The ONLY thing that I'm not overly keen on with regard to the new event system, is the stashing of currency (i.e.. Roses) until it is feasible to spend it. I feel sometimes like i am just going through the motions until *BOOM*! A weekend limited dragon, or the end of the event. I'm not saying that I prefer the old system, as I quite enjoy the fact that I have a choice of buying pedestals now, but the new events seem to drag along. Does anybody else feel the same?
Yes! I prefer this redeem and unlock prizes format over the timed unlocks (the summer & winter events). And if BFS were to get rid of the limited/extremely short breeding window surprises, people wouldn't be stashing & the events would seem a lot funner.

Doubt it. How would you know that they're not going to do limited prizes? Backflip isn't going to tell us beforehand. Even if they did, I wouldn't trust them when there's no downside to waiting anyway.

Sadly, not guaranteed; I just put L15 Faire in for Candy Crunch (a recommended dragon, not used for past 2 rounds) and only got 50 roses...sometimes your best bet plus humour work; last time taily winks came up I used L16 firefly ( not on rec list) cos of its taily light and got 100 roses....STILL no guarantees in life huh koala everyone!

I just wanted to know if anyone else has not been able to breed a single Aura? I've had my level 10 Ornamental breeding with a level 10 Delight for about 5 days constantly (the poor thing is so tired), I'm only getting hybrids, no epics at all ?. Just looking for advice or cosmic karma from anyone. Thanks guys and I love this community.

There is a downside for waiting. All I need now are all the new Aura dragons. If I buy them early in the event (as soon as I have enough roses), I can try breeding with them yet. When I buy them at the end of the event I only can start then cross-breeding them. But then soon a new dragon is likely to appear. Plus, if you get an Aura soon and put it in your coop, other players will take their chance to try to get them, and this makes your chances to get another one higher too.
So there is a huge downside to buying them only at the end. On the other hand I like to have some roses in my wallet, just in case for that announced super limited yet-to-come dragon. I don't want to miss out on that one. The Auras can be bread in the coop later.
But I am really tired of that bottleneck coop. Since we have the third breeding cave, there are so many dragons that only can be baught with event currency or bread via the coop. At the moment I need no other breeding cave but 3 coops !
Also I'm tired of all the crashes. I 'm really thinking about a break.

Getting on the whining bandwagon, no aura for me yet! Trying for Delight with Ornamental with lots and lots of short fails. Whine whine whine cheese!
Likewise So many gems used on 1h speedups, but no luck yet. If I only get the delight dragon through breeding, I'm sure I'll have enough roses for whatever is coming this weekend. I still don't have a barite dragon either, and all those high breeding times are getting to be a pain in the bottom. Time's running out on that one for me

And from comments here and elsewhere, most are in a similar position. At least you are only getting short fails. I've lost count of the epics I have sold recently.

I went with a hybrid approach: bought 2, bred both for turbo babies and am sitting on my current rose stash (while using co-op trying for 1 of the 2 remaining auras). I feel this is a flexible approach: I am 1/2 way to my goal of 2 of every dragon + pedestal and have roses in case there's a limited release. I have enough banked that I can pick up the 2 dragons at the end.

I forgot to collect my roses from friends last night what do I do? Should I wait until tonight? I didn't make it to 1000 and completely forgot.
I never collect my gifts until I reach my max, and often I forget and they just sit there until I do collect them. If it is like other events, they will be collected at the end with other banked roses. The only reason I collect from gifts, is to collect the gem or treats given. I just let the roses build up until the end of the event.

You can if you want to.
Collecting after you hit the cap allows you to get the gems and treats from your gifts without touching the roses. They're already in your social menu either way.

The main reason I usually save my event currency until the end of the event is not because I want to have enough for a surprise weekend-only dragon that may be tossed into the mix. Rather, its so I can see my total amount available to spend, and then weigh my options on how to spend it all.
Anyway, I liked the way they did it with the Faire. You didn't know what was coming next until they unlocked the next phase. It made it more exciting as the event progressed, IMO. Of course, there was a downside as well, like with the fiasco caused by the accidental super-low price of the Faire dragon that was suddenly increased...but I won't re-hash that whole bad memory.
When I logged in today after reset, I saw for a brief moment a prize screen that said 'All' as is All Prizes, I'm guessing, It had the samr sky Blue bacground as the prize store window. Curious if they are loading The Limited Dragon today, for tomorrow's reset.

Oh I know BFS wouldn't do it (would be an extremely pleasant surprise though!); I'm sure the limited surprise dragon(s) brings in a lot of cash for them. But those limited surprise dragon(s) seems to be the main reason as to why stashing became a trend. That said, I do appreciate BFS giving players a heads up about the limited surprise dragon(s) on their FB/in the app updates.
