Cheers! I bred with KiwiChris while I was waiting. Unfortunately I got a 60h timer, but I'll be back on the wagon in a day or so.
To give people some perspective about how hard this will be: I bred for Pearl, Ruby and Peridot non-stop, over the three months they were available. I didn't do much speeding up with gems, maybe 50 gems all up. I am pretty sure I didn't have a breeding partner for much of the time, but I did get a few twins here and there from people.
In that time, I saw: 3 regular pearls 1 twin Pearl (my own one, not one gifted) 0 regular Rubies 0 twin Rubies 2 regular Peridots 0 twin Peridots
So 5 gemstones and one twin. Slightly lower success rate than what Fletch has seen over time, but still it's slow going. Having 4 people breed with you will help a lot, but it still might be possible to not get one at all.
^ Thanks for that. It will indeed be slow going. Did I get the Twin Pearl from you?
My experience is the somewhat similar. I have 3 twinstones Emerald, Pearl and Peridot, and I didn't breed any of them. They all were gifts from others. The receiving rather than giving thing is why I think this might work out well in the long run. 4 isn't a lot of people, but it is an additional 4 chances of a twinstone that you could not get by yourself. I'm hoping that more people might take advantage of this as we progress, but I understand not everyone wants to use their CBC exclusively for this nutty project.
Maybe we should start this next month with just asking for a 1 or 2 week commitment. How about if we start October with everyone that has a bit of interest in it, and everyone gets 1 day at the top of the list. We rotate around so after 1 or 2 weeks everyone has had their shot. Then people are free to try for other things or they can continue with the twinstone project if they wish.
I forgot about Emerald! I did a little bit of breeding with that, but didn't write down what I got. I vaguely remember one regular; definitely no twins. Sethrocks21 got the Twirl.
I think the only flaw to this scheme is that people (might/will) drop out after getting their twin (rule #6). If two people drop out every time someone gets a success, then the odds get a little shorter for the remaining people as time goes on. I guess one way to look at it is you aren't any worse off if you were already breeding solo.
However if you've a regular breeding partner already, then if you don't get a proportionate amount of time at the top of the list you're worse off when people leave.
I expect this list to explode come Ovalith time/BeB.

You are a little worse off. That's why randomising the list order seemed the fair way to go. As we continue with this we might need to bump those with no twinstones to the top of the list at the start to try and share the love around.
Randomising the list was the only way to start off, you're right. You could really nerd out on optimal list management.
Cycling through the list order regularly I think is good, perhaps proportional to the number of people participating? That, and keeping the list persistent across gemstones. People who don't get a go at the top one month will likely be on the top next.
It'll be a touchy/feely thing, as we don't really know how people will come and go. If nothing else it'll help break up the monotony.
And definitely reward people who keep participating, even tho they might not have gotten their dragon the earlier month (hopefully we will never need a plural "s" there).

We could also simply ask each to state a commitment they are comfy with? For me, I'm in DV for the duration and am loving learning patience and I don't want to hurry the xp increase or rush the dragons with gems; I am loving the journey and the company, so for me, I will stay the course no matter how long, to support others in this community; I believe in paying it forward!

Should we consider that option?
Got the Twin Pearl from me, I think! I haven't participated in TwinStone since, but this looks interesting. And there's nothing to stop the rest of us from breeding with anyone on the List that we're friends with - for fun
maybe be start a waiting list ?

angengland where is your mountain? Couldn't find it after I got a twin mud, so I gave kelthorn a try in the meantime.
Oh weird! I may have messed something up. MY CBC just refreshed so he's back in there now. I didn't heart him, just used him in the cave so he should be showing up again. Aplogies if I accidentally unhearted him somehow.
Now worries, as stated earlier I just had a small detour with someone else's mountain. They are done in 2.5-3 hours. I'll resume the sapphire breeding with you then
