So I have been thinking about coming up with a structured process for twemstone dragon breeding, but I wasn't sure how many people were joining NK and I on this crazy quest and who might want to commit to it. Let's find out.
The process.
1. Those keen to use Their CBC exclusively to try for a Twin Sapphire post in this thread. 2. I'll leave this open for a few days to collect some names than randomly sort the names into two lists, one for rain, one for mountain. 3. Everyone in the Rain list breeds a rain with the top person in the mountain list. Everyone in the mountain list breeds with the top name in the Rain list. 4. The list order will be changed during September to give everyone a shot at the top spot. 5. When someone breeds a Twin Sapphire with the first person on the list, the person who is second moves up to the top and everyone breeds with them. 6. People who have bred/received a Twin Sapphire are under no obligation to help the others, but obviously all help is appreciated. 7. Rinse and repeat until we all have the necessary twins or September is over 8. Anyone can join to help after the event has started, but they are added to the bottom of the list.
Does that make sense to everyone? Does that seem fair to everyone? Keep in mind that the person at the top of the list will be inundated with twins of all kinds. Do we want to do anything with gifting gems to help people near the end or even make it a Last Call comp with pledges of donations, realising that we won't all get to breed it before it's gone?
Post now with expressions of interest and suggestions on what to change/add to how it should be run.
Cheers Fletch

Registration order 1. Fletch_smf 2. +echo9+ 3. Hyder's Outrage 4. Ang2england 5. Kiwichris01 No FB 6. Lasse Grill on FB m.facebook.com/lasse.foim 7. NinjaKiwi. 8. Kelthorn
Randomising the order of numbers 1 through 8
6 5 7 1 4 3 2 8
This makes Lasse Grill first with a Facebook account and Kiwichris01 second with no access to Facebook. So I have put them on the same team. So first 4 numbers will be the Rain group and the next 4 will be the Mountain group. I think this should work for everyone.

Some ideas -- if the list is long enough. Have odds put up "Panlong" and evens put up "Bloom" and then breed with No.1 or No.2 depending on what they have up. That will even out the twins a bit. And maybe run like the Galaxy competition where it runs for a length of time then cycles on to the next pair to be focus? To give the original pair time to deal with twins without new ones coming in.

Fletch I think that we should do this for all gemstones. Would make it a lot more structured. And BEB should start early December. Not too soon, but I was thinking about it recently and decided to establish a breeding partner - its a big thing to commit yourself like that.
Couldn't we do this for all twemstones, so that we can establish breeding partners for them in the meanwhile?
P.s I sign up to the twovalith thing.
P.p.s I just had a fabulously gay idea (yes i types that, that's not autocorrect!) - How about the twovalith is worked like a secret Santa competition. Fletch tells everyone their breeding partner (but no one knows who was partnered with them), and lets hope someone manages to get the twovaline on christmas as a fab christmas present for the unknown person on the other end!

No longer active on DragonVale! *briefly back online*
After the Faire when things get calm I was thinking of starting a basic dragon twin share - Plant, Earth, Fire, etc. If anyone is interested PM me. I just want to gauge interest.

Ha! When things get calm. Until another event arrives...
And yes that's a great idea. I think a lot of people would participate. Personally for most my common hybrids, I'm just getting them as they come. If I aim for them, then in a year or so they are just gonna be an annoyance. So if I get them I get them, if I don't, I don't. Next year I am aiming for all the twemstones, and I will be getting plenty of twins.
However for epics and limited epics/hybrids, it is a good idea to set up a thread like that. There is actually something like that already in the Coop breeding thread. Look at the third post.

Good ideas. With 10% chance of twins, a list of 10 could mean the no.1 person would be getting more than a twin a day. Of course that's sort of what we're going for. I certainly received and gave a lot of twins to NK whilst trying for gemstone dragons. We're just trying to condense that down into one short period of time.
Also, we're not expectingBEB until Christmas? Then let's make this an enquiry thread into how we should run it, and the interest of running something monthly for the gemstone dragons. Will change the topic to be for the Sapphire dragon.
I think two lists is a good idea, one for each of the two dragons, and every one from list 1 breeds with the top off list 2 and vice versa. We can swap it around during the month to give everyone a shot at being at the top of the list.

I love secret Santa. But the secret is out once you receive your first twin.

Altered the OP to be about Sapphire and witht the concept of two lists. Don't want to make any assumptions so anyone who is keen to breed exclusively for Sapphire from now, essentially, please post again.

Sounds great to me! Especially since I have had NO luck with getting a Sunstruck Dragon - it has become the bane of my existence. LOL. So sign me up to have a go at the Sapphire Dragon.
I will be sharing my Mountain Dragon, Boulder, he enjoys long hikes in the mountains, and is fond of skiing in the Winter. Don't let his appearance fool you, he is a gentle dragon who is looking for that special dragon in his life.

I was like, "Wait a doggone minute, how did my post get in a Sapphire thread?" It helps to keep reading!
When Ovalith breeding comes around, I am in. Until then I am sitting this out.
