We are in the process of gradually changing over to the LED lights, they just don't glow the same way the old ones do. Still use the C-9's on the house. I remember when we were kids how people would go around stealing the bulbs as high as they could reach and finding lots of broken glass on the streets. That was a sad time. Yep, there are always those who don't care how much their fun costs others. Here's hoping you get well-behaved lookers this year.
No they don't but they are getting better over the years. They also cost so much more so we only change out so many a year but have been doing this for quite awhile so we are getting close. We use the C9's on the house too.
LOL Thanks Viv and everyone! Will hopefully avoid the alka-selzer today.
Edit: LOL at Saffy! I think you are right on LE!!! hahaha
Happy Thanksgiving to everyone celebrating today!!!

A delightful, loving wife. A beautiful, healthy baby boy. A fantastic DV Community of caring, talented, funny, and entertaining folks. The knowledge that when I stand before my creator it will be a day of rejoicing and homecoming because someone else already answered (with his blood) for all the awful, selfish, cruel things I've absolutely done.
Happy Thanksgiving to all who are celebrating today.
I am thankful For a loving wonderful husband 2 great daughters even though they kill me sometimes 3 adorable gran kids And a God who loves us and watches over us in spite of all the things Tommy has done! Lol. God Bless you Tommy.

Gt, wow! Where do store all that stuff?? Beautiful decorations. I've always wanted to ask, is your electric bill just enormous when you run all those lights? Your granddaughter is a real cutie!! Quite the ham! LOL!
Where is our Eternity? How was the camping trip? Did you make s'mores?
Hi Maidy! Your Eternity is rite here!!!
Camping trip was fun we made s'mores the first nite and it was really tasty!!! We had a 4mi hike, a total of 15ish miles, ouch I took a nap when I got home, I never take naps lol.
Im back, safe and sound, having a nice week to myself
My bf just asked what I'd like for Xmas... I'm tempted to say an iTunes Gift Voucher (just for Dragonvale). Do I have issues?! :/
Oh my! I have to say that I have not spent a single krona on DV to date and have still managed to get all dragons. What was his reaction to this bold request? Is he dragon his feet on the purchase? Is he trying to scale back from such purchases? Is... I am out of dragon puns.
It reminds me of one birthday I had where the guy I was with then asked me what I wanted. Earrings! On my birthday, he gave me some computer game. I don't play computer games and the box was too big to use for earrings. This was many years ago and I have subsequently traded that guy in for a better one who, to date, has never bought me a computer game for any reason!

LOL! Love your puns! Almost traded my husband in when shortly after we were first married, he gave me an iron for my birthday. He never made that mistake again! We will be celebrating our 45th anniversary in Jan.

45 Years! Yay for you, that is quite wonderful. My best friend had the same thoughts when her husband gave her a vacuum cleaner for Christmas. They will not make a 45th anniversary.
Some guys really really think that a very practical gift, such as a vacuum or pressure cooker or iron etc, does show a great deal of thought and care. He sat down and really thought through what kind of gift would be very useful, practical, appreciated, something to help her daily. The problem only arises when his wife is a practical thinker normally but not when it comes to gifts. Some folks (men and women) consider gifts to be above and beyond, somehow romantic, and that something impractical somehow makes a better gift. The really smart men (and women - some women think ties or white button-downs to make great gifts ("But he needed more dress shirts!")) learn to figure out of which sort his spouse is - practical gifts or romantic gifts. But you can show deep thoughtfulness either way. Dwell with her according to knowledge.
There's your free relationship moment for the day. Meow.

Definitely a matter of knowing one's spouse. In my friends' case it was their first Christmas. He's thinking they need a vacuum cleaner, she's thinking jewelry. To talking = poor gift choices.
Luckily both hubby and I are both practical people. One year I got a scroll saw for Christmas and nearly cried - for joy!
I don't mind practical gifts. There was no thought in the bread box. It was just easier. Something to get Christmas Eve. At any rate that isn't why I divorced him. He was an alcoholic and I had enough. The hubby now is great. One year for my birthday I got a set of boat props and was overjoyed. It is the thought that counts and if the item is actually useful to me.

That is true and very good advice. I have always been the type that enjoys the giving more than the receiving so I am happy with whatever I get. My hubby is the last minute type though that doesn't usually put much thought into gifts. So one year for my birthday, he forgot until last minute, then stopped at the local CVS on the way home. I received nail clippers, a loofah, bath salts (we don't even have a bathtub) and some hand lotion. My girls and I howled with laughter at each thing I pulled out of the bag. We still mercilessly tease hubby about that year. But, it was definitely memorable and makes me smile and the love guy all the more.

Haha, boat props! Sweet! We've been married 39 years, neither of us "needs" anything anymore so our gifts are usually something centered around something we enjoy doing together- like Geocaching. Or maybe a new tool to make working outside easier. I would love a box blade for the tractor....if hubby happens to read this thread. Not likely, lol, but I can dream.
