Woo hoo!! I got a Flower as a Delirium fail! I was so excited to see that short fail time that I actually spent gems to clear the breeding island. Not to worry. It was quickly replaced by a 24 hour breed so everything is back to normal and I can resume growing peppers and whining.
(eta: That sounds mean coming after Cecilia's congratulatory post to Pixie. It wasn't intended to be sequential; I wrote before I saw Cecilia's. And congratulations are indeed in order, Pixie! Hooray!!)

I think you are selling a pup. I've been to San Fransisco. There are no bridges coloured gold there. I do remember one coloured a rusty red. Maybe you are getting confused.
Didn't say it was gold, said it was Golden, and for the amount of tax money poured into it it could be gold-plated! Just wanted to make sure all of the non-Yank board members got the reference.
Teehee, hee, hee, giggle.......Guess what? Teehee.....Got a Deli today!!!!
I'm so happy for you Pixie! After such patience, you certainly deserve this delirious reward.
Cecilia at the Duckpond
Thank you Cecilia! The patience part was getting pretty strained. My park used to be fairly lucky, not so much the type that gets a new dragon the first breeding, but never actually missing dragons before.

Congrats on the short fail, so funny to be excited to get a Flower dragon. Sorry it want right back to the long follow up fail.
Understand about the whining and food production comment, and fully understand the frustration. Much koala being sent to you. Hope you have a happier day soon.
In the meantime I do find that a little civil disobedience always goes a long way to bringing fairness back to a situation.
And what better way to organise an uprising than in a community of like-minded people?
I have been needing to scale back from my involvement in the game, and I find that the changes suit me rather well. I'm still lacking Delirium, Elysium, Sorarian, Arcturian, Antarian, as well as the two new galaxy dragons though, so I find myself on the brink.
There's probably a fine line between being relaxed about the game and just not caring any more. The changes that BFS has implemented seem to have switched things up a little too quickly and without warning, and it's perhaps this abrupt turnabout that leaves a bitter taste in the mouths of many players. When I first started playing DragonVale (July 2012 I believe), I definitely didn't seek to complete the full collection of dragons. It seemed too difficult an endeavour. But eventually, after getting a Moon out of nowhere, I slowly expanded my goals to collecting all the dragons, and then after joining the forum, all the egg pedestals as well. This is probably how newer players approach it right now, with a gradual shift in goals and priorities. But I think that the sudden release of limited dragons that are so difficult to breed is forcing this sudden shift and not in a subtle way at all, which is why many of us are feeling rather jaded about the game at this point. Perhaps this is just the adjustment phase for some, but it's hard to tell.
I believe it was July 2013, you joined the forum because of the Light/Dark event. I remember this guy, out of no where, joined the forum and started yapping, and not even bother to post a proper intro
Some friends touch your heart in a way that you can never erase.
Jamesvaler: what a great debate you started. I go to the movies more than I buy gems. I only have so much money and I save it for fabric. Yes I sew/quilt. I am in my park 3 times a day, at breakfast before going to work, at lunch time and at the end of the day, meaning after dinner is over and the kitchen is cleaned up.

Ah, but I'd been playing since 2012 (I checked ). I found the forum some point later, lurked a bit, built up a lot of things to say before I actually made my first post and opened up the floodgates. Apparently they haven't been closed since!
Interesting debate, but I have no time to answer every post. So: I think it's worse to have all the dragons than to not. It's a great game, but when I complete it, I'll be bored until the next update. Having active goals is fun! Veteran players expect easy breeding, but personally I prefer the hard to get dragons. And short time periods is an excuse in my opinion. With the co-op Cave here, ever dragon other than the gemstones (which have at least 28 days to breed) can be bred. So not being able to get the dragon because it was only here for a week is finally solved.
Furthermore, if the only enjoyment you find in the game is success in breeding a dragon then I pity you. Because that is boring. I hated the everlasting events because it felt like I was forced to waste A LOT of time on the game. It was meant to be a simple game, events made it far too annoyingly tedious and complicated. The beauty if the game are the graphics and the simplicity, and what gives me happiness is achieving ANY goal, from crowning a dragon, to levelling up one dragon, to buying an island.
Fianlly I think that this community has become more demanding of the game. Long ago are the days of the relaxed soaking up of the fails, and the breeds and the updates. Now everything has to be PERFECT to accommodate everyone's wishes.
Wishing everyone a new source of enjoyment in the game. Jv
No longer active on DragonVale! *briefly back online*

So Fletch... you really believe that a large multinational corporation would buy a company with some of the most downloaded apps on the web and then be completely hands off with no meddling or expectations? If so then I have this spectacular bridge I would like to sell you! It is Golden and some people like to think it is the Gate into San Francisco. I got a great deal on it and am willing to pass the savings along to you! I know you Aussie's are dealing with your own drought but you never know when a flood will happen and this bridge could come in handy. You will have to move it. Let me know.
P.S. Thanks for the gems but you know you're not supposed to be doing that! Send those to players who missed out on and are saving up for things like the Lost Island, the Twilight Tower, the Dragonsai Bush, etc. Maybe we should start a list.

