EGGSTRAORDINARY EGG HUNT 2018

Yay! Managed to breed both a non-Rift and a Rift Hooded! Same breeding pair both places - Love and Metal (Rift). Now I need to decide if I’m going to go back to trying for a Celtic Rift or try for one of the limited sun/moon dragons currently available...

No luck here yet on Hooded, but I bought one of the new Rift Monolith eggs and it was my missing Mono5 (non-traited)! That means now I can pick Cumberpatch for the last calendar gift, so super happy!☺️

Several false alarms on Hooded in the Park, though– there are a bunch of 12 hr dragons with those types.

Hi. Welcome to the crazy house kaleen. I used to live in Indiana which never switches time zones. Prime time shifts from central time to eastern. Or visa versa. One day your watching 7-10 with local news at 10P the next day it’s at 8-11, with news at 11. Very weird.

Oh my wizards! I finally got a dragon from the golden egg today! It was a Twin Nova, which I already have the twin for and a twin ped. I always try to be positive with everything BFS gives us, but this time I am truly disappointed.

That is truly a bummer. I have only got one dragon egg from the golden egg, thankfully it was a twin I needed. One of our other family games has got one almost every day with several of them being new... it is odd how these things work.

These golden eggs are weird. I've had none in my main game (just the 1 gemstone every day) and one in my mini game. It was a Lotus twin, which I already had. My mini is only level 24, so it's missing A LOT of dragons- like 3/4 or more of them. I was very disappointed it gave me a repeat.

I got cumberpatch in the coop. I am not usually able to breed any of the event dragons. A very eggstraordinary occurrence for me. I'm doing a happity hop hop dance. YAY!

You know what I find particularly annoying with eggs of mystery and BFS gifts and such...you have to collect them regardless of how useless they are to you. Bad enough when they are nothing that you need, but now they get to take up room in the nursery, if you ever want to get rid of them that is. It's adding insult to injury.

Too bad you can't clear them like with twins from from friends. At least with useless rifted eggs of mystery and gifts you don't have to incubate them.

Due to the fudge from Golden Eggs, I am keeping my nursery full of eggs, even buying plant dragons if a space clears up.

My social menu is starting to clog up with the fudge though.

I'm beginning to suspect my event border of being either bugged or a troll. I've been over my park three times in path edit mode super zoomed just this log-in, trying to find whatever egg(s) it is I'm missing, and there are none to be found. Even keeping an eagle eye out for banner bearers on the off chance they're triggering it too and I have found a few stragglers, but none on the last pass. Found the golden egg early, so it's not like I'm missing out on the potential for bonus rewards, but arg!

Yeah that is annoying, they should have more options regarding those eggs.
Also, why do some eggs have to go straight to the nursery but not into your gifts.
Got an egg yesterday in the daily calender and it went straight into my nursery,
clogging everything up. It is still a problem there and now I am stuck wasting 
a bunch of gems or just hardly breeding anything at all.
Already wasted quite a few on this problem yesterday.
Would have been a totally different situation if this one egg hadn`t come along 
to disturb everything. Was a really long timer also.

What exactly are the rules on which eggs go where, am I supposed to remember this?
Well, not with all the loose wires in my brain. 
This is just putting me in a not so pleasant mood ☠️💀💀💀☠️👿👿👿👺

I would have been better off paying gems to hatch this one egg immediately,
but it is too late to be wise now, so I am stuck in this ongoing mess.

I think the short answer is that if you buy the mystery egg (like with etherium), it hatches into your gifts for you to incubate when convenient; whereas if you receive it as a bonus (community eggs, daily login eggs, dragons from golden eggs and chests), once triggered it hatches directly into your nursery.

HOWEVER, it can only go to the nursery if there's space available, so the trick is to try to have your hatchery full if you're going to be doing something where you might trigger one of these eggs (or else have enough space free to receive it conveniently, of course).

Caveat: I don't remember what happens when you buy a mystery egg with event currency, so if the opportunity comes up again, best to assume the worst and manage your hatchery accordingly before buying it.

With the download update came this gem: Hidden eggs around your park in new surprising locations
I think Kiwichris mentioned it in an earlier post.

This is the first event where I do not find all the Hidden Eggs before reset. I don’t know where these “surprising locations” are but I haven’t found them. At first I thought... maybe in the Rift? Nope. Then thought... they changed the Gem Island, maybe eggs can now be everywhere party hats show up? Nope. Then thought... what if BFS is putting them on top of the cubes which everyone uses to keep eggs from landing there? Nope. I’m 😶 (flummoxed)! I just keep going into my park hoping they’ve moved to somewhere I can find them. If anyone finds an egg in a “surprising location” kindly let us know this mysterious new hiding place.

Yep; the event border is def tracking both eggs AND element flag bearers, the wee flag tracks just the normal flag bearers per usual
the wee wily wandering wizard doesn't seem to be tracked

i have found that logging in and out either triggers another drop of eggs/element flag bearers, OR they 'port around to new positions during the shutdown.... 
Have lost persistence tho to find everything by the end of the day; have managed it twice only so far this event, if I haven't spotted them all by bedtime, they win 😜

Consider this a HUGE whine! Haven’t been able to get hooded or any other new dragon- have spent hundreds of gems speeding up breeding. I’ve found the golden egg twice but no dragon. At most, I’ve seen 4 eggs in my park on a single day. The average is 2-3. ARGHHHHHHH

Its been a week, no more event dragons via cooperative breeding, no hooded, even wasted some eggs on event breeding cave. Nothing.
I've given up on this event, I'll just have to try during BEB.

And the Olympic fails from rift ovalith attempts are extra frustrating knowing that BFS will eventually add rift traits to them.

My son's game, which I play now because he no longer does, has been pretty lucky during this event. He's gotten rift Celtic, rift Clover, no rift Ovalith but he has rift Panlong and rift Bloom so I can at least try for Ovarift. Had to buy Rosebud but he had the roses to do it. Was able to breed Hooded in the rift and got a regular and rift Hooded in his game, and a Hooded in the regular cave for the egg. My own game has had LOUSY luck - I had to spend real money to get Rosebud after a failed try in the event cave before I realized how tight the roses would be. Plus, I have no rift Panlong so no possibility of Ovarift. I have no rift Celtic or Clover and no Hooded of any kind. Lucky that I get to the daily max without frustrations or I'd want to toss my device across the room. My game is NOT having the luck of the Irish in this event!

I'm having the same bad luck. I've barely gotten anything since this event started. Given BFS' recent trending toward 'pay to win,' it wouldn't surprise me if they lowered breeding chances across the board. It's feeling pretty ridiculous and I've been around since the early days.

My luck in this event has also been less than stellar. I've not been able to breed a single event dragon. It's becoming quite discouraging.
