Got bored of this event pretty quickly. Not gonna play the event. Bored of breeding plant dragons and having absolutely no success ever. When was the last time I bred a dragon I really, really wanted. BEB, probably... Sigh. Now I understand Poppy's predicament with not ever breeding dragons. Events don't help either.

Seriously jv I do feel your pain; I have at times had weeks and weeks of no koala, but this event I have managed to breed one (ONE!) chrysalid draggie, so not as bummed out as your dear self....and Skeeter...and Poppy.....
… and me… Well, I just can't give up, I keep trying anyway. Cloning is out of my reach. It seems like that technology hasn't come to my park yet. At least, I managed to get a Chrysalis with my Duskwing and my Swallowtail, haven't got that luck for a looooooong time… so not complaining too high.
I think my coop breeding island is broken! I just cannot breed any chrysalis or monolith 6.......not even a sausage!!! In fact I've had that much whine lately I can't stand up anymore :-) hic! hic!
When did the "sausage" dragon come out? What does the egg look like? Does it have a special habitat so the other dragons don't eat it?
The "sausage" dragon is special but very elusive, so much so no one has seen one.....

With today's gift and maximum, I'll have 15,970 eggs thus far (banked 1,903) -- I purchased some with real money during the double weekend and redeemed them for 4 prizes so far
- Shell of Surprise - Chrysalis Habitat - Shell of Serenity - Duskwing Dragon
I managed to breed a Chrysalis dragon and figure at the end I'll be able to get 2 dragons -- either Lacewing or Swallowtail -- and Monolith 6. Thankfully BFS is giving us the Marbletail. After that I'll decide what to do... pedestals, decorations. Probably skipping the island theme. But I'll have to get something to unlock the last level.

I wish we could send eggs lol I deleted all of the eggs sitting in my friends list. I wish I could get rid of the bicentennial lol James- I thought I was the only person unable to breed a new dragon. You aren't alone. At least you haven't spent a ton of time trying:)
Well, I have been breeding, just without success - I just haven't been participating in is event.
@kiwichris I wish I could be more positive and less melancholy, but alas, it is not ti be so, for my lament rages strong after just a week of an event.

So I did the math(ok, the spreadsheet did the math, not me) and it looks like I can get the lost island, relic of the epics, and the monolith habitat by the time I get my banked eggs(assuming this weekend is doubles, otherwise will need to recalculate). I already got ovalith, monolith 5, and chrysalis. So all in all I'm not doing too bad, better then I expected when I first tried to figure it out.
However, my breeding success is another story altogether, and time for me to seriously whine! I still have yet to breed a single chrysalis dragon in either park, and in my iOS park I still don't have aquamarine, despite trying non-stop since early this month, and now it last call. I don't have quartz either. My android park got aquamarine a week ago, just got it's second quartz, and spring with hardly trying(I'm starting to think I'll have to call my android park my main one since it has more epic dragons! Of course, it's a little phone screen instead of my nice iPad). And yes, I know these aren't event related dragons, but coupled with my lack of success with the chrysalis dragons, I'm concluding that my iOS park is cursed! Boo... and whine....

I thought you could send gifts to your friends once every 24-hours (meaning if you sent gifts at 11:00 am today, you can't send anything to them until 11:00 am tomorrow)? I feel like I must be missing something...(and potentially short-changing my friends!).

I already had all rares and got a Bicentennial from the blue gift egg.
How surprising and totally unexpected. I bet other people got a different dragon and not also that same one. If someone else also got Bicentennial, that sure would be a crazy coincidence.
If you had all non-epics already, you got a Bi-Centennial, otherwise you got something you were missing.
But it's a hybrid/rare, not an epic, so no Crystalline/Aura/Chrysalis/Gemstone/Rainbow/Olympus etc.
I got bloom in my little park and Cotton in my big park...do you think they went alphabetically to fill the gaps?

I thought I wouldn't be able to get far in the event since I was traveling for 12 days with little internet connection, but it seems that even without hitting the limit on eggs each day, since I was able to breed all the Chrysalis dragons but Lacewing (still trying for that one), I'm actually much better off than I thought! I haven't managed to breed Quartz or Mono 6 yet either, and haven't even tried for the new golden hybrid until I catch up on the harder ones, but overall I'm quite happy with the event.
That said, I know a lot of you aren't! My big park no longer needs the treats I usually send from my baby parks, so if anyone would like to get a little extra in the way of gifts for the event, please friend one of my baby parks and either comment here or PM me, and I'll send along some treats and maybe a gem! A third GCID I don't usually use on the forum, but can exchange during the event, is postacollect47 as well.

Thanks! That makes more sense now. I always thought that once per 24-hour meant that you could only send gifts every 24-hours based on when you last sent them. So, I'll have to check this morning to see if I can send gifts as soon the reset occurs.

Sometimes the game must be forced to reload. If you close the app entirely and reopen it, that should do the trick (if you haven't messed up with the two times : event currency refresh was before 5.25 hours and gem refresh wil be in 2.75 hours.)
