Did you actually collect them or did they just appear in your gifts menu? I hit the cap when I collected them. I receive more than 120 a day, but normally don't hit collect on most. Today I did. And hit a limit. 120 seems about right. But as I said, I didn't count.
I collected 160 stored tickets from Friends in the Social Menu yesterday, but they were in two separate batches. Maybe 120 at a time is a cap.
I collected 80 tickets then went to collect a friend with 50 stored. I got the friend limit message. None of the fifty were sent to my bucket. Then I went back in and it happily accepted the extra 50.

Tried the exploit this evening too, and got the something's gone wonky message also. When the game reloaded, my tickets were at max for the day, and my BFS gift was reduced by the correct amount.
Yup, same here in both parks. Oh well, it was fun while it lasted.
I guess kicking you out of your park is their quick and dirty fix until they address the root cause. I wonder if they're reading this thread... backflipstudios pls
Oddly mine increased by 97 rather than decreasing the redeemed amount, I wonder if I managed to squeak in right in the middle of their patching...
Edit: I suppose it's just as well. It looked to me as if the nature of the exploit is that the reward was increasing almost geometrically (i.e. the total was almost doubling but for the increment you happened to be below the cap). If so, we would have soon gotten into trouble...

It didn't work for hubby or me, but we each were only 1 ticket away from the max. Game went wonky and restarted, and I now have 776 bfs tickets banked, along with all my friends gifted tickets. And I still have the Challenge game to collect from. I wonder if I will have problems from banking so many tickets?
So, it looks like the strategy to maximize the number of banked tickets is to collect 499, spin (hope for 40 - bank 39), then collect the 100 from the tent? Then there's saving gifted tickets, too. Do we have any good reason to assume it's worth it to even "bank" tickets.

hospitalized with severe paper cuts
And on those days, it'll be useful if you can just push a button and be done with collecting for the day. Gotta keep those priorities straight.

I had a weird thing happen. I calculated that I should have 735 at the end of this day (I already redeemed for Midday and the Hot Air Balloon). I was near the end, at 731, played NTD and got it right. I went to 746... I then went into gifts and collected with no problem until 781, when the collect buttons greyed out but I still didn't get the max ticket message. I'm find with getting extra tickets, but this confuses me and I'm worried they will disappear on the reset...
Edit: aaaand they're gone. Have emailed support.

So apparently it's been confirmed that during the last week of buying tickets, you can still collect tickets from your gifts.
One of the members of a private FB group just straight asked the backflipstudios support and got this response:

Is that right? I could have sworn it was limited to the number of islands, previously. 12, I think, when they added themes.
Hi, I am back now, with full internet connection (hopefully) until the end of the event.
As my gem friends have probably noticed, I were lucky enough to be able to play a little every day of the event, so I'm not very far behind; if at all:
I got blocked on the tutorial, where it told me to tap an island portal. I had hidden the portal with a tree, and I couldn't move the screen.
I sent BFS an email, which they quickly responded to, saying that they had moved me past that part of the tutorial. They also let me keep all those tickets, to apologize for my inconvenience! The wizards are really very generous.
As for the event, I love almost everything about it! There are a few things I am wondering about, though:
The ticket cap seems very easy to reach. I have hit it a couple of times already, even though I have only been able to play very briefly, twice a day. I fear that this means that we will have to pay to aquire all prizes. There seems to be a lot of prizes re-used from previous events, though, which I don't care a lot about as I already have most of them.
This last thing is not so much a concern with the event, as a question: when the next bunch of prizes are released, will the Fireflight ones disappear? If so, I better hurry up. Also, as a side question, why is the heated air balloon so expensive? Is there something special about it, like an animation, or is it just a static decoration?

I've been very disappointed about that. I expected it to fly.
The limit has been 14 of any theme since they first released the themes. Time to conjure up a theory. Lets do it in premises though so that bs, the android, can understand 1) People have often suggested a new park or vale to go into. 2) The current park we are in is filling up and a new game seems to be in order... 3) 14 islands is a lot and it's been there for a long time, so it seems perhaps that is the max that BFS are thinking of...

conclusion one is that after the 14 th island we are gonna get a new game/park to play around with. conclusion two is that BFS just plucked the number out of thin air

I set my alarm to remind me to stop back in to send gems. Now that the anesthesia is wearing off and my hand feels like I have a million severe paper cuts, it's comforting to know I have tickets in the bank.
