Quick note that my dragon quest got me no tickets as I'd already maxed out. I don't think the colosseum or quest tickets are saveable
Yes it looks like the only saveable tickets are friend gifts and whatever event game was running when you hit the limit.

I think that we are not able to use the challenge or game tents if we are already maxed out. I wouldn't want to miss the chance of playing the 5 games every day. I can try to win gems, or have some fun guessing the dragon.

I think if we have a double weekend it will the start at the time of reset, so it would make no difference to wait or not. In fact I cannot collect anything else right now. When I'm able to collect again, if we have doubles, I would be collecting doubles. At least I think it will work like that.
We should still hold off on sending gifts though. That's the one thing that doesn't reset with the event.
It would sure help our friends, but it's not really essential, because there are many other ways to get tickets. And I won't be accumulating friends' gifts, otherwise I will start having crashes in my social menu.

Personally I like having ideas of what to do if I come up short. But I find I prefer to do a variety of things to get to 500 tickets.

This looks like a really fun event. But AGAIN it's starting when I'm off away with no wifi for a long weekend! Whyyyyy does this always happen? I swear it's every singe event! Haha. koala though everyone x

My experience today has been quite underwhelming to be honest. I set my alarmed at 2am (my time) to get an early start. After collecting everything, and selling/hatching dragons, and played the games, completed the colosseum activated Kairos, I went back to bed with nearly half of the limit met. The next morning, after another round of collection, I had met the limit.
That we can store the tickets from friends for tomorrow's collection meant that I have less things to collect each consecutive day no?
I love the fact it looks like BFS are giving new players a chance at getting limited dragons they may have missed. Could this be replacing BEB?
I may not clear my island... or at least leave it until towards the end of the event in case things change. I feel there are so many ways to collect tickets it may be worth saving it for another event.
I get the impression the plan is to hold a summer faire every year. If so, bring it on, I love it!!
I have been thinking cooperative breeding may replace BEB. (Though you cannot get ALL Dragons that way.) But a combination of coop breeding and Faires... This Christmas will tell.
I am clearing islands. But partly because I desperately need the space. I'd been holding off getting an island just wanting to save the obstacles for double duty (An event).
I think that "banking" tickets for the next day will only be possible for the one action you do when you go over the daily limit. If you are close to the limit and end a competition in the event tent the tickets that are to much are put in your gift lists and you get a notice that you have reached the daily top. All following actions won't give tickets anymore till the next event day.
I really love this event. Seems to be possible to take it very relaxing.
Maybe. I ended a race this morning and was at max (Though the Faire had reset and discovered it had not when it said I was maxed out). The tickets did NOT go to my social menu.

Clearly, you have to keep the community apprised of your travel plans so we can better plan for future events

Totally confused ! Have been reading thru the forum avidly and think i understand what we need to do and within 15 min of entering game i am totally flummoxed ....as usual!! It always takes me sooo long to understand what strategies you all have figured out! Here is what happened: Have 596 tickets upon entering the game this morning (so i did not get max i could have yesterday) Tap on a finished kairos ..get 2 tickets for completing quest Hatch 2 dragons for 40 tickets (20+20) Empty full habitats (not sure how many tickets this netted me but obviously not very many) and food (get 2 tickets) Click on completed event up on faire island (which i started before bed last night) and i receive 100 tickets for "fireworks challenge" Suddenly a pop-up tells me i have completed the max and they are stowing 94! tickets for me in the social menu (which i check and they are) ...and that i need to wait for approx 4hrs to accumulate any more tickets .... My ticket total has gone from the original 596 to a whopping 650 .... OMGosh! I only collected 54 tickets (and the stowed 94) and i am done? Did not click on any visitors w/banners, have collected no gifts from buddies, have not completed colosseum yet today, have not visited anyone...etc What should i have done upon entering game? I had read jamesvaler's very helpful post on what to do and also several other good and informative posts and thought i knew what to do but obviously i did not becuz 54 tickets is a pitiful showing for a visit when i need to get 650+ for the total day... Help please! i am seriously missing something here! Thanks! :0)

Incidentally I reached 660 before I hit the cap in one park. Not sure how. the one time tutorial reward explains 150, but there are another 10 I can't explain.
On page 12 micheseid shared that there were 10 missing from her park ... So you found them!

It's because you were still working on yesterday's total. The game resets in 2.5 hours.... 10:00 PST, 11:00 BFS time; there's a lot of timers running on the event island, you can always check there for reset times.
My hubby has a friend on iOS that is sharing their Midday dragon in the co-op. Does anyone have ideas on what to breed with Midday to get another Midday? I thought there might be a thread already created for Midday and I missed it. TIA
Make sure you get 500 tickets from the above methods. Then, and only then collect tickets from the following methods: Colosseum, Kairos Quests, Friends' gifts, Tent Challenges, Name that dragon (NTD) or the wheel of chance (WOC (not to be confused with world of colour, disney's pyro musical)), The Wishing Well.
I can now confirm that we do not receive banked tickets in the Gifts tab for the Colosseum or Kairos Quests after the daily cap. In addition, if you have reached the daily cap, you are not even allowed to start any of the challenges or games. So it looks like the only way to bank tickets is to 1) start the Challenge Tent before you have hit the max and collect after, and 2) leave your friend gifts uncollected until you've hit the cap.
I have only seen two payouts from the Challenge Tent: 50 tickets and 100 tickets (anybody else had different?), so ticket banking would appear to be limited to these amounts plus 5 each from uncollected friend gifts. And I think it might be too risky to bank too many gifts due to the various issues we've seen in the past.

Hey jamesvaler, I'm wondering about the possible 795 maximum that you've surmised, but I'm not too sure that'll be how it works. I didn't get any tickets from the colosseum after I'd hit my 500 max for the day, not even in my Social menu. It looks like all those tasks (including friend gifts) you mention are also limited to the 500 maximum, with only the special event games that can yield extra tickets which will be stashed in the Social menu.
Perhaps in order to surpass the 500-ticket daily limit, we'll need to not collect any tickets from our Social menus, by collecting our gems and treats only after we've reached the daily limit. We should also only do the event games after we hit the limit, so that the extra tickets will go to the Social menu. This would get the game to accumulate these extra tickets and carry them forward until the end of the event. But then again, we've seen how some players' devices act when there're too many gifts in the Social menu, so that's a little risky.
One possibility I foresee is that the game might collect whatever tickets we've got in the Social menu at each reset, but we'll have to wait and see about this.
Oh, I didn't realise that the colosseum didn't work. I assumed it did as the other "timed" ticket earning tasks did store tickets. However, you cannot start a quest once you've reached your max, so you have to start quests before you reach your max of 500! And yes, collecting from the social menu will only yield a benefit if collected in the 6 extra days after the event ends. I assume you will be able to cash these in, as you can always cash in bough tickets too, and I doubt the game can tell the difference between bought and non-bought gems.

Why not? You are allowed to buy tickets, which obviously you can redeem, and I don't think the game can tell the difference between bought and non bought tickets.
Wait a minute...did dragons always turn transparent when editing paths? I thought they remained solid when doing so. Do I have a horrible memory?

Something else I just noticed (not sure if it's new or if I'm just unobservant): when you collect party hats in a friend's park, the dragons in the collected habitat all celebrate

The in-game help system talks about "random double days" Not weekends. Not saying they won't be weekends but they are leaving their options open.
So... could the solution be as simple as logging in at reset? (And playing like hell, maxing out, and disappearing till next reset?)
Unless they start doubles at a different time than reset!