What is it with you and bridges? You did not like the one I had for sale either.
For the first time since February of 2013, I did not manage to breed a limited dragon in the time allotted.
Neither did any of my friends, so the Coop is not an option for me yet either.
Not that this is the first time something like this has happened to me...
I joined the game in January 2013 just as the first BEB was winding down... I literally managed to miss out on EVERY single one of the 28 limited dragons that had been released up until that point. After BEB was over, I spent the rest of January trying desperately to breed the Smoke and Obsidian Dragons just so that I could actually try for my first ever Gem Dragon, Garnet. This is back when those were both "Uncommon" dragons and you only had at best a 25% chance of breeding one with any valid combo.
I powered my way to level 16, but no matter how hard I tried, the month ended with me still needing that elusive Smoke Dragon...
It was nine long moths before I could tray again. During that time I wrote the first iteration of The DragonVale Monthly Forecast so that I could keep track of when those pesky limited dragons would be returning!
And now Delirium has done it to me again!
For the time being, this dragon is completely unobtainable for me...
And I'm perfectly fine with that
Just means I have something to look forward to in five short months.
Though the epic fails will be even WORSE during BEB...

That's not right. The problem is only solved for EPIC limited dragons. If we will get another short time for a limited dragon which is not epic and you won't get it in that short time, even the coop cave won't solve that problem.
But to all other points I agree

really? I thought that you don't have to clone. aka if I have a butterfly dragon but you don't, then cant you get one?
No longer active on DragonVale! *briefly back online*
No I can't. You need two Butterflies to breed another one if it has expired. But now you only need ONE to be able to clone it later with a friends' Butterfly.
EPIC limiteds when out of season can be bred with only one parent being that limited, non epics not.

Bloodstone, I am sorry to hear about the Dellie. I have not been able to get Ellie, and probably it's gone or will be. This will mean, I will not get the "smoke up the chimney", as I always use to have. This is bad .... I do not know what to do...

Bloodstone, I managed to get one in one of my parks. If you need a friend for the co-op I'm happy to help. (See below)
Does anyone have any evidence that version 3.0 of the game is due to Hasbro meddling as opposed to BFS continuously working to keep the game new and fresh? I just don't see outside fingerprints on anything.
Does anyone have any evidence that version 3.0 of the game is due to Hasbro meddling as opposed to BFS continuously working to keep the game new and fresh? I just don't see outside fingerprints on anything.
Old news, I think you will find partial answer to your question here.
I often wondered how much money/stocks did Hasbro shell out for BFS, now I know.
Thanks for the link. And it reiterates my point. Hasbro expanded into the mobile game market, not because they wanted to micro manage DragonVale but because they want to build more games based on brands they own and reverse engineer other types of games and merchandise from BFS products. I am surprised that in the 2 years since the deal we have only seen T-Shirts.
It's the generality of "Hasbro has ruined the game" that I find frustrating. What do people think Hasbro has done? Because what I see is BFS continually listening to customers and adding new innovations to the game. Twin dragons were first mentioned in the BFS thread in May 2012, and the ability to gift dragons to other players has been a request as old as the game itself. Now both of those things exist. The short breeding window for limited epics is a way of moving those two aspects of the game forward requiring breeding in the CBC. Not enough hatchery slots at the moment, so stop breeding in the normal cave. And I certainly don't see how having a back log in the hatchery is making people check the game less. I still get multiple notifications a day saying a breeding/incubation has finished. I just don't see any evidence to support the claims being made.
Would more nursery slots be good? Yes. I think. But what effect on game play would an increase of 50% on hatching dragons make? Maybe a negative one. But I think it is one they will need to move towards with so many long fail times now. Maybe they are timing it's release for something. Maybe they are working on bugs. Who knows. All I know is they have added lots of good things to the game and taken away nothing. And people need no excuse to spend a lot of gems to speed up breeding. They have been doing it since day 1. That's why we are here at day 1200+ and still playing. And not so much with the Gizmonauts.
