Decorating ruminations: bought the ginormous island in a fit of real estate greed; immediately regretted it as I don't do egg islands; been pondering, was going to move Bahamut and Tiamat and their hall etc to the GI, along w all the anniversary statues. Then thought this morning, what if we do get a whole new tribe of rift dragons from the other dimension, and as the GI is so dramatically different from other islands.... I might just use it as the home for Rifties I manage to smuggle past vale boarder patrols. 😈Now THAT feels like a good plan ..... hopefully there will be new types of habitats too ( and a lift in the cap, o please a lift in the gem gobbling hab cap) and decorations.... Happy sigh 😆

I've got 3,334 magic right now, and the timer says I have 23 hours left. I'd love to have one more day to collect from my gifts to reach enough to buy a 4,000 magic dragon. Will I make it? Or will the event end just before I have time?
I feel ya. I wish there was one more day too. I have 3885 magic left, not quite enough for one of the 4000 magic dragons. If I hadn't gotten booted out of 2 exploit attempts I would be golden. However, I was successful twice so I'll just be grateful for that. Anyway, I am fairly certain today is the last day to collect magic. I guess I will get a mystery egg and hold on to it until after the event is completely over as SBF suggested and hope for a rift dragon. I figure with the 1890 I will have left I'll get a decoration and a pedestal. I need air and metal rift dragons so I will choose metal if it is available as a prize on the last day of The Rift Gate mini event. Then I will just need air rift, Alpenslow, Snowsquall and Spore. I haven't had much luck breeding anything during the event. I don't need any dragons except the event ones, so I spent time trying to get pedestals and twins. I have been trying for a blue fire or frostfire pedestal in the EPS and a shadow and mirage pedestal in the EBC for the entire event to date and all I ever get is dark, light and cold dragons with the occasional fire. I seriously mean the entire event. Someone smarter than me might have tried something different, but I have a hard time giving up on stuff. Anyway I got a lot of good stuff with my magic. I made the hard choices and I have to live with them. I had to have the gargantuan island because I could not trust it would be available as a wish. So I do have some work cut out for me, some dragons I need to breed, which is very cool as long as they become available at some point. I enjoyed this event although I missed the excitement of having dragons to try and breed but I made out okay just using magic and it wasn't a bad haul all things considered. I'm pretty happy and grateful. I figure anything I get from an event is bonus stuff that BFS makes available for me to earn just for playing and collecting. I can't ask for more than that.
For me, I'm sure I'll be getting non-twin fails trying to get twins of all the new rift dragons so the pedestals are not a priority for me. Unfortunately I'll only have ~1,000 magic left to spend (but I mean thousands banked that I can't spend, just get DC for 😡😔) so it looks like I'll just get 1 decoration. And then I'm only missing metal rift and spore, metal rift I will get at the end of the rift gate mini event, and since spore is plant/metal I'm hoping it'll be somewhat easy to breed.
Ughhhhhhh don't remind of the banked magic!!! I'm staring at going "I could of bought this, I could of bought that"!!!! Because at the very least I could of bought one more rift dragon.

there are lots of options! Before I put all my eggs on it (twins, non-twins, golden hybrids, twin golden hybrids, limited hybrids, and epics and twin epics), I thought about putting all of my Olympus habitats on it since I have about 10 plus the 2 reward habitats for a total of 12 habitats. You could do a seasonal island, with each corner celebrating spring, summer, autumn, and winter with plant, water, earth/fire, and cold habitats respectively. You could make a topiary maze for the visitors to navigate. You could display all the limited decorations and make a mini calendar with the layout. You could have it showcase all the event dragons/habitats. The possibilities are endless!

Change of plans. I bought Dark and Light Rift with my remaining magic (so happy to finally have both light and dark), then bought a Dark Rewards Habitat and an Alpenglow. I didn't get the Metal Rift like I'd originally planned, and instead I think I'll get the Plant Rift on day 14 when we get our freebie Rifter.
I want both Metal and Plant Rift, but I want Plant more so I'm going with that one instead. I kinda wish I had enough magic for both the Light and Dark Reward habitats. The island that once was my Halloween/fall themed island before I moved everything to the gargantuan island has been transformed into a Light and Dark themed island, and that Dark Reward habitat looks good beside the regular Dark habitat.
Oh well, guess I'll have to wait for BEB to get the Light Reward habitat and more limited Light and Dark decorations. But oh, how beautiful it will look once I'm finished decorating.

