Anyone able to breed Solstice rifted? Combo? Nothing is working on any of our games. I did grab a Labradorite (Plant) that I am happy to have crossed off the list.

Question: Rspritely is currently available, and according to DV breeding app ( cos drow is, you know, sleeping in, overworked, exhausted) you need an Olympic x an Aura to breed it... But what if you have no Raura?!?! How do you get your first? Buy mystery eggs and hope? Holp😳

I bred an R Solstice with BLAZING+EARTH RIFT even though that combo has more fails than say BLAZING+LAVA.

both smitten and sweetheart can be obtained via mystery eggs, but unfortunately they didn’t re-release the aura dragons to be able to breed Spritely. Sorry Kiwichris.
I really wish BFS would look at these locked combo dragons when they release the rift versions and realize that they are almost impossible to breed (some of them, like starshine, actually are impossible). It only takes a few minutes to review and they’ve done it a few times now, so it’s strange that this mistake keeps happening.
In unrelated news, I noticed that the quest for Teozinte has been fixed to the correct elements now.

with the recent changes to the way opposite dragons are bred, both combos now have the same amount of fails (except for earth rift). You can get both sandstorm and dodo from blazing + lava.
Or did you mean that earth rift would be a fail?

This is the combo I"m using too .. but no luck so far. Good to know it works! I always worry that I'm going to realise I've been using the wrong combo lol

I tried blazing and earth rift with no luck.  I switched to blazing and mountain...that way i might get one of the snowy olys too.  I got a bronze, but still no solstice (except an UNTRAITED one - grrrr.)

Good tip. Switched to blazing/mountain. Got an untraited snowy gold, but then a traited snowy bronze! Yay! No Solstice (boo!) but that snowy bronze is one I didn't have. Thx!

Managed a rSolstice today, and then managed to get a rDream too.

Still missing a heap of rifties, but have nowhere to put new ones anyway.

Steam (Fire) + Current (Lightning) got Summer rifties for our family games. It worked for one so we just duplicated traits and it worked well for everyone else.

This rift isn't kind to me lately, can't get Rift Misfortune and got two non-rift Labradorite.

Traits of dragons don't make a difference when breeding dragons that aren't the rift-exclusive dragons.

yay! I got Rift labradorite today! So that means I have a Rift version of all possible crystalline dragons, and I’m only missing Rift versions of 3 gemstone dragons (amethyst, diamond, and aquamarine).
I can finally start working on getting some rift permanents like the 3 snowys, Hydra, Gold Oly, cyclops, and summer while it’s available. Who knew that I’d be able to catch up during an event! Haha.

So it seems that you breed rift versions of all the Epics and Limiteds. Does one of the parents need to have the Rift element to breed a Rift version, or can I just move the regular parents into the Rift to breed a Rift Hybrid?

Only dragons with the Rift trait can exist in the rift habitats and breed there.

This means you have to buy the Rift primaries in the Rift marketplace, and breed everything* from there.


* - You can also buy the Mystery eggs from the Rift marketplace to get random dragons (which may have the Rift trait).

think of it like twins - you can’t make a non-twin dragon into a twin, you have to breed for it in a special way, so it’s like trying to get all the “original” dragons all over again, but in the Rift.
