OK BFS, I get it. I have three 31+ Hour fails incubating, one 28 hour fail breeding, etc, etc, etc. You're making it harder to breed dragons, failures are much longer and dragons are available for short times. It's been admirably incremental, but you're now forcing players to buy gems if they want complete collections.

Like you, and many other friends on this forum, I have loved this game for years. Not so much since they introduced the Galaxy dragons. Not enjoying missing multiple limited dragons, and forget the idea of having a clear Dragonarium. Breeding continuously in all three spots should have an expectation of success and it's just no longer happening. Hope they balance the game a little better soon to bring back the fun.

Yeah, I'd really like to know what's going on lately. In trying for the Ruby, I got 48 hour fail in both the island and cave. Tried a second time in each, and got a 48 hour fail AGAIN in both! A friend put his Chrome into the shared breeding cave, and I had a 3rd Scorch, so thought I'd give it a try there....AGAIN, a 48 hour fail!!! That's FIVE EPIC FAILS IN A ROW, in all 3 breeding areas! I'm one who hates when games make it too easy, but this is ridiculous.
I saw this problem brewing with the Elysium. I tried at least 30 times with a friend's Ely in the coop, and came up empty. Very, very frustrating, and not I'm sure how much longer I'm gonna stick with it.
The one thing I am surprised at is how people are expecting completeness. I think BFS are making dragons harder to get for a good reason; too many of us just expect to get them. Personally I see it as a real success IF I get a dragon, some people regard it as a failure if they don't. Wish I had success rates like you guys. Now, other reasons, like their previous event spam; that's what puts me off this game.
People who complain about lacking completedness, this is all I'm gonna say: Games aren't fun when there is no goal anymore. Constantly adding easy to get goals is silly and worthless. So BFS added dragons that you wouldn't get when they were first released - next time there is a BEB, you'll have something to work towards. Games become boring once your done with them, therefore there are updates. Do you really enjoy it when you have a smoking dragonarium for two months? With no real aim? If you do enjoy that, then why do you enjoy that? There is no fun at having beaten a game into submission. There IS fun in achieving a difficult goal, and working towards completing a larger goal.
No disrespect meant.

These are excellent points, and I agree with all of this. I don't mind lots of fails, and even an occasional epic fail. I also don't think it should be easy to get a limited, epic, or gemstone dragon. But five 48 hour fails in a row? That just means there's not much for me to do in the game for very long stretches of time, and I can't imagine that's what the developers intented.

Which would be just fine and dandy had the last two limiteds not used Dream as a part of a locked combo. I don't mind not having everything immediately. I don't mind spending a few gems to breed what I want.
I do mind having short windows of time to breed a dragon with a very small breed chance and a chance at getting every single available dragon as a fail.
BFS is not doing it because we want a challenge. They are doing it to make more money on gem purchases and to push players to use the CBC.
I really don't see many people complaining about having nothing to do. There are tons of long term goals that people set for themselves that don't involve getting the newest dragon that comes out immediately.

I like having goals, even/especially goals that take a little skill or cleverness or persistence. I agree with piznoepicfails, though, that I'm having less frequent reasons to check on my dragons than ever before. This may be a good thing - for my other interests. There's probably some study that shows that many players will just take up more/other games to fill in the blank spaces, but I'm a one-game girl, not interested on becoming addicted to others, so I will stay with DV but give it less of my time.

Valid points. Not saying I want it to be easy, just attainable. Missing 1 limited dragon might not be an issue, but am on the verge of missing a second in a row, plus took forever to get my first bred Galaxy, still have not even one of all the original Galaxies before 2 more were released.
9 New dragons released in the past 2 months. One was a freebie beginner Galaxy, so out of those 8 left have only bred 2 new dragons in 2 months and none of the limiteds at all. That does not equal fun to me. Extremely bad luck - perhaps.

