Well, this is it. Every winner of the POTMs for 2017 (in some cases there were ties for 1 month - I included both posts then). So, who's post was the funniest?
With the new year, comes a new installment of POTM - POTY. It works like this:
You find a post you like and you nominate it for Post of the Month. You do this by quoting the post and adding the comment "Post of the Month" or if you think you can't pull it off, simply "POTM". A Mod will move your POTM Reply to this thread. Conversely you can right click on the "Link to Post" at the bottom of each post and Copy Link Location. Then post in this thread with "Post of the Month" (or "POTM" if you think you can), right click in the thread and Paste. You cannot nominate your own post ... I mean c'mon ... that's just really lame ... no matter how cool/funny/clever/poignant you think you were. Each post can only be nominated once. The first person to do so gets the nod. On the 1st of next month (or thereabouts, I mean, we're all working folks here, well most of us) we'll make a Poll with all the nominated threads and everyone here will be invited to vote for their favorite thread. You'll have about a month to vote. So at the end of next month we'll have a winner, or more accurately, two, because the original poster AND the person who nominated them wins. What do you win? Gems of course. The mods will pay the winners. At the end of the year, all the funny posts are reviewed, and the winnner of each month gets 1 poll option in the collective POTY poll. Here, you can only select one post from the year to win.
I know there is not one for January 2017, it looks like I started doing the POTMs for February and after. But there are a few months that had ties, so we have more than 12 posts anyways.
So, to sum up. - Make good posts. - Nominate good posts. - Vote for posts. - Profit. - Have a laugh.

Timers glared at me from all around, and I just wanted to make them go away. Gems..." *hangs head low*... "so many gems, all lost, and nothing to show for it. And there I was again, with all those timers, wanting desperately to just make them stop. It's the anticipation. I just can't take it... 8:11:38... 8:11:37... 8:11:36... I had to reach for the gems, but, I panicked. Instead I ran, left the DV, but those timers, those awful timers, they still haunt me... 8:09:32... 8:09:31..." *lies on the ground trembling*... "Make them stop. MAKE THEM STOP!"
No, I have a secret technique that works every time.
First, you get your Newt and your Mistral going. Every 5th breeding attempt, you raise one of them by 1 level. Every 7th attempt, you swap them - right dragon goes on the left, and the left one goes on the right. Don't forget to occasionally give your tablet an affectionate rub while telling it that it is loved. If you're playing this on a phone, buy a tablet.
Then you stop doing that immediately and use 1200 gems on retrying. At this point, you should have Pisceia. I did this and it worked, so it has a 100% success rate. 👌

I laughed so hard thinking of all the crazy ways of trying to finesse the breedings for success.
Dont forget lucky sweaters that can only be washed on Tuesdays at Midnight on a full moon otherwise it's Wednesdays at noon if it is sunny!
Only use the right pinky finger to press the breed button once the dragons are ready which in itself MUST be done in the right order after they have been fed the special recipe treats. sorry I can't share the recipe it makes dragons way to giddy to be safe around the public. Can't pass on a hazard you know liability and all.
Oh yes and one must kidnap a royal koala from Magpac without his knowledge and strategically hide it in the best (safe) corner of the breeding cave.
There I think I have all the secret steps to DVW breeding success although I can't teach you the magic moon dance it is much to silly Ahem 😒 I mean sacred to share in these public forums.

I mean I already am married and have five kids, but if you're okay with that (oh and of course a move to Utah) the offer is out there

Hello, my name is EuroKnuter, and I'm an E3M addict.
I've been rifting for several weeks now. It started innocently enough - I was sure I wouldn't be one of "those" players who check and re-check to see if my air ship is ready, my habitats were ready to collect, my stash nice and full for the next expenditure. I would just keep it social, you know? Casual usage of e. Now, in the last week, I dunno, it's just been so much easier to e. I e when I wake, all during the day I need to e, and then I top off right before bed with e, too. With double e for the next week or so I haven't slowed down any. We're 2 hours into it and I can't stop checking my notifications to watch my e level. And new e dragons. And e traits.
I know this does wonders for my creative side (shh, please don't burst that fantasy right now) - but I also know where this will lead: Picking up random devices around the house looking for e, searching the dark web for postings about e, how to get an easy e score and what strategies to use.

I know what you mean. It's the first thing I check when I wake up and the last thing before I go to sleep.
It would be really nice if the etherium rewards for races, quests, and clearing whirlpools (and anything else I've forgotten; oh yeah, the airships) were somehow linked to increase with the number of habitats purchased or miasmic clouds cleared. 20 and 50 etherium seem pretty measly when you have to buy a habitat for 11,000 or more, or clear a cloud for 9,000 or more...
Yes, I stopped. And I had to have "the talk" with my Rift dragons. It went something like this:
"I honor and respect you, and would do anything for you that was truly necessary. But this one-sided high-maintenance relationship has to change - I just need some space to pursue my dreams, ya know? To engage in some self exploration and personal growth. No, no, no, it's not you, it's me! I will continue to do the big chores, but 20 e3M isn't doing it for me like it once did"
After a while, the new boundaries were indeed acceptable and everyone, especially the dragons, are much happier and healthier now
While I was looking at the news earlier I noticed it was 12:40pm. I chuckled evilly and gave my mustache a menacing twirl... and then set an alarm for 12:56.
Fifteen minutes later, I was knee-deep in the litterboxes. The alarm sounded, so I dropped the scooper and dashed to my iPad. I opened the DV app and doodled around, collecting some coins and watching the event counter. At 1 PM it reset! Cackling all the while, I opened the Social menu. High on my points, I did a celebratory jig and then sashayed into the family room to explain to my husband about double point weekends and Mischief. It was my first time and I was so proud. And so smug. As I told my tale, his eyes glazed over (as they tend to do when I talk about my dragons) and he gave a (very) vaguely congratulatory grunt. Then he said, "Isn't it Sunday today?"
