I have been trying and trying but all I seem to get is bone after bone, by the end of this event I might just have enough bone pedestals to do a bone fence for the entire island. Elder Cold!
Here's another - I picked someone's level 16 Oni and pitched in Elder Earth and it's now sitting on a 12-hour breed time. Checked the possible other results in the Market and it now looks like I've got an Oni coming up.
I tried Elder Fire with Dracabra earlier, but that seemed harder to crack (more elements). I drew 2 fails before I switched to a simpler combo.

To everyone who said to just breed and the rift alignment doesn’t matter (tongue out). It matters 100% in my park. I can’t get a single dragon, spooky etc. I get randoms that I want to kick to another rift... nightshade, crypt, and the list goes on:(
Sadly, the important thing is luck of the draw. I managed to get 7 of the 11 rift spooky dragons early on. The past 3 days, I've breed 14 times per day (that's up to 5k x2 on the last breeding attempts). That's 42 attempts. Of those, I've gotten 0 rift spooky dragons, not even repeats for eggs. I finally saw a Lycan today, but it was a non rift version. It doesn't mean you shouldn't keep trying, eventually you'll hit a lucky streak and get a few. 10 more days, plus I'm hoping that the dragons we pick tomorrow and at the end for the daily login are rift versions too. Then I'll grab some spooky mystery eggs and hope to finish what I'm missing.
So I saw some tips for spooky dragon need cold/earth/fire and plant combo
Trying Poison (plant/fire) x Spectre (cold/earth) being only two that can get that whole combo and gotten 7 fails in a row with no traits or anything - am I doing something wrong?
Harder to practice Patience and Persistence when we have Instant Breeds with a Breeding Cost (limit). Seven tries is a good start, keep trying!! It's a long game 🐨🐨🐨 👻 🐨🐨🐨

Yes, re post above; I'm interested in my differing responses to Rift ( instant breed ) and Vale (wait sometimes for days breed); with the Rift it's exciting to get instant news, but the crushed feeling of failure is the same as I get on the very rare occasions I play the lottery 😜 And I guess that's the gambling urge that BFS are playing with, it's why I could never get hooked, even with a small win. On occasions in the Vale, like last night, I get cross and decide to blow gems ( for frost fluff or whatever it's called) because, only limited number of fails... HA! 8 max fails gem outs and double nursery gem outs later, zilch. I decided last night that my park was set on ' slow and steady' when it was magik'd into existance, because I have got cross like this 3 or 4 times and 'fought' the RNG, and resoundingly lost every single time 😂😂 So Slow and Steady as we go....lol

Sigh! I have bred nothing but permafrost for days now. Getting sick of permafrost. If I never see a permafrost again, it will be too soon.

But seriuosly, only permafrost? Can't the gods of random chance throw something else in once in a while? Oni, Sprirt or gargoyle would be a pleasant and appreciated fail. 😂

Why oh why were you speed breeding with gems in the Vale for Frostfluff? 😱 It can only be bred in the rift...

Be careful what you wish for...was sick of Permafrosts and now I have the Double Rainbow timer right after I used Kairos. Ha!

You can, but also just plain ones as one of our games got when they were missing lots of spookies and spooky rifts. Luck of the draw...
Go figure, it gave me a regular dragon I already had (no rift). I’m done with gambling, no more wasting gems.... I’m going to concentrate on building my Rift habitats and clearing purple clouds of doom. In the meantime, I don’t care if I don’t get the dragon I am going for (biting my lip). The Rift is not for me.... I hate gambling! Lol
