I am really frustrated. Not having any luck getting any traited spooky dragons.
I'm trying for Bone first - going by the Sandbox and which dragons I have available in the rift, I should be trying fire rift+obisidian or earth rift+obsidian. Dozens of breeds so far during this event with zero luck. I really hate this rift breeding system.

I know what you mean about not having a lot of luck with the Spooky dragons in the rift. I do really think it's just a matter of luck. I don't know if there is anything to this, but it seems like (for me anyway), I've had better luck getting the less common Rift dragons (either the Rift specific ones or the Spooky Rifts) at the more expensive breeds (1000 etherium and higher). Sigh...
While I think it's just a matter of luck, I'd try mixing up your pairing. I don't think there is any "memory" (i.e., a past breeding impacts the current breeding), but sometimes it seems like I've had better luck if I didn't try breeding the same pair over and over. Maybe try the Rift Obsidian with Rift Fire or Rift Earth? Should have the same possible outcomes...

I've had awesome luck with the new Rift dragons but zero luck in getting the Halloween Rift dragons I'm looking for, I so want a collection of Bone Rift Dragons!! Still, plenty of time though, so don't give up hope yet.

I've been getting that message frequently for the last few days. Sometimes I'll see it three to five times in a day even though I keep checking my park throughout the day. It's gotten so annoying that I turned off notifications for the app.

So, if one tries breeding a pair of dragons with the Plant, Fire, Earth and Cold elements (e.g., Rift Obsidian + Rift Lichen or Rift Rift Poison + Rift Mountain) there is chance of getting any of the Spookies, except Bog and Lycan (with Blue Fire as an added bonus). That might not be a bad way to try...at least if you end up with a Double Rainbow, you won't have to wait 60-hours for it to finish! I think I'll have to give this a try!

I don't want to say it's a repeat of the opposite problem, but if nobody here has bred one it could be a repeat of the opposite problem.
Up to 7/11 myself from 60 breeds. Missing Lycan and Bog, though I've not yet been targeting them, Spectre, which is just being elusive, and... Nosferatu. Hmm.

Anything that combines plant, fire, earth, and cold since most spookies have any of those combos.

Aw man, I'm sad to see that the doubles exploit is patch. Even though I can't bring out my phone at school near 12 noon. I was hoping to do it for future events when I don't have school.

I’ve been breeding a rift mountain and a rift poison and I got a trick with water trait, and an ortreat with air trait. So for me it’s definitely not a bad try... 😊

Yeah, sorry, wasn't particularly clear there. I meant 'released but can't be bred' like the opposites were, rather than the specific issue with they had. If Nos can't be bred it'd be the 7pm to 7am requirement that is causing the issues, it shares elements with Decay and that's breedable.
Tbh, it may well be breedable fine and people are just using their breeds too early or being short of koalas. I'm just a bit suspicious about lack of proper QA at the moment. 😒

I've been thinking that... I kinda want to ask the support this question, but I'd feel awkward asking them to do their job.
"Did you make sure this one is breedable? Like, really sure? Did you remember to QA test it?"
Then again, these jokers released the rift with opposite breeding completely non-functional and left it that way for 2 entire weeks, so it's not like they don't deserve this suspicion.
Well darn, looks like they fixed the doubles exploit. I got a screen on my iPad saying “Doubles weekend has ended, please wait while we clean up the candy wrappers.” Actually, it is one less thing to worry about. Now I can go back to scheduling things for Monday’s. 😂 It was good while it lasted.
I'm with you on this! I'm glad I was able to manage mischief a few times, but it was very stressful, as well. A few minutes before reset, I had my Hot Spot activated, and Kindle linked with park active. I actually carried all of this into the restaurant for lunch. When the reload message came up, I thought "Awww", but I thought the reference to cleaning up the candy wrappers was cute, and I proceeded to spend quality time with my family.
I have been able to breed and/ or acquire 7 of the spooky dragons so far, so this event is a very different experience for me compared to my first event,the Mythic Egg Hunt. It's amazing what a difference a few months makes!
I bred a Decay and a Ghost, unfortunately they were regulars not Rifts. I still seem to breed 5-6 regulars for every Rift.
Regarding Nosferatu: If when given the choice of Trick or Ortreat in a few days those of us with the dragons, pedestals, and twins are given a Rift, then we should be able to choose a Nosferatu Rift at the end of the event. Time will tell... ⏰. Just be sure to have the regular and twin.

I was thinking about Day 10 and Day 20 earlier. Didn't they let us pick a Hidden dragon on the last day of the Egg Hunt? Pretty sure that is how I got my Pond. Seems to me like Day 10 should be player's choice out of all the old spookies (including Trick and Ortreat), and Day 20 should be a choice of Dracabra, Spirit, Gargoyle, or Oni (and whatever the surprise dragon might be, if there is one).

You can just go straight Earth Rift and Fire Rift
