Hello,
Thanks for your email! The results of an Eggceptional Egg are based on chance, and you are not guaranteed to receive a dragon you don't already own. You are guaranteed to receive a dragon worth over 100 Gems, and you can receive twin dragons or dragons with Rift traits. I apologize for any disappointment with the dragons you received, but this element of chance is part of the design of an Eggceptional Egg. Best Regards, Mike
I think this is deceptive on their part. I didn’t read anywhere that we are guaranteed dragons worth over 100 gems. Is swamp and crypt even 20 gems? Lol I won’t be spending another dime. Poor way to handle the situation if you ask me. Happy Holidays to them!
Btw all except approx 14 dragons are worth over 100 gems. Nice odds!
You did mention you got an event dragon with the 3x egg purchase, plus the swamp and crypt, and the conch came from a mystery egg. Depending on which dragon it was, that's 6-7k worth of iceberries. On a doubles weekend, that's 20 dollars worth of iceberries, for 5 bucks. Sure you didn't get as lucky as some who got 3x new dragons (either did I), but even at 1 it's worth more than anything they had offered in the past, 4x the value. And for those that get lucky with 2 or 3, it's 8-12x the value. Since I always spend about 5 dollars per event, I want to encourage them to keep this egg deal for future events and this will be my purchase for each one.
I did not get extra iceberries for this purchase. They are sitting in my social menu- I want to delete them bc I don’t want to waste nest space. I already spent $5 on 3 eggceptional eggs. This was my 2nd time. So do I feel it’s worth paying $5 for an event dragon I had already bred? No, not at all.

I paid $15 for a muffin, but I got a great deal because it normally costs $60, so that's 4x the value.

It may be the case that much like the quest text in WoW I'm the only person in the world that actually reads these, but it does say all of what Mike said in his answer in the information box for the egg. Admittedly the description is kinda long and I needed to scroll it down on my iPhone to get to the technical shenanigans.
I'm sorry that the RNG didn't favour you with your eggs. It feels kinda bad to get a bad roll, I know, especially on a premium purchase. It's very much in the nature of the game though, sometimes you get the ultra-rare dragon on the first attempt, other times you spend the entire time available and hundreds if not thousands of gems on trying to breed something. (Looking at you, Opal.)
I'm just glad that the game is apparently still profitable enough to be supported, and if the Eggceptionals are positive in that regard then I'm happy about their existence. It could just be my version of the app store, but I don't ever see Dragonvale in the top grossing apps list. If I did I may be more comfortable about the future... There have been a few things that have concerned me (like the acquisition of BFS, DVWorld's launch, but smaller things as well) and as I'm very fond of DragonVale, I don't want it to go the way of Gizmonauts.
As an aside, yeah, the dragon gem costs are pretty wack. They're a bit inconsistent (130 for Apocalypse but 3000 for Sumi, what?) and about 4 times too expensive across the board (with the exception of Apoc I guess) to make it a realistic proposition, like, ever.
Also, I'd reaaaally like a muffin now.

I guess it just depends on the player and your own goals in the game. I come out of every event with two of each dragon, that's my goal with all dragons. So even if I had an event dragon already, and got a second one for 5 dollars, I would consider that one less dragon I need to buy with iceberries at the end of the event. To me, it's 5 dollars that saves me 6k berries, even for a second dragon. Now if I already had two, and got a third, I'd consider it a loss. But if they release the egg purchases in future events I'd likely plan to buy them on the first day and that's it. I find it by far the best value they've given for 5 dollars to date. But you might have to buy it on day 1, before doing anything, to get the most advantage out of it.
I've been playing for 3 months, and I'm having a blast with the jolly jubilee and the bring'em back event! It's impossible to breed every dragon I don't already have, so I'm using the dragons from the rainbow habitats to obtain anything I can😁 (which means I need to have them in double, so 1 set can breed, and the other set can earn money). I'll use my iceberries to purchase all the pedestals I won't already before the end of the jolly jubilee, and I'll also buy the snowflake habitats and the ornamental habitats because winter is my favorite season! Then there's my first wish due for December 31st...

My feedback on the exceptional eggs. Bought twice 1st when event started and had Krampus. 1st purchase super home run ! Candlecrown,Woolen,Kringle The only 3 I needed 2nd purchase when the 2 latest showed up Neoteric Twin,Cold traited twin Glacier,Dark traited twin Wind While technically I did need all of those minor disappointment. So overall it does look like a good deal but can be disappointing.

While I was looking at the news earlier I noticed it was 12:40pm. I chuckled evilly and gave my mustache a menacing twirl... and then set an alarm for 12:56.
Fifteen minutes later, I was knee-deep in the litterboxes. The alarm sounded, so I dropped the scooper and dashed to my iPad. I opened the DV app and doodled around, collecting some coins and watching the event counter. At 1 PM it reset! Cackling all the while, I opened the Social menu...
High on my points, I did a celebratory jig and then sashayed into the family room to explain to my husband about double point weekends and Mischief. It was my first time and I was so proud. And so smug. As I told my tale, his eyes glazed over (as they tend to do when I talk about my dragons) and he gave me a (vaguely) congratulatory grunt. Then he said, "Isn't it Sunday today?"

*facepalm*
Oops!
Also, based on the timer in the social menu it looks like we have double berries through Christmas. So that's an extra day for everyone and no chance to try for mischief until Tuesday this time.

I have all four omnitats already so the "Mirthful Market" won't let me look at the information for the upgraded version. If I update in my park for the 5495 berries, what do I get for my money? More slots, higher limits etc.? Can someone give me the specs please?

The sandbox is incorrect for starshine lol I got so excited until I got over a 24 hour fail!
?
maybe skeeter622 tried starshine + starshine in the sandbox? When I did that, the only results I got were motley, starshine, and dazzling. I think starshine contributes plant, fire, earth, cold, and air, given its two parents.

Just in case some of you don't know, there is an OLYMPUS reward habitat available in the market for 75 gems (I found out today), and it doesn't count towards the limit!
Merry Christmas! I hope everyone is having a fun and festive day today!
Does the Large Snowflake Habitat for 3 million DC really hold 5 dragons?? Despite the description, I have some doubt:
No "Add an Egg" button. That's what has me suspicious. Bottom pic is when the ? box is tapped.
I don't have an extra snowflake dragon kicking around in Hibernation, so can't test it out. It doesn't really make sense that the DC habitat would have the same capacity as the 150 gem habitat and the 2800 Iceberry Reward habitat? Something seems off- why would anyone spend 150 gems when they could spend 3 million DC for the same thing? (There is also a 1 million DC habitat with a capcity of 4, but that one makes sense, so it isn't bothering me😁)
Trying to figure out if I actually have enough room in this habitat for the 5th snowflake dragon, or if I should replace it with the Reward habitat.

If you don’t exclude starshine as a parent, there are only 2 offspring which gives you a 50% chance.... it’s obviously wrong.