This saddens me. Although I loved the advent of the Galactics, I have had a number of times in the last year, when I struggled to keep from throwing in the towel. Each time a valued player walks away, it is harder to stay.
BFS: Do you understand the law of unintended consequences? Though many of us think we are leaders, the vast majority of us are followers. And it is very much easier to walk away as a group than as individuals. The more that leave this game, the more that are likely to leave.
You should rethink your game strategy before your gamers bleed away. Drip drip drip
Here are some other goals that I am pursuing other than trying to collect all dragons. - Trying to crown all non-epic dragons to Level 20 (I think there are 144 dragons to be crowned at the moment) - At Park 2, I am trying to get all hybrid (other than opposite) and epic egg pedastals by fails. - At Park 3, the majority of my hybrid and epic dragons are obtained by fails. I never bred permanent epic dragons intentionally other than cloning.
I am pretty sure that many of you have your own goals other than collecting all the dragons available.
It seems like I have an unpopular opinion, but I really like the current model. I don't feel the short timers are a problem as the co-op cave's existence makes timers for epic dragons largely irrelevant. As long as you know someone who has that dragon, it will always be available. And since we haven't had a new limited dragon that isn't epic in quite some time, it's meant that you can take your time to get any other dragons you're missing. None of the new dragons are actually going anywhere. It's an advantage of being part of a community like this: even if none of your friends have your target up for co-op, you can just ask and someone will put it up for you.
...of course, it's a bit different for the poor android players. I can see the problems they'd have with it. If I had to go through Facebook for this I would be considering quitting too. As it is the only time this year I've felt like that was during the back-to-back events phase. If it's a case of one or the other, this or that, I know which I'd pick. Having said all of that, I would very much appreciate a hatchery expansion. I've largely not been using the original cave due to the space problems. So improvements can be made.
I think newer players are more tolerant of the changes. Those of us who have been playing for 3+ years are used to the benevolence and lack of greed on pthe part of BFS: you could play the game and aspire to completeness without spending a lot of gems. That is obviously no longer possible and it's a big change for those of us who were used to playing with certain goals. I don't begrudge Hasbro as it's a for profit business. I just don't care to adapt - perhaps I'm spoiled by the wonderful way BFS handled things over a long period of time.
There's no reason everyone has to agree with me and I hope everyone else has a lot of fun.

Right now, in my first park's nursery are these Delirium fails: Cyclops, Snowy Olympus Gold, Bronze, Seasonal. All three breeding sites contain 24-48 hour somethings. There was a time when that would have been considered impossibly good fortune. The paradigm has certainly shifted.
I agree that there is probably a difference between how the veteran players feel and the newer players. I've been playing for a year and I've never entertained the hope of filling up my dragonarium or getting 2 plus an egg or completing the goals in the list they give. It's just too big of a game and that's what I like about it. Everyone can go toward their own goals; there's nothing you HAVE to do like other games (battles with your neighbors etc). I don't want to complete the game because I haven't found another game that offers the simple play, easy tutorials, events for prizes the way this one does. That being said, I had some wait time yesterday and because I was less than a million from island #12, I toured some friends parks collecting cash from party hats.; something I haven't done in a long time! What beautiful parks we make! Obviously a lot of care goes into the parks so I enjoyed seeing them. I also noticed A LOT of us are holding on to uncleared islands anticipating an upcoming event. I too, am ready to do a little rearranging and creating space for the twins that have come along. Hopefully soon as I really don't have the discipline to stare at an uncleared island for long.
I consider myself a veteran player. Though of course not since the beginning of the game. I started in November 2012, shortly after the first anniversary. I prefer the current pace of the game. Yes, there have been some long fails. But I can log on once or twice a day and don't have to panic for missing dragons because they will still be available through the co-op. Sure I don't have all the Galaxies yet, But I have most of them (even 3 in my smaller park that is farther from getting all the dragons)
I was getting bored of having a full Dragonarium, a fast rush for a new dragon, and then a full Dragonarium. I prefer at least having a few things to work on. I'm even getting ready and anxious for another event (I'm holding off clearing islands/creating bigger habitats, etc so the gems can potentially give me double good In the next event! But with the new levels and new habitats, things are starting to get a bit crowded!)

Am sure possibly missing 2 limiteds in a row is coloring my current mood with the game. The repeated long fails and lack of success with the limited dragons tends to grate on a person. It took people forever to get their first Rainbow dragon when it came out. It was rare and we knew it could take time to get, but it also wasn't limited. Know they will still be available through coop breeding, but my game play style would like to get one the old fashioned way within the time limit. Have never needed to wait for a BEB in the past, and am not inclined to start down that path. It just doesn't feel right to me after all these years. The game has evolved and I still feel like homo neanderthal.
Should a Delerium show up before the timer runs out, my disposition may improve.

I got my Delerium in my "Ancient" park the old-fashioned away and in my new park through Co-Op breeding (due to not having a Dream yet.)
The Elyrium in the ancient park came through Co-op breeding after the timer expired and I don't think I have one in my new park. (don't remember for sure) Still want an egg in the Ancient park.
