Question: If I bought an island out of sequence (like getting the Lost Island of Olympus without owning the regular Lost Island), and I didn't own any islands around it, would it be hanging out in empty space by itself in its normal position, or would it tuck up against the rest of my islands until I bought something that was supposed to lie between them? I'm guessing the former, but I've never had a chance to find out until now...
It floats about on its own. I bought the Gargantuan Island and it's all the way down at the bottom, with a load of empty space between my couple of regular islands.
Not eggs of mystery! You are not guaranteed to get dragons that you need. I would get event dragons or the island. Much more bang for your buck.
Hmm, thanks for the opinion! I already bought all the event dragons. (except air and metal rifts, silly me wasn't paying attention to the timer) I am guaranteed ONE dragon I don't have, right?
the first few mystery eggs that you buy decrease the chance of you getting a dragon that you've never had before with each purchase (if it's the first one you've bought, you're guaranteed to get a dragon you don't have yet, except for the newest rift dragons from this event). Then, after a certain number of mystery eggs that you buy, that chance is just random. koala!

Like you I was not thrilled re DC for Magic. Also I held off on a few purchases worried I wouldn't have enough for the event dragons and the big big BIG 😁Island so now prize tiers are closed, I don't want the decorations or the pedestals.
So on reading your post I thought "What the heck🤷♀️" might as well give it a go since normally I could never "throw" away money etc on a gamble. I bought 3 (yes if I jump I jump BIG 😲). Here's the return on my gamble:
Twin fluorescent; twin Garland & twin Equinox 😲😲😲. All of those for me are good results, none of which did I have twins for. So basically I'm happy since they didn't open the tiers back up these eggs will do!😉

I got a twin snowflake as my daily reward dragon. I missed a day once so I'm always a day behind. But a twin snowflake is very okay with me since I don't have any twin of those dragons. Of course I won't know which one it is until it hatches. And I'm always worried I will identify them incorrectly. I realize that is not likely to happen as it's kind of obvious when you look at them, but I'm a worrier what can I say. I'm not a big fan of only a group identifier for dragons like monolith and snowflake. I prefer to be told which one I have.
I bought my 2nd Mystery Egg and got a twin Midnight, which I needed.
I will have enough magic to either buy another Mystery Egg, or buy 4 pedestals ... what do people think?
On the one hand, I lack approximately half the twin dragons, so going for the M.Egg is a good option. On the other hand, if it is hard to breed the event dragons after the event finishes, then I might be at it for ages.

Update: I decided to buy 4 eggs of mystery and the rift dragon pedestals so I wouldn't have to breed them later. I received polarian and ambrosia, which I didn't have, plus a twin autumn, and, my personal favourite, a twin ovalith! I never thought I'd be able to get a second ovalith, let alone a twin needless to say I'm quite happy with the results.

When you look up the Snowflakes (and Monoliths) in the Dragonarium, the order they are pictured in, from left to right, is the order of their numbering.
To tell the Eggs apart after they have been placed in your collection, put them on different Islands, then look each up in the Dragonarium. "Find" will take you to the one you looked up. This is helpful when you end up with extra unidentified eggs.

YIKES, sorry about that olds! The preceding Mystery Eggs that I purchased were duds so it is good to know that after a string of duds you can get a Diamond in the rough. Or a Ruby!

Thanks to the kind souls that reminded us that the dark and light tier was going to close otherwise I would of forgotten to check and missed getting the last three reward habitats.
For the twin mystery dragon that we got for sending on Magic through the the rift I got a twin swallowtail. Which I needed not only a second but a twin so double check. Then for my daily check in I got a twin tansy, which I also needed a second and a twin so another double check!!
Now I'm debating whether to buy 4 pedestals or but a mystery egg. I am missing a lot of twins and a few seconds. Don't want to risk it and getting a dragon that I not only have a second of but a twin as well. But then again the breeding times for those rift dragons are just stomach churning, then again getting fails for those timers and just selling them would bother me as well. Oh decisions, decisions!!

Unfortunately I'll only have ~1,000 magic left to spend (but I mean thousands banked that I can't spend, just get DC for 😡😔) so it looks like I'll just get 1 decoration. And then I'm only missing metal rift and spore, metal rift I will get at the end of the rift gate mini event, and since spore is plant/metal I'm hoping it'll be somewhat easy to breed.

I've got 3,334 magic right now, and the timer says I have 23 hours left. I'd love to have one more day to collect from my gifts to reach enough to buy a 4,000 magic dragon. Will I make it? Or will the event end just before I have time?