I hear you! I carefully worked out how much I would need to get the reward habitats & bought some double magic at the weekend so I'd have just the right amount by the last day to get the last one. Only realised on the last day they were available my mistake & refused to pay 'normal' prices for the extra magic needed. Fortunately I did get the other reward habitats each time I reached the amount needed... so at least I only missed getting one. I used the magic I had left over to get a couple of mystery eggs & ended up with twins I already had 😳
I have to say I have not enjoyed this event one bit. It's been a boring chore & I've really missed the fun of trying for twins during the event.
The only good thing to come out of it is I've never had such a healthy stash of gems!!!

So how did everyone fare? I ended up getting 57,868,000 DC, which I calculated converts to about 1,157,360 treats or roughly 1 round of beanstalks on my 11 treat farms. That's a pretty abysmal reward to be honest, when I know for a fact I have gotten about 100 million treats from the Faire event or at least one of the first few events that we could bank the event currency. I know the treat conversion has been lowering with each event, as I had kept track and saw my treat rewards decline from events from 100 million treats, to 60 or 70 million, to about 19 million, and now to 1 million. I love this game and BFS, but am pretty disappointed we didn't get any treats as compensation for our contributions to the airships, especially with the negative reviews and backlash of this event. I thought BFS might have even given us something small, like 10% or even 1% of the total amount of treats we contributed to the airships. Surely that would be a minor thing they could have done to take away the sour taste left in our mouths from the negative aspects of this event: not being able to breed anything during such a long event, spending far more DC/treats that we got back, having fewer days to collect our banked magic, the glitch that made us think the green progress bar on our house airships weren't moving, the majority of us not getting good results from the egg/dragon rewards, getting DC instead of treats at the end, and the high prices of the dragons, gargantuan island, and habitats. But I'm confident that what's coming next will be much better.
On a side note: to anyone who has kept their mystery egg from the house reward, have you now collected it, since the event is over and the rift dragons are now in the wish market? I want to, but I'm a bit nervous about what I will get as a result.
a relatively modest 12,600,000 DC for me. 2800 unspent magic + whatever i still had banked. but i picked up everything i particularly wanted, so i'm happy.
i can't wait for the rift dragons to be breedable, so i can clear those warnings from the dvbox recompile script.

I cruised all my L95 Friends parks to see if/what they're doing with the Enormous Isle. I saw that Cyn had just had fun with the Jellies and that reminded me of the maze I made waaaay back when Metal first came out. I determined to design it so that the Visitors would have no decisions to make and would just follow the maze. That was fun while I had the room. I'm not feeling so strict now, I so I made a looser maze with the habitat and the Jellies- online print screen

wOMantraNOM, Wasn't just having fun... it is a plan to move my Eggs. Didn't want to start moving them willy-nilly, hence THE PLAN. As you can see, starting at the top will be Light, then Lightning, Cold, Air, etc according to the flag placement. I am going to put the original Eggs on the left of the light tree and mirror image the Twin Eggs on the right side. Still working out how to layout the Epics in the black Jelly area but will group them by catagory: Apocalypse, Dream. etc. As I place the Eggs the Jellies will disappear except on the Twin side where a Jelly will stay until I get the Twin. A visual representation of what I still need to aquire. I left a little wiggle room in the entire plan for new eggs.

What an inspirational layout, Cyn! I'm just starting collecting and laying out pedestals- this is giving me some guidance! I'm pondering using a wish for Gigantic Island so that I can transfer what I've got so far
Thanks, Lattelover! Now that I'm looking at it I might make one change. I started at the bottom with Dark (primordial ooze kind of vibe), then Fire, up to Metal. Looking at it I think I will switch Water and Earth. Water above Earth would make more sense to have Plant next. I'm probably overthinking this!
