What a busy month! With the new month, comes a new installment of POTM. It works like this:
You find a post you like and you nominate it for Post of the Month. You do this by quoting the post and adding the comment "Post of the Month" or if you think you can't pull it off, simply "POTM". A Mod will move your POTM Reply to this thread. Conversely you can right click on the "Link to Post" at the bottom of each post and Copy Link Location. Then post in this thread with "Post of the Month" (or "POTM" if you think you can), right click in the thread and Paste. You cannot nominate your own post ... I mean c'mon ... that's just really lame ... no matter how cool/funny/clever/poignant you think you were. Each post can only be nominated once. The first person to do so gets the nod. On the 1st of next month (or thereabouts, I mean, we're all working folks here, well most of us) we'll make a Poll with all the nominated threads and everyone here will be invited to vote for their favorite thread. You'll have about a month to vote. So at the end of next month we'll have a winner, or more accurately, two, because the original poster AND the person who nominated them wins. What do you win? Gems of course. The mods will pay the winners.
So, to sum up. - Make good posts. - Nominate good posts. - Vote for posts. - Profit. - Have a laugh.
This event stinks for people with no friends. I have to buy the 5th Galaxy Island because I am suffocating in dragons. Which means I can only afford one of the new dragons by the looks of it. My extra park has to buy the other one since that park is my only coop friend. So no new habitats or probably even pedestals for me. The worst thing is that I can`t even start trying to clone either of the new dragons until the event is almost over, as soon as I can afford them. With the lovely new breeding odds it looks like I will be stuck cloning these dragons for the rest of the year, really looking forward to that.
To add salt to my wounds, Dragonvale currency is ridiculously expensive. Someone here said you pay 50$ for 6750 stardust in USA. Which, in my opinion, is daylight robbery. Well I did the math and I have to pay 72$ for the same amount in Denmark. Probably because the salaries are higher here. Well since I don`t have that luxury salary, this is way above my price range. So I won`t be buying anything from Dragonvale and especially when they are trying to force me to do so. I will rather be buying Playstation 4 games on sale, that is a lot cheaper. I can get something between 2 and 6 whole games there for the price of half a dragon in Dragonvale (Depending on which games you want, maybe only 1 game if it`s brand new). OK sorry, a WHOLE dragon when there is a sale, whooooa... Ridiculous...

It would be fabulous if we could sort dragons by level in the hibernation cave and when using Bahamut/Tiamat. Either another little button to press and then enter the level number we're after, or just a 'list by increasing/decreasing level' button. Currently, (and I'm sure this isn't just me), we are faced with a rather tedious situation after hatching level 1 dragons into the cave to sell, or possibly just to re-home from temporarily housing them there at an earlier time. The process goes as follows: tear the infant from its mother's bosom and fling it into the dark chasm of forgotten souls, and then have to scroll down through that veritable legion of sleeping beauties to dig out the barely-breathing waif. And then repeat with its pitiful peers.....
Maybe that's been suggested before, and if so, then I wholeheartedly agree. It would also be really nice to be able to transfer multiple decorations/items at once, or switch the islands' locations. I've been considering getting the gargantuan or massive or whatever island that I missed and using it for pedestals, since they overflow on the regular islands, but I'm daunted by the task of moving them one by one all the way across the map

I do not need 100 Bone rift dragons! Go do my races/quests to grab a 50E pack (only 3,000 more of those and I can get another island) Check my coop cave. After 150 breeds I finally got a Pharaoh from Pharaoh + Pharaoh....oh never mind that isn't a twin...my next breed of course will be a twin of a dragon I don't need! Let's check my free daily Ts'aishen chest. I'm sure to get a piece! Nope, 23 "abundant essence" again. Banner people check...20,000 DC, might grab 1 gem Roll for levels up on 12 and 13 dragons. Roll a 1 or a 6 or a 4. Well there is always BEB, twin weekend and tomorrow

Well, the dye is cast for me now...i went ahead and bought the galaxy habitat (bit of a bummer when you have to immediately add $50,000, $500,000, $5,000,000 & then 25 gems to it to make it worthwhile)

That`s a pretty expensive upgrade cost you have got going there. But hey, this wouldn`t even surprise me with the costs constantly going up in Dragonvale. I suspect they would want to add even a few more zeros to that to help pay for their poop game Cyn was talking about earlier.

Just to be clear, it's 50k, 500k, and 5 million to upgrade with coins, not 5 billion for the last. It doesn't dent any accounts with 1 billion+ gold saved.
OMGosh! So sorry for that error! Was surely unintentional (and i was trying so hard to be accurate too). I have always had trouble w/zeros in numbers when they go that high! lol!

