Great comments, Viviane. I wonder what future generations will think of our present day photos here in the U.S. as we all grin at the camera maniacally? We're evidently one happy group!

That is, if there are any present day photos, what with everything now being on digital media. If the media even survives any length of time, will they have devices able to read it and put it on a screen? Or will archeologists a thousand years from now posit that as a society we simply stopped taking pictures?
I can't watch hockey at all; not from the pub, or the arena, or the living room. The sadness is overwhelming, Pat. It's killing me!
I take it you aren't much inclined towards hockey?
I am the mother of three boys and spent the prime of my life freezing my a** off watching the game while my nose ran, my toes froze and I drank really bad arena hot chocolate. In the summer it was sweating at the soccer field, then football, then the unforgettable aroma of the basketball court. No, not a big fan of sports!
Lol! That was quite the picture you painted. This is why I'm glad I had girls. They were/are into theatre which is more entertaining to me than sports. My brief stint with being a sports mom was when one played softball one season and the year same child was a cheerleader. That was the worst because you had to go to all the sports. Ugh! I'm not a fan of sports.....but I like to ride bikes and I LOVE kayaking!

Somehow I read this as, "This is why I had girls." And I'm like, "They can do that?"

I also LOVE kayaking and all things water (I always get called a water baby because when I'm in the water, I never want to get out!). Tried water-skiing on holiday this last summer; it's a lot harder than it looks and my weak arms got tored quickly. My sister and I did theatre groups for years. I miss it; i love being on stage but would much rather being just singing on them.

I tried water skiing but it wasn't pretty. LOL! More like a water enema. LOL! My girls are better at it. Ah youth!

I don't see anyone had answered this, so just to let you know, if you have entered your correct birthday in your Profile, it will be listed in the birthday list on the home page and we will wish you a merry one.
Regarding the iPod dilemma, why do you only have to have one or the other? Why not both?
This is so strange because I tried to answer this and couldn't find it when I returned. Very odd.
The answer is that Eternity's birthday is currently on the calendar for December. Birthdays are automatically added to the calendar when a member registers. We did have problems with that feature being erratic over the summer so went to investigate whether the problem had returned, came back couldn't find the post so thought she had found her birthday on the calendar.
Sorry Eternity, didn't mean to ignore your question.

Not much different with the girls volleyball is a year around sport between school and club. I got tired of being broke...

Hmm...I dont see it.
Im December 10th. Incase you need to know.
It doesn't show on the calendar because you have your birthday set to hidden. Staff can see it, but hidden to members.

Tommy that is an interesting question. Considering the evolution of photography and the way we kept trace of the past, we had black and white very formal pictures (posing) taken on solid plaques and printed on solid cardboard, then we had black and white photos on negatives, quite small prints for the family, and borders cuts in zig zags. These are still ok in our photo albums. Then color pictures, and we all noted that the colors degrade over time. And finally digital pictures. The media to store these has evolved with time, diskettes, CD, hard disks. And evolution will go on. I have read about storage in hologram format which will be -in theory - readable eternally. Anyway, we have way too many pictured as it is do simple and cheap with a digital camera. Interesting to note that some people still print a lot, others just look at them on screen and maybe just print one or the other.
A quick update from me. We are close to being done decorating. We were waiting for some female/male ends to show up in the mail to finish making some extension cords that we need to finish everything off. They came yesterday so we will get the wire today and hopefully in the next couple days have it complete. The weather has been cooler here as well so I am frantically catching up on any gardening etc that has been put off due to the extreme hot and humid weather. Will post the link for video as soon as I have it. Hope everyone is doing well!
Hey GT, you make your own extension cords? Wow. How many days does it take you to get the house done? When we decorated the boat it would take 3-5 days and its much smaller than your property. Can't wait to see the pics!
Ok so I know this is a complete change of subject. I'm not sure if we have any fellow riders in the group but I'd thought I'd post some pics of a little project of mine
The bike started as a 2008 Harley Rocker-C
And here is a lot of money, beer, smashed fingers, and curse words later
Thanks for looking. Hope y'all like

Yeh..we started making some last year because it was really adding up to buy then and all the different sizes we would need. They are so simple to make. You wouldn't believe it. Just take the cord after cutting to the length you want and slide a female or male end on it and slide the cover on. Done. That way if you have say 10 things 2 feet apart you can put a female end every 2 feet and done. Not a million cords. I would say in reality it takes 10-14 days but we have to get a area setup. Drag everything out. Get it all out of boxes. Test everything. There are always incidentals. Sometimes they can be fixed, sometimes they can't. It's a process. Then we decide where things will go. Always after setting up and testing something else doesn't work. Sometimes it can be a nightmare. I think the only thing we have to do at this point is finish making the cords for the 10 small trees I have that go to the music. There are 2 colors on each of them so it is 20 cords that will have to be made and ran separately to their control box. Then we need to finish off our candy canes and as long as everything is still working I think it will be complete. Actually no, that is wrong..forgot hubby's 5 shooting stars. Ugh. lol There is probably more I'm forgetting. Some of it we like to move around and change up every year. I can't wait to show you. Wow..that is still some time to decorate the boat though.
