Nope. It disappeared right in front of me this morning. Found it quite easy, and sorta savor the moment when it puffed into empty space, emptiness! Still! No egg is found.
Do you think it's a little shy? Maybe I scared it? I did zoom in/out while looking at it, and thinking chocolate...
Interesting. Not on a portal, I assume? I guess visitors randomly disappear as well if they are unable to move to a portal. Thanks for the heads up.
I thought I'd share my quest strategy in case anyone else is interested in copying it. I got 40 eggs from a 13 hour quest this morning from. I started another and got 13 hours. I realized my best bet is to not finish that quest until tomorrow. I will get an easy 40 eggs before doubles end. I have decided that once I get my questing eggs for the day, if I get anything over 2 hours I will leave it for the next day. It appears that you get 2/4 eggs for a 2 hour quest and you get 20/40 for everything else. So this strategy should make it much easier to get my questing quota for the day. This strategy is especially good because so many people have reported not getting any eggs for the gems they spend speeding up a quest.
Very good idea.
For the record a couple of us have received max eggs on a 2 hour quest, but prepping and leaving a longer one seems like a good bet.

It wasn't on a portal.
Well, some of us prob have suspected that the egg disappeared and reappeared in our parks, but we just didn't catch in the act. I happened to.
Some friends touch your heart in a way that you can never erase.
So I finished a 24 hour quest at 8:30pm tonight and started a new one that is 18 hours. So should I try to speed it up before the double eggs are over or would I not get credit for the quest if I speed it up tomorrow?

We still haven't quite worked out how quests work yet, but my personal guess is that you will only get double eggs if you speed it up and finish it before doubles finish tomorrow.

I haven't figured out yet what is causing 2 hour quests so they can be avoided.
Sometimes the same quest is 2 hours and other times it is 3 hours or more.
I guess likewise it could work with longer times too that I've seen reported.
Like everything else in this game there is a random number generator driving it. BFS: give me a number between 1 and 100 Wizard: 73 BFS: (looks up cheat sheet). Ok that's 6 hours for the quest.
(7 hours later) Bfs: ok give me another number between 1 and a hundred Wizard: 22 BFS: that's 2 hours. Hang on what combo did they use? Wizard: the right one BFS: ok that just makes the cut. Better spin the other wheel. Wizard: 31 BFS: ok that's 4 hours.

You know how we were able to help others during the last few days of the event. Just a feeling, but I think it will be tight this time, at least for me.
Just looking at the first page it appears I've earned 2300 eggs in 5 days. Starting with a double weekend has certainly given us a good kick along to the rewards.
I've done 15 Quests so far, I'm pretty happy with the outcomes, 80k food (2x25, 3x10), 750k DC (5x150k) and 54M XP (4x6M and 1x30M).
5 of the quests have been in Mount Dumme, appears to be a favorite (1x2hr, 3x4hr and 1x24hr) L18 Sulfur dragon each time, so no idea how it's picking the times for them.
10k food for a 24hr quest and 25k for a 9hr, and 30M XP on a 2hr one. I think it's purely random.
Just got the habitat, with 359 over, trying to make the most of double weekend before going to bed. This early double weekend is nice, makes me wonder if BFS are doing it to make it easier to get full rewards (perhaps due to excessive FB complaints). My estimate of 280 (or 540) per day projects a ending total of 10k eggs, and I'm surpassing even that. Time to start saving my gems and obstacles...

On a random note, I can confirm that gems spent on speeding up quests do not give eggs anymore.
They definitely did on the first day, but it looks like they changed it.
Umm I just sped up a quest and received 40 eggs for the quest + 32 for the 16 gems I spent. I didn't earlier so i think it's some kind of random thing. Still not sure at this point.
Saw this on the Dragonvale Breeding Group FB page, and I can confirm this. Waited for the Egg reset, hatched a Winter dragon for 40 Eggs, Bronze Olympus for 40 eggs, and 5 Plant dragons, first 4 got me 4 eggs each.
-------------------------- FYI... Don't know if it'll work for you but last three days now I have gotten 96 eggs for selling/hatching eggs. After I get the first 80 I buy a plant egg & sell it & it gives me 4 eggs for it. It does this 4 extra times after the first 80. Giving me 16 extra eggs on double days, 8 on regular. It's a glitch obviously, so I dunno if it'll do that for u as well, but it's worth a try. Thought I'd let everyone know cuz who wouldn't love extra eggs, right? LOL LOL koala!

That's super weird.
The quest I sped up started on the previous day. Maybe that has something to do with it?
Snowflakes and Monoliths have the exact same earning rates last I checked.
Does anyone know if each Monolith Dragon has three elements assigned to it with monolith similar to how the Snowflake dragons were with three elements and snowflake?

I had already hatched extra eggs for no ... well ... eggs and it didn't work for me. So perhaps you need to do it immediately after you get to the "daily limit".

All of them have earth and water. The first one also has plant, the second one has fire, the third one has cold, and the fourth one has lightning.