Signed into the game a couple hours after reset because I was repairing my solar gate. Did my collections and then rolled a 20 with Tiamat bringing a level 16 dragon to level 17! YIPPEE! Used a couple of Gems to speed up another fail trying for Glimmerwing and tried again and got a 23 hour timer. Didn’t get too excited knowing it could be Geode. A few breeds in the Rift with Alpenglow+Lotus yielded nada. Spent the next a couple of hours trying to repair my two solar attic fans, two summers of use and the motors are shot. After doing a tour of motors on Amazon I decided to collect from my game. Got on and realized I had not opened my free Ts'aishen chest. Clicked it and got my FIRST FREE PIECE! YIPPEE! A thousand essence piece leaving me with the two 1750 pieces to finish Stage 1. Popped into the Rift and a couple of breeds later got a Rifted SPROUT which I was actually trying for! YIPPEE! WHAT IS GOING ON TODAY? Has my luck changed? Are the stars aligned? Does dragonin have some kind of magical powers?!? I decided to press my luck and used 14 Gems to speed up my Co-Op Cave. HOLY, MOLY, A GLIMMERWING! YIPPEE! As I said: WHAT IS GOING ON TODAY? More importantly, why am I on here and not catching a flight to Vegas to put my entire life savings on black? Used Gaia to hatch my Glimmerwing which I am keeping at a lower level and am sharing it now. Quick... everyone rub dragonin ’s head!
No success at all. I have been trying for weeks to breed an arbor and before it became available, a shield. Apparently it can still be done and quite easily by some. But I'm in the same boat as you. Koala for your future endeavors.
On a different subject but using the previous paragraph as a sort of segue, one issue for me is that although I understand intellectually that every breeding attempt is a brand new try and it matters not one whit if you've tried one time or a hundred times there is no record kept of how many attempts with a particular pair one has made and therefore no advantage to staying with the same pair and not changing it up, I have a hard time accepting it on a feelings level. Consequently I end up committed to breeding the same pair for a very long time. Another issue for me is writing over long sentences.
We recently emerged from the forest into the Savannah types have a struggle to relinquish the idea of magic and mystery indeed, (dang I was trying for a really long sentence in solidarity and have already run out of puff), (unless, of course, using parentheses and rambling on recursively about the non topic in an effort to extend the length of the sentence in solidarity can be counted), (in the aforementioned attempt, that is), well, here's hoping 😆 although in my case I switch between your tactics and the opposite; 'if after 5 rolls it hasn't worked, the RNG is obviously stuck in a groove and the breeding pair needs changing up', which is then often followed by; 'do a one trial change to rest and reset the RNG'. I'm out. 😈
strange... something seems to have gone awry at the KTRS (koala tourism routing station), and i am surrounded by twin electrum koalas. which would be fine, except that they all smell vaguely of gin and keep trying to steal my good scissors. i've tried calling the station master, but my calls keep going to the voice mail of something named 1-800-dial-a-pudding. i'm not entirely sure what they do, but the "leave a message" doesn't encourage that they have anything to do with koalas or the routing thereof. does anyone know how to contact the station via IRC or something?
vonfirmath Deepest apologies for the >9000 twins I have sent hurtling in your general direction in my failed attempts to clone a Starlight off of the one you kindly have up for those on your list! I used Kairos three times and around six hundred gems, and I am most sincerely repentant for having exposed you to my bad luck! On the plus side, I did manage to get a Misfortune off of you at an earlier time, though, and just couldn't remember who on the forum you were. But, now that I've recalled, thank you for that!
I ended up buying my second Meridiem habitat, my first Celestial (can't remember why I missed getting these in the prior events), and the 7th Galaxy habitat (missed the 5th). I don't like not having all the dragons, but as with others here, I thought the habitats should be a priority as the dragons are (theoretically) clone-able and might possibly come up as a sign-in gift in the future, or I suppose they may be back in a future event, too. Though...with the way this event went, I don't know how optimistic I should be about picking up missed past prizes in future events, as this time it wasn't even possible to obtain only the newest prizes with the event currency we were allocated.
All in all, not too thrilled as this mini-event thing is coming to a close; I found this game enjoyable as it was possible to complete the little goals I had for myself, but lately things seem less lucky and friendly. I simply must resign myself to having three hideous, hideous, tragic grey dumbbell blobs in my Dragonarium where the new Galaxy dragons' faces, and the cold, distant, condescending face of the elite and elusive Rosebud, should reside. I know what they think of me. I know how they inwardly scorn me and haughtily reject my every proclamation of firm intent to have them, my passionate pursuits. They wish I knew when to quit. And if I love them, I should let them go. Or whatever. Something.
On a side note, I keep having the same glitch I posted on the forum before, with all the letters and numbers disappearing. It's somewhat crucial to be aware of how much food you are feeding a dragon, those voracious riftlings in particular, lest you simultaneously engorge it beyond its jealous peers and empty your larder witlessly.
