. Decided to go with Rain and Wind, though. I do also love the Blazing, Meteor and Butterfly dragons, but I chose Rain and Wind, mainly because I think they look really good and Rain was my first Water hybrid.

I think Wind is beautiful. The eyes, the colors, the mane, the tail, and it's movement. Love it! ;0)

I haven't looked at the Air dragons in detail in ages. I really like Wind, and Rain, and have since I first got them. Butterfly is cool with the way the wings have eye spots, but I prefer the other two.

Sandstorm made me so happy because it was my first opposite, and it looks so awesome.

Butterfly defends her 'Air Title' but not by much. Certainly not by the margin she won in the original field of 6. Again Air received votes this time when it was snubbed in the last vote. Perhaps we are not as won over by the flashy new dragons and we are returning to a simpler time. Ahh nostalgia.

I'm not sure what to do here with the voting so close. Should just Butterfly move on, or should Butterfly, Rain and Wind progress to the semis? Let me know what you think?

I definitely think wind should move on, but you can leave rain behind if you want.
