I found the egg and it was stationary. It appears to me to be about twice as large as an egg on a pedestal and was somewhat yellow in color - Koala to all
Looks like this:

And by the way... how do you change the picture listed to a dragon? And plant to something else? What about the number of eggs under my username? What's that all about?

Plant and the eggs refer to how many posts you have made on the forum. As you post more, you will up to earth, then fire etc. The staff get special eggs though.

Currently breeding for whatever twins I can possibly get my hands on
After looking at quest results here: dragonvale.wikia.com/wiki/Thread:1119932 it looks like quest results are determined by something... I'm thinking certain quests results in a certain amount of eggs...
My own results (all with level ten dragons and with dragons that match the quest elements exactly ie Brass for Mount Dumme):
3/12: Mount Dumme - 20 Eggs 3/13: Burning Winds, Northern Exposure, Stormy Way - 4 Eggs each; Mount Dumme - remaining 28 Eggs
Anyone else have data to share?

Not happy at all with this out-of-the-blue double weekend. I truly love this game, but I am just so annoyed right now. And with 3 limited dragons to breed for, it's more stressful than the soothing game it's meant to be. A question though: I collected all 40 treats last night. Am I able to collect another 40? (And does the same apply to eggs, coins etc?)
Breeding Target: Ovalith. It's ALWAYS Ovalith! Hoarded gems as a safety net to ensure an Ovalith during BEB, but I'm not sure if I want to spend them: I think I want the thrill of breeding it! Gems wasted on speeding up Ovalith breeding/incubation: 2890
For those with very full parks: The "hidden egg" is easier to find in Edit Path mode again. As with Gardenia & Santa, it stays full color while all your habitats and such are faded out.
Thank you so much. I went the last 2 events without being able to find Santa or Gardenia and was starting to think the egg was going to be the same this time around. I would have never found that egg without your advice.
I've been playing this game since just about the beginning and was starting to get disillusioned with it. If only I had found you guys sooner. I could have saved myself a lot of aggravation.
You're welcome, happy to help! This place is full of little tips for these events; it makes a big difference in the stress level over the game. And welcome to the forum too!

Welcome! I am positive I would not have continued with Dragonvale without this community of players to help me figure things out.
You must be very dedicated to the game to play without it for so long!
So I was going through my park for whatever number time it was since I don't remember and it was just sitting there where I had looked before and wasn't earlier.

So it definitely seems to move around.
When you close game and restart it? Yes. But once you game is open its position is set.

I collected more eggs from clearing obstacles and party hats. But those were the only two things I had maxed on. Maybe collectng habitats as well, but that's going to happen without thinking about it too much. I've sent off another quest to see if I can collect more from that task.

Theoretically, yes you can collect 40 more from treats. But it's extremely unlikely you will collect much more thanks to the diminishing returns. Same thing with collecting from habitats. Hatching, party hats, gem spending, and quests shouldn't be a problem though.
So I finally have been able to get back into the game after a full on reboot. It is running so much faster now
I actually enjoy looking for the easter egg. So far, it has been much easier for me to find compared to Sandakloz and Gardenia moving around the parks.

I don't have any concrete data thus far, but will keep better record and share my data starting Mar 14. Hopefully we can find a connection or pattern to these quests.

Thank you for confirming that.
As a note, if you go out and straight back in, it may not move. When trying to screenshot the egg the first time I saw it, I went to multitasking and then turned off my screen, twice. And the egg stayed put both times I reopened.

After nearly going blind looking through all my islands today, I was staring at a magic portal and saw the golden egg beam in!
