I hate this event. I've pretty much decided that maxing out and banking is impossible, so I'll get what I get and that will be that.

Well, it's certainly not impossible, but it's not as easy as most past events.
Takes me multiple log ins in a day, as opposed to hitting the cap roughly 15 minutes after the rest.
In fact, I had a particularly bad set of spins on the Wheel of Chance yesterday, so I actually did have to grind a little bit to hit the cap last night.
Overall, it's nowhere near as bad as the Light/Dark event was...

You're not alone with that -- I mostly got 1 treat per spin yesterday. I just hit the cap now... I'm at 8150.
I just wish we could try to breed the dragons -- rather than them all be only available with candies.

I'm at 8112 and am counting on my last challenge to hit max. However, I was forced to use gems to hatch eggs bc I had 3 long 24 hour plus fails in my nursery. I don't know how pple are hitting max the same day? I've been very consistent with my challenges. If we could breed these dragons in the coop it would make life so much easier.

Yep add me to that list too! Plus it seemed like no matter who I put in the competition ring I only received 100 candies. Very frustrating!!

Yep add me to that list too! Plus it seemed like no matter who I put in the competition ring I only received 100 candies. Very frustrating!!
I believe receiving 100 candies from the competition ring is the max you can receive (expect on double days then it is 200 candies).
I just wish we could try to breed the dragons -- rather than them all be only available with candies.
You can.... you just have to wait til Bring Em Back or a similar event happens
Of course, they can flip the switch on them at any point. If they wanted to, they could make them all breedable once the moon is full or after candy collection stops or tomorrow, just for a lark...

Again, bad for business. Or at least I assume that's why none of them are epic this go round. We'll have to see how they do future events to know for sure though. It's always possible that it's just coincidence and that they just felt none of these new dragons made sense as epics...
However, I think the Coop has changed things more than anticipated. We saw plenty of people proclaim that they WOULD NOT buy the various epic dragons during the Faire because they could get them anytime via the Coop.
I'm pretty sure that's NOT what the devs wanted to read...
Of course, some of that is clearly players reacting to the dragons being so expensive in the first place. In many of the past events we could earn two + egg of each new dragon. Now we get the freedom to choose several new dragons in a single event and yet can barely afford one of each. With enough events under the new structure, we'll eventually hit the proper equilibrium. But these are still baby steps...
I still think the Coop and the Epic breeding rules in general have spoiled everyone though. I'd rather they sync the breeding rules up in one direction or another. It's silly and confusing to have a special exception epic dragons, especially now that epics can breed with all the other dragons. Epic cloning rules should ether be applied to all dragons equally... or gotten rid of entirely
Woo. I just maxed out. And only some 14 hours after I started. Time to start banking I guess. I really have no idea how I'm going to do this every day!
I did NOT max out most days over the weekend. I'm just going to do what I can do and try not to worry about it. Push that completionist part of me down into a hole and make it STAY there.
However, did anyone else notice the thing about banking? It seems to truly be, this time, for helping on OTHER days when you can't quite get to DV as much. So even taking banked candy out is going to be subject to the 1000 candy a day limit.
Plant grinding in my son's park (level 29) gives me 3 candies each; he has 662 candies so far. But, in my park only gives me 2 (level 63) and I have over 1000 candies so far.
I wonder if this has to do with level or w/ diminishing returns?
Also, I reached my daily limit at 1150.
Does your son have a "child" account? That is logged into with just a name and not an email account? If so, accounts like that cannot gain as many friends. They are limited by age and thus get a few things where they gain more than a regular account (such as 3 candies instead of 2). Its been this way for at least a year.
That was an interesting discussion about the moon phases and how they can be viewed by people from different points in the earth. Went looking around on the net for infos. In geneva we are " quite" north so the moon crescent is much more vertical than what you see in NZ or OZ. In any case, what we know now is that although BFS is in Boulder Colorado, Dragon Vale is somewhere in the southern hemisphere ! Hold on, DV has snow in the winter, white Xmas, which is typically a northern hemisphere thing. And the seasons are also matching the northern hemisphere! What does it all say Is DV in another upside down solar system ? Will we ever solve that mystery
OR, the Wizards in Colorado just never took my earth science course or they would have made the waxing crescent on the right as it is in Boulder .... Here's another fun fact about the moon; in most non-scientific references of the moon, it is shown upside down and backwards; even in our textbook. The Ocean of Storms, which is the large dark lava flows on the left side is found many times on the right in photos.

As Jolies said, it has possibly been the only game you could complete with spending money for a very long time. Had to end eventually. Simpsons Tapped Out has exclusive content you need to spend cash on every event they run. Learning to live without is a great way to get by.
And they will learn, and adjust things next event.

Sitting at 7639 candy atm. I think I only maxed out once. Not sure if I will be able to get everything I want, but eh. This event doesn't seem worth the effort worrying about it.

I think the odds have changed on the WHeel of Chance. I'm considering Name that Dragon again and definitely NOT regularly getting 5 gems anymore. Lots more 1s, fewer 40s.

I agree... I don't want them to stop events entirely but I would like a few months break between events. They are too often/too close together.
This time, they were a bit close together. But there have been times THIS YEAR that I got bored waiting for the next event to start. So that timing can be tricky. And the timing on this one was forced by Halloween's date plus Christmas on the other side.
