meadowphoenix , Ghast and Spore don't require specific opposite dragons, but Viridian and Zaffer do. Has anyone reported breeding those? (Without cloning?)
Yeah, I definitely think it's the primary opposite dragons that are the problem. IT technically should be as easy to breed Ghast or Spore, as it would be to breed riftian bluefire/malachite/etc. I haven't heard of anyone breeding viridian or zaffer.
My head is still spinning trying to get this breeding down. I keep getting dragons with no traits. The alignment also plays no part in the dragons I do hatch w traits. Would pple mind listing what they have used to breed the new dragons so we can keep a list?
Just to be clear’ rift dragons can only be bred in the rift so if I need a pedestal I must try for it in the Rift?

I got a Ghast with a Fire!Dungeon and Light Rift. Ghast needs light and dark elements and a fire trait. I got the dark element with Fire!Dungeon, the light element with Light Rift, and the Fire trait with Fire!Dungeon.
2 new rift dragons, looks to be both light and dark, one water trait and another fire. Wonder what the combos will be but at least we get double E3M for a week!
Edit: it looks like Thunderbird requires any earth and lightning rift elements, just one (minimum) needs to have a fire trait. You could use Rift fire quake or crystal, or just use them (or rift earth and rift lightning) during the rift alignment fire. And Lacuna requires rift shadow (air trait) and rift mirage (water trait) So to get those, I recommend trying light rift and miasma/howl, and dark rift and lotus/shimmer.
Lacuna is gonna be as hard to breed as Viridian and Zaffer. 😔
I KNEW IT. They just changed the breeding hints for all opposite dragons. Presumably that also means that we can breed them in the rift now.
For those wondering what this means
Instead of a Opposite Dragon (such as Bluefire) Requiring a basic element dragon and anything with the opposite element, opposite dragons now just require both of the opposite elements in the mix. I expect they are going to be popping up much more often now.

Oh thanks for this! I've just managed RdungeonFT ( how I'm labelling them) using DR and am now trying for Ghast by using that with LR: good to know it's possible w RdungeonFT (improvising on Arkynos' recipe lol

Oh goody, I'm not the only one getting dragons with no, zero, 0, nada, zilch Rift traits. If I get one Rift trait out of six breedings I am surprised. Now I find out I have been wasting massive amounts of E trying for Dodo, Malachite, Blue Fire, and Plasma and I'm twice as annoyed. BFS should have gifted us E for all that was spent in vain. Double E for five days is only good if you are not going to be busy in RL and can actually collect it.

I wouldn't call it in vain. Yes, I spent a bunch of time breeding for a dragon that turned out not to be gettable. BUT -- I got a bunch of other dragons I didn't already have. It is early enough in the Rift that even fails were helpful (Blazing, smoke, etc)

Oh happy day in the Rift! Down to the wire, having not yet been able to breed an Ironwrought using three breeding locations, I started thinking, hmmm, maybe they want us to use the Rift for more than just Rift dragons... So I started breeding for Rifty hybrids, got a Scoria/Rift that the sandbox said would pair with my Kampos. My third breeding in the Rift today gave me my Ironwrought!!! Hooray! YippeeYippeeYippee!!! Does Snoopy happy dance all around the house

I e when I wake, all during the day I need to e, and then I top off right before bed with e, too. With double e for the next week or so I haven't slowed down any. We're 2 hours into it and I can't stop checking my notifications to watch my e level. And new e dragons. And e traits.
I know this does wonders for my creative side (shh, please don't burst that fantasy right now) - but I also know where this will lead: Picking up random devices around the house looking for e, searching the dark web for postings about e, how to get an easy e score and what strategies to use.
