Why are people using Ire with Crysalis? Doesn't that have a R and DR fail due to there being 4 elements total?
I thought both Serenity and Crysalis were fire+cold+earth, thus meaning no long fails?
That's what I thought too. What are the best cloning pairs for the Chrysalis types? I'm waiting for a Pharaoh dragon to shimmy out of my co-op cave in a couple hours. No telling what my Android buddies are sharing. Hoping someone has put one up, ...

Hello everyone! I just joined your group today and am still trying to figure my way around the menus, so I apologize if this is the wrong place to introduce myself. My youngest son got me started on DV two months ago and now I am hooked. I have been off work recovering from an accident so with all my extra free time I started two parks that I play with the game center id's of redgoofybird and bluegoofybird. I, in turn have pulled my husband into the game and he is blackgoofybird.
I was excited for the Easter Egg event to start because I loved the Valentines event, but I am disappointed at how few prizes I will be able to earn with this event. The prizes are more expensive and I am finding gathering eggs to be more challenging since they don't allow 10 turns at the stadium as during the rose event. I started breeding 2 sandstorms today to see if that will help me and I already know about stockpiling eggs in my mailbox until the end of the event. (I saved 3000+ extra roses this way) I currently only own the Relic of the Epics in my redgoofybird account, so I have a lot of purchases to make to unlock the 4 levels.
I would like to try and coop breed for the new Chrysalis dragons so that my eggs are freed up for other prizes, so is there anyone here who already has any of these dragons that could friend me on both of my game center accounts? Also, what Epic is working best for everyone else to get these dragons? In the breeding simulator app it looks like Serenity or Ire match the best to give no other Epics, but wondering what everyone else is finding.

Welcome. Currently, with the event going on, this is probably the best introduction thread. We run a bit different from other boards because we try not to have too many threads. So more posts in fewer threads.
That said, there are a few posts that are pretty useful at the beginning: The Co-op Cave thread is here: dragonvale-tips.proboards.com/post/128537/thread and contains dragons that are being shared by various users (mostly Gamecenter users) So you can try friending the IDs there that are sharing a dragon you are interested in. Our lovely moderator Cyn (mostly) keeps it fairly well updated. You can also go to the end of the thread and find the posts about updates that may not be reflected there yet.
The Dragonvale Monthly Forecast is also really useful to try to plan for breeding dragons you do not have yet. It is broken out by months and the dragons expected each month.
Every event Backflip runs is a little different. The Valentines event (and the matching game particularly) was VERY generous. However, this event has the Rotunda of Rewards just like the Christmas event. As I recall, during that event it felt a little impossible to get all of the rewards one might want -- but by the end, I got everything I cared about. The Rotunda helped a lot. So I'd reserve judgement and see how this one rolls out.

If you want to clone Marbletail, Ire is pretty good. For Swallowtail, Ire doesn't add any extra elements and has a pretty short breeding time itself. For Lacewing though, I would recommend Ire.

Do we have to purchase every item in the first tier in order to unlock the next set??
So from what i have read, the Monolith habitat i already have is of no use? I have to buy the one in the prize section? So i should just sell my empty habitat?

Regarding unlocking, you only need to obtain (by purchase or successful breeding) the requisite NUMBER of designated items to unlock each successive tier. You don't need to obtain every item in each tier. So for example, if Tier 2 (Iridescent) shows up as 0/4, then you need to obtain at least 4 items from Tier 1 (Silken) in order to unlock Tier 2. Those items will also be credited toward unlocking Tier 3 (Opalescent), but that requires 10 total items, from Tiers 1 and 2. Those items likewise will be credited toward unlocking Tier 4 (Gossamer), but that requires 14 total items, from Tiers 1, 2, and 3.
Regarding the monolith habitats, the one you purchased is certainly of use to you for placement of any of your Monolith dragons. It just isn't the "event" monolith habitat, which some of us have from last year, or can be now purchased in this event. Only the event habitat will count as an item toward unlocking the higher level tiers of the event rewards. The event habitat has a slightly different/unique look to it as well. But you may want to consider just using the one you purchased for housing your monolith dragons, and purchasing some of the less expensive items (e.g. pedestals or decorations) as your items to unlock the higher tiers of the event rewards. Just a suggestion, since we have limited eggs to collect over the course of this event.
Quick correction: You don't need only items from the lower levels to unlock the higher ones. You can unlock a tier with requistite number of items from ANY tier. For instance, I have 3 items from Tier 1, 2 items from Tier 2, and 1 item each from Tiers 3 and 4. But all 7 items contribute to the unlocking of Tier 3, even the item from Tier 4. However, most of those items in the higher tiers could only be gotten in previous events.

Yes, you can. Chrysalis plus an epic dragon (eg Serenity) in your EBI or Cave has a 3% chance of getting a Chrysalis. I believe the chance is the same for the CBC.

Ahah! So it it just me and me really bad CBCluck (cough Verglace cough) that is preventing me from getting a Chrysalis with my Serenity in the CBC.
Did you do lots of speed ups with gems?
I was super lucky and got it second go. I sped up the annoying Arctic I got first. However, it has taken me since the last event to get a lace dragon...we all have the cheeky ones that don't want to come and play in our park!!

cowb0y300, Thanks for sharing your Chrysalis. I have added your GCID to the Shared Dragon List.I will also confirm this works as I have bred two Chrysalis with the Ire dragon from noodles...in about four tries. I'll share mine as well.
