Make sure you get 500 tickets from the above methods. Then, and only then collect tickets from the following methods: Colosseum, Kairos Quests, Friends' gifts, Tent Challenges, Name that dragon (NTD) or the wheel of chance (WOC (not to be confused with world of colour, disney's pyro musical)), The Wishing Well.
I can now confirm that we do not receive banked tickets in the Gifts tab for the Colosseum or Kairos Quests after the daily cap. In addition, if you have reached the daily cap, you are not even allowed to start any of the challenges or games. So it looks like the only way to bank tickets is to 1) start the Challenge Tent before you have hit the max and collect after, and 2) leave your friend gifts uncollected until you've hit the cap.
I have only seen two payouts from the Challenge Tent: 50 tickets and 100 tickets (anybody else had different?), so ticket banking would appear to be limited to these amounts plus 5 each from uncollected friend gifts. And I think it might be too risky to bank too many gifts due to the various issues we've seen in the past.
I have changed my post to read as above. I thought I made it clear to start the challenge tent BEFORE reaching the max. If not oh well. Ignroing friends (there is no need to stockpile these, just use them to make the 500 cap easier to reach) you can get 100 from the challenge tent and a maximum of 200 from the wheel of chance. However, as Fletch says, in 6 days (the event actually ends on the 22nd fletch, they always say through a date, and the event ends a day later), you can only cash in 3000 tickets anyway. So there is no need to get 300 a day anyway. Therefore I suggest taking the safe option of name that dragon and getting 75 plus either 50 or 100 tickets from the challenges tent. This can get 100-200 stockpiled tickets. I suggest to NOT stock pile friends treats until the last few days due to social tab issues that we have seen in the past. Koala

Something else I just noticed (not sure if it's new or if I'm just unobservant): when you collect party hats in a friend's park, the dragons in the collected habitat all celebrate
Ok, THAT I had to go see; I thought maybe you'd gone round the bend, Skitch; too much of the ye ol' fun at the faire. I had never seen that before! Apologies for my brief questioning of your sanity.

I think it's possible to stock pile the tickets from gifts without stock piling the gems and treats themselves by only collecting after hitting the daily limit. But whether that will still cause issues in the Social menu remains to be seen...

Hate to break this to you....but you, both, need to get corrective eye device(s) if you are not wearing ones already, please get new ones
Some friends touch your heart in a way that you can never erase.
Why not? You are allowed to buy tickets, which obviously you can redeem, and I don't think the game can tell the difference between bought and non bought tickets.
Except the game can, somehow. NOW, with a cap of 500 tickets, it will allow you to buy more than 500 tickets (more than the cap). I have no problem believing they can, at the end, allow you to keep buying tickets while turning off the ability to collect new tickets. (Yes even from the social menu. After all, NOW they let you buy tickets when you cannot collect new tickets from your social menu.)

That doesn't necessarily mean it can tell the difference between the two, it just means that BFS have put in place a way for buying tickets to bypass the cap... But I believe you must be right. My gut still says we will cash extras, otherwise it's a waste if so many dragon challenges.

All I can say, where are the twins when you want them? Congratulations, glad I could help. It was a helping sort of day. I spent the day helping wapatango, both with RL and DV, now time to catch up and see what I can learn from the forum.
I don't know the result til the morning. Keeping my fingers crossed for 2!

Lol ... I went to one of my parks; the little ghosts did something different, so did the 2 apocalypse dragons. I'll stick with Skitch and by the way my tankard is empty again!

So you're saying you don't see them dancing and carousing when you collect party hats? I certainly agree that corrective eye devices are called for in this situation!

My question is about uncollected gifts in the Social menu. I've read that some players had problems with their devices in the past when they let a lot of gifts accumulate. How many uncollected gifts might cause a problem? In the past my game wouldn't play because I had 2000 gems accumulated. TIA
As I said before, where are the twins when you want them? I know I'll get my Jasper eventually, along with Delirium and Procyon, until then I'll just have to practice my patience, but I'm glad I could help you get yours.

I have some bad news... this is not a new feature...

Speaking of twins, did you get the twin Bizurian I sent you a few days ago rulilind. I forgot to ask while you were here...I wonder why?!
I love my vine dragon avatar created by ElektronX. Now, if only BFS would add it to the game...

2000 gems! No wonder you had problems. It really depends on everyone's devices and situations. It is hard to say, but over a hundred is never a good idea, same with twin dragons. Again, I stress it depends on the device. Some devices crash without any stored gems or twins, some will continue to run over a thousand, as yours seemed to! Many people have had no problems storing 50 twins, but loads of others have had problems....

Wow. That's a lot of gems. What kind of hardware (phone, tablet) did you play on when that happened?
Flag bearers pop up twice a day. I think they will reappear 12 hours after you found them the first time, and then hopefully when the tickets reset at 11am BFS time. You get 25 tickets each time, so 100 tickets just for clicking on them, assuming you haven't maxed out for the day.
I looked at my main playground and caught a sigt of a little man with a red flag. Couldn't help tapping on it. It said 500 ... But of course stupid. I already have my 650. Now I know they excist .... ☺️
Happy breeding to all of you!
I leave for the sea and a short sailingtrip.
Nice Olds. I know how you love your sailing. Send us a picture??
