Yes, re post above; I'm interested in my differing responses to Rift ( instant breed ) and Vale (wait sometimes for days breed); with the Rift it's exciting to get instant news, but the crushed feeling of failure is the same as I get on the very rare occasions I play the lottery 😜 And I guess that's the gambling urge that BFS are playing with, it's why I could never get hooked, even with a small win. On occasions in the Vale, like last night, I get cross and decide to blow gems ( for frost fluff or whatever it's called) because, only limited number of fails... HA! 8 max fails gem outs and double nursery gem outs later, zilch. I decided last night that my park was set on ' slow and steady' when it was magik'd into existance, because I have got cross like this 3 or 4 times and 'fought' the RNG, and resoundingly lost every single time 😂😂 So Slow and Steady as we go....lol
Lol, I'm a terrible gambler, too! DV gives that Success Frisson just seldom enough to make me feel rewarded but not driven to keep throwing gems at it.
Also, after a lot of tries for Lycan yesterday with my park set to Nightfall (not very dark, is it?) I was successful when I rebred last night. Water Lycan is awesome!

I ended up picking a twin Trick with a dark trait, which matches so well being the same shade of purple! Very happy with my choice, as I previously got a twin Ortreat with a metal trait (but it doesn't look so great lol) from the spooky mystery egg. With the twin Ortreat, I can change the trait with the Transfiguration Tower, so I knew I wanted a twin rift of Trick. That makes 5/11 twin rift spooky dragons 😁 I'd say this event is going pretty well so far.

If you don't have either Trick or Ortreat, you get regular ones. If you have both, you get twins. If you have twins, you can get twin Rift versions.
I have not seen non twin rift versions offered. Maybe if you only had twins of both? Not sure. But twin rifts look cool.
If you were not offered a rift version, you can wait to pick until right before the event closes just in case you get a twin and regular version before then. That is what I am doing for Trick. I actually have both rift versions, but only have the Ortreat twin and Ortreat Rift pedestal. I am hoping I can get a Trick twin before it closes to pick up the other Rift pedestal.
I don't even want to think of how many I probably sold last BEB. I don't usually keep twins unless I need the dragons, but this rift thing will probably change my idea of that if this will be the norm.

Why oh why were you speed breeding with gems in the Vale for Frostfluff? 😱 It can only be bred in the rift...

runs ins to park, checks thru binocs, naw, they only put in a cold rift symbol and SAID this can only be bred in the rift... That's not being open and above board... Aaahhhhhahahahhhhahahhhha 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 that has to be an all time personal best 😇

After a couple of days of nothing but Frostflowers, I finally managed to get a Rift (Lightning) Nosferatu yesterday on the 3rd breed of the day. An Air Lycan followed about 6 attempts later. Was a good day. Missing just Bog and a Spectre now.
No luck on co-oping the event dragons yet though. I have one, a Gargoyle I bought because nobody on my friends list had it blue-hearted, but now there's like a dozen of them... 😅 I think with the success in breeding the Rift!Spookies I'll probably just buy the others rather than the mystery eggs I was planning to.
Once Bog has shown up, I think I'm going to set my Alignment to Cold for 48 hours and see which of Rift!Spectre or the definitely 100% rifty but probably adorable Frostfluff dragon graces me with its presence first. Then I can go back to Viridian attempts... Wait, is this the event thread or the Rift thread? Actually, never mind, this is more of a blog post than a forum one. 🙄 I'd post it to DragonVale hyphen tips dot blogspot dot com instead but someone already claimed that.

I have 2 non-twin, non-rifted nosferatus. I have bred 10/11 rift traited spookiy dragons-
I am only missing noferatu
Will a rift traited nosferatu be an option for me on the day 20 gift?
Or must i need a twin nosferatu first??
To be offered a choice of a rifted dragon, you will need a non twin and twin Nosferatu. My first Nosferatu was a twin last year and I just went for another one a few months ago to get the pedestal...if I had only known then. So now I am trying to get another non twin in my cave.
For those looking for normal versions of their spookies, and were offered a twin spooky with the reward, I assume you'll be able to breed that twin with anything in the rift and clone a non twin once the event is over. My goal is to get at least 1 of each, so that I can eventually get the eggs down the road.

I agree with you. It also stinks when you don't keep twins unless you need to fill gaps like I do. I really don't want to have to keep all these extra limited dragons on hand just in case... but I am already thinking of what Christmas dragons might be rifts/future prizes/choices. Ugh.
I have only managed to get two Rift spookies - a garden and a thicket. Just wondering if anyone else has had equally poor luck getting rifted spookies?

bog: water, plant, fire bone: 2 different decay: fire, earth garden: 1 different ghost: cold, earth lycan: lightning, cold, plant nosferatu: cold, fire, earth ortreat: plant, fire, earth spectre: cold, earth thicket: earth, plant, cold trick: 1 different
I go up to both 2000 purplies every day, all I get are doubles, or non rifts. (Okay, 3 desirable since start of Tails)

Breeding for Spookies using a wide net
Rift was set to Dark trait Thicket (earth trait) & Firefly(fire trait) and I got 2 Thunderbirds in a row 😱😱
Downside I got so flabbergasted that I accidentally fed the first thunderbird past lvl 10 up to 18 before I realized I was draining treats 😝😝
With the demise of game centre I just started in FB to be able to friend people from this forum and join in on the fun. Please message me if you want to send a friend request so I know to watch for you😊, I never check FB otherwise. I'm deleting random requests way too many of those 😮.
Here's another - I picked someone's level 16 Oni and pitched in Elder Earth and it's now sitting on a 12-hour breed time. Checked the possible other results in the Market and it now looks like I've got an Oni coming up.
When I looked at the Sandbox, it seemed like Spirit was the only one of the new dragons that had a unique breeding time.
Oni: 12 hours could also be a Blue Fire, Frostfire, or Spectre (I got the Frostfire)
You're right, my first 12-hour breed was a Spectre. I don't know how you got the Cold dragons (sure you didn't use Elder Cold?), but I never got them. A few more predictable fails later, I got the Oni.

Considering I've been using my Candy to get habitat, path, pedestals & decor (I have to motivate myself), I'm now working on Dracabra (bought the Gargoyle). That way, if worse comes to worst, I can still buy Dracabra and/or a double or two.
It's got a green hourglass in the Dragonarium, and tapping on it brings up the "can only be acquired by collecting candy or breeding" but, it's not in the prize shop (I don't think?) and it's not included in the News info box that lists all the other re-released dragons.
I've been breeding Meteor and Pollen nonstop for days with no luck, so I am wondering if it's actually available?
-just double checked my prize shop and the prize list on pg. 1 of this thread and don't see Zombie in either. Maybe there will be an additional prize tier added??
