I don’t know what DV’s end game is with this event, but I can’t imagine it’s going to go well for them. In the past it has seemed that events encourage members to log in multiple times a day to collect event currency. Now I log in long enough to breed/hatch and don’t bother to do much else. I can’t even earn stars another way and/or bank stars for a Community Egg, so once I hit my max stars (usually through the Rift), I’m done for the day.
Yes, thank you to...I can’t remember who and I couldn’t find...got my limits the past 2 days w/out even looking for Stars.

... After my 24 hour fail breed which after speed up resulted in a 48 hour fail breed, I foolishly sped that up and got a 46 hour what is sure to be Bronze fail. Looks like I will have to use my event currency for both new dragons and pedestals in a repeat of the last few events. Maybe I should only use level 4 dragons to breed, level 20s seem to be a curse.
O I'm so glad I'm not alone in those sequences 😜
I do it at the beginning of EVERY event, and EVERY time I waste gems on speed ups and looooong fails I am such a slow learner lol

Has anyone bought the 5th galaxy island? Are upgrade costs the same as for the other galaxy islands or is it an astronomically high amount of dragon cash or worse: gems?
Oh shoot! I did buy the 5th galaxy island but did not write down the costs of upgrades. The first 3 were DC, if I recall correctly(it WAS yesterday afterall and this old brain can’t work that far back), and there was definitely a gem uograde as well. I do not remember thinking it was astronomical, but I have a ton if DC currently so may not have noticed. The gem cost I think was around 150 or so...but again, not entirely sure.
I did the upgrade for the new galaxy island, the last upgrade was 25 gems. The other upgrades were reasonnable DC but I did not note how much they were.
Has anyone gotten a Glimmerwing fail that included fire or dark when the second parent didn't have either element? Glimmerwing+Earth = Cyclops (Lightning, Water, Metal) Glimmerwing+Prometium = Geode (Water, Earth) Glimmerwing+Dark = Surge (Lightning, Water) Glimmerwing+Copper = Plasma (Lightning, Water)
These four pairings seem to indicate that Glimmerwing has at least Lightning, Water, Metal and Earth as its elements. Alas Geode has the same fail length (23 hours), so I guess it doesn't really matter, but I was hoping to find a pairing that introduces the least additional elements into the mix. Although, I guess that means Rainbow, Party, Double Rainbow, and some of the Treasure dragons are in the mix as fails...

Those elements are also consistent with what the Sandbox gives as results, but both are inconsistent with results that other players here and on a Facebook group have been reporting. So I'm wondering if Glimmerwing has six elements (adding water and earth to the ones listed on the wiki), only four (water, earth, lightning, and metal) or all elements (like Solarflare).

I highly doubt it will be available for purchase, at least not in the near future. I can't think of any limited event thing that was purchasable right after the event.

Have to choose between 5th galaxy, weather station or meridiem/celestial habitat. With these reasonable upgrade prices 5th galaxy might be the better choice...

But oh boy, I'll join you in this exploding business if it turns out to be available for a few million up to like 5 billion DC after the event... (Somehow 5 billion and upward prices feel high enough to justify spending Star Dust on it. )
Just confirming ....this 5th galaxy island if purchased during event does NOT count toward our habitat limits? So another reason to get now? I am really laboring over this decision, just cannot make up my mind what to spend this precious star dust on... want those meridiem & celestial habitats and also just remembered about the possibility of them springing a new surprise dragon (that is limited for purchase to 24 hours or such) that they have done in previous events....what do you wise valers think about that? What to do...what to do 🤔....

I also bred 2 geodes trying to get Glimmerwing. Sped it up because I thought I got lucky...not.
So I just ran the numbers, 1000 per day, 13 days, 1 doubles weekend, +500 today and no other bonuses from calendars, banking, etc, that's 16,500 total. To buy both new dragons: 17,575. To get the limited Galaxy island too, 22,510. Not even counting the two new Celestial/Meridiem habitats for 4625 each.
This is certainly the first event where you can't get all the new dragons without purchases, minus the rosebud fiasco last event that ended up being fixed. Or an event where a minor purchase can get you everything new. On the flip side, these dragons should be breedable after the event, so you can perhaps skip them and go for habitats. That's 14,185 for all the habitats, leaving a little over 3k left over.
Guess this means my alt accounts need to get the Galaxy dragons, and I'll focus on the habitats. Collecting on those alt accounts that have smaller rifts is going to be painful..
Breeding the Galaxy dragons has always been more challenging, though. Although this might not be my favorite event, especially considering my unheralded late arrival, I do think it's interesting to have a different kind of event.
Also, remember, whatever one does not get now, *might* come back during the summer event. NK >^..^<

Me three. I wasn't as disappointed as I would have been had I not seen you guys' posts. But I still threw gems at it cause I couldn't wait to find out.

I actually think none of the galaxy islands/habitats count towards the habitat limit. So I expect this one to follow the same rules.
I still haven't decided on buying it. I had really hoped to finally get the weather station during this event, but in the end real estate and dragons to fill said real estate feel like a better investment. What to do, what to do.. I'm leaning towards buying the galaxy island now and hoping one of the new dragons will show up somewhere on co-op so I might have a shot at breeding one of these beautiful creatures. But then again, there's no guarantee that will actually happen...
BFS should release an Eternal Doubt dragon soon.. Have it constantly changing looks and fly around looking pensive... I could try and have a chat with it on difficult decision days like these.. Maybe do a little flip-coin-scorching-the-side-not-to-choose-action... Repeating threefold obviously...
I went with the 5th Galaxy. I have older tech so I would just be setting the Weather Station to None anyway to save on RAM... and I prefer real estate displaying dragons and making dc (rubbing my hands together in acquisitional glee) I'll keep trying to clone the dragons and set my sights on the other 2 habitats for event cash. It's hard as mentioned before by other people due to lack of in-Game Friending - I also do not have very many DV FB friends so hard to find these rare dragons to clone with, especially in my baby park. ☹️

Add three Cyclops to that but I finally bred a Starlight in the Co-Op with someone elses Starlight and my LEVEL 4 Metal. Unbelievable! Trying for Glimmerwing now with viviane’s Glimmerwing and my low level Promethium.
