I did it!  I now have 40 Rift habitats leveled to REGAL!

I put aside breeding in the rift through most of the Om of Noms to obtain this goal.  Just a few more spots to fill with rifties and my E making machine is complete🧐.  That is until the next addition 😂😂. Now I can happily build an E stockpile for a few days until the Christmas event.  

Sigh feels good to accomplish this goal.  Especially since I don’t know when I’ll have a blue or even purple fir breathing dragonarium 😲!

Is there any point in continuing to clear miasma once 40 habitats are upgraded to Regal. It looks as if the miasma just goes on forever, with forever expanding cost of clearing. With all available dragons bred (I'm still minus a few which I may snag during BEB) I think the only thing to do in the rift is try to feed all the dragons to higher levels, but that has it's own pointless aspect, unless I'm able to visit frequently to clear the habitats as they reach capacity.

Any thoughts on this?

I am thinking I will set up a regular clearing to make room for future BF additions but still maintain a comfortable E buffer. It offends my sense of symmetry to leave it as is with no ability to neaten it up.  However once the clearing becomes too expensive I will reconsider what to do.

 Right now you can only clear as far as the fog barriers and then you get the message you have reached the end or edge something like that.

This happened to me too, and to a few friends on Facebook. It looks like, for whatever reason, when you change the rift alignment, it tells you it'll be for 2 days, but reverts back to the cycle of alignments once reset occurs.
I emailed BFS, and they refunded me the E3M that I had sent changing the alignment.
koala! And I'd say, as annoying as it may be, it's probably better just to wait, than to change the rift alignment, until BFS fixes this glitch. :/

I just did this a few days ago as well! I'm so glad to finally be done with buying and upgrading and making space to fit them all. Now it's nice to just sit back and earn E3M. Plus, since I've got my blue fire breathing dragonarium back, I'm gonna focus on getting those rift traits and pedestals completed.

And to answer cecilia 's question/post, once you have either spent the amount of E3M you want to buy mystery eggs, change traits with the Transfiguration Tower, or rift breed to get missing dragons, or saved up E3M; I would clear enough of the fog in the rift dimension to prepare for when BFS introduces more rift habitats, which I imagine they will at some point but probably not for a while.

I wouldn't clear anything until you actually have to. There might be a mini-event where ether clearing is 50% off or something. (Expansion Extravaganza #2?) Or just some other situation where having a giant buffer is really valuable.

And then you're gonna be sad for spending it prematurely

Sorry Michou, I do not know the answer for sure, but my first thought was no, traits only affect traits, not DNA. Hopefully someone will answer your question better than this.

I now have 24 Regal habitats. No space for another, so am thinking of buying habitats but only upgrading once or twice until every speck of space is used, then clearing more ether. Not sure how sound that is, lol.

Just another confirmation that gemstone dragons can indeed be bred in the Rift.

Woo-hoo! I just found out traits CAN be passed down into offsprings' DNA! Here are the two dragons I just bred together: (air+metal, with a water trait) and (cold+lightning, with a plant trait). The result is: fire (today's rift alignement) + plant (one of the parent's traits).

WOW, 40 Regals! How did you guys do that? Right now I have 30 Regals.
I did spend E on clearing to neaten up my Rift.
Down front you’ll see that 10 Regals fit side-by-side perfectly.
A while back I organized all of my Elementals by introduction order.
Plant-Fire-Earth-Cold-Lightning-Water-Air-Metal-Light-Dark
First row: The main elemental plus element+Plant, Fire, Earth, etc. Back row: Ltng/Water, then the back half.
Before I completed the set I used Spores as placeholders for missing dragons.
Now if say I want to check out what traits my Coral has I know to go 6 down, front row and find it pronto.
Helps my OCD sensibilities to find things without going through the Dragonarium.

I would not clear extra miasma over what you need to clear to display 40 Regal habitats.

In my case, I have 40 Regals and finally got the last 'rare' rift I needed : a Plumewing pedestal. So now I will try to get all the 'normal' rift dragons (7 to go) and the 'normal' rift pedestals (about 20 to go). Then I will buy eggs to try for missing twins. This will occupy my E production forever.

That’s what I did for my last 10. It was getting harder to generate enough E with the habitats I had, to be able clear each miasma cloud being so expensive 😱!  So I filled every space with habitats that I bought and leveled up twice.  Once I had bought, leveled twice and populated the last 10 habitats. I was able to increase my E production enough to clear, level a habitat and populate as I went. With each riftie dragon added I could gather more E to clear again.


Be careful with clearing though because the Regal habitats are larger than one miasma cloud but they can fit in those odd shaped upside down triangle spaces.  I would often try leveling and carefully move the Regal habitat around, looking for it’s indicators to show it can be dropped in that space to change to green. If I truly didn’t have a spot I would look for a good place to clear that would give me more space than just one miasma cloud.  Sometimes I had to do a lot of moving around of all the smaller habitats including the hibernation cave and the transfiguration tower.  Crowding them into every small place I could find to create the right shaped space for a Regal habitat.

Tah dah. I just finished getting my last egg, viridian of course, and I'm fire breathing with all categories gold. Only took 3 virdian x viridian breeds to get it.

I'm actually closer than I thought for bluefire. My mystery egg addiction has me down to only needing 65 twins. Only 11 gemstones/crystals left. Plus I got the big one, twin ovalith, last week.


Ps. I couldn't do the chemeltoe. Too much blushing.

Thanks for all that good advice! I have just a few missing dragons in the rift and I thought I would be able to breed them during BEB, but it's so totally not working that I'm beginning to think some dragons aren't available at this time - Garden, Faire, Feast, Steel and Nosferatu are some of them. I've tried various combos suggested by the Sandbox, but wonder if I should be also changing traits on my breeding pairs?

Any advice O Wiser Ones?

Well, in my impatience to get the whole rift habitat thing going, I spent the etherium I had on two habitats ladt night....

Completely forgetting that we would likely be getting the viridian bundle today. 😳😡🙄😂

Now, instead of happily seeing and enjoying some fancy smoke on my dragonarium, I must wait a couple more hours to collect enough etherium to get the bundle. I may stay up late tonight just to spend quality time with the smoke. 😂
