So I paid gems for a few more turns yesterday in the dragon drop game (and actually got one chest!). I have not seen any chests since in the "free" turns we are allowed every 6 hours. In either dragon drop or spin the wheel. So now I have to pay for even the chance to land on a chest? Once time that I paid gems, there was no chest (just a gem). I have been looking for Whitbee throughout the day, but he hasn't given any free chests, either. Are other people still getting chests during their "free" turns? Or did paying for more turns eliminate that option for me? I'm not very good at either game (I typically ignore these games during the events), so I don't feel like spending a lot of gems on them. I was hoping for some chests during the regular turns.
I haven’t paid for any extra turns. I had a free chest show up on the very first play of the event and won. I have had one other show up and missed in dragon drop and one show up on the wheel and missed it as well. Whitbee has been stingy and not given up anything to me yet.

Yep, whether they’ve just got tough, or maybe only once a 24 hour day, none of my 6 hour free turn changes now contain chests... Maybe it’s because (as someone else wondered) I purchased additional ddrop and spins with gems, so they are punishing that expenditure just as they punish the in game purchasing by removing free watch ads for gems... dunno Wait and see if a new RL day brings another free chest in the free games... Way to take the small amount of fun away bfs, being coached by the Marquis de Sade at all?😈😈😈
and just to totally suck it dry of fun; am I right that the arena does not give any candy to my friends contributing dragon...tight! Scrooge it bfs! and therefore also, once I reach the daily limit there is no point in playing the arena? O deary deary me...
so the ‘I swear I am up to no good’ challenge is how to make this ‘event’ useful; yeah, use the Rift for breedable event draggies, and catch up on breeding missing spooky dragons, and if perchance we get a transformable, great ... wishing humoungous hairy hoardes of drop bears to one and all 🐨🐨🐨🐨🐨🐨🐨🐨🐨
POTM for spilling the beans (not event beans, those are physically incapable of overflowing this 'event' as there are indubitably rings of infernal flames around the tops of our bean jars to incinerate any bounty we might have had and thus prevent any insidious 'bean-banking') on the true mentor of BFS. Good attitude, too; I'm thinking I just won't buy any extra chests and if I miss all the dragons, whatever--and if I get any, brill. Oh, and your lovely little line of alliteration was the cherry on top.
The best thing about this dreadful year in the Laboratory of Evil has been the many amusing posts of people on this forum using the wizardly art of humour to cope with the multiple disappointments there have been!
Aha! Except! They who shall not be named ( yes I’m re-reading the HP series) as yet have not made us forfeit the mini candy banking bequeathed thru duplicate thingy gathering... so shhhhhh 😈

I can confirm that buying a chest with candy does NOT guarantee you an ornament that you don’t already have. BFS has taken a greedy turn for the worst. Their goal seems to be getting us to spend money. I will not spend a penny while this trend continues. I don’t mind supporting good developers but this new tactic of theirs is wrong. I feel bad for any new players.
They had SUCH an opportunity to make this regeneration a great idea going forward AND pull back forgotten areas of the game...if they had made the collectible pieces rewards in the quests and at the dragon track, instead of making them virtually unattainable! Judy
Don’t waste your time with Howl/Miasma to get Hufflepuff Chimneypuff. (Pollyanna this is your fault) As soon as I switched to Air R and Dark R I got a one on my second try. Thanks to a few people here who reported succesful breedings. Same thing happened in my extra park, seems like switching to the primary ones works better. Maybe just fluke, no clue, or some weird new set of Rift rules. Who knows these days.

I got a chest on a free turn in spin the wheel! I landed on the gem by random chance (my spinning skills are not great), and the next turn there was a chest. AND I LANDED ON IT!! Probably the only luck I will have for this event, but I'll take it However, the experience did not repeat when the game switched to the dragon drop. I happened to land on the gem, and it switched to all candies. I'm hoping that by practicing these games (which I usually ignore), I'll get some skill and so at the end of the event I'll be able to buy some turns and have half a chance at getting a chest. Right now it would just be random, and I'd waste a lot of gems and get frustrated trying.
On a different note, I bred a Monomanu in the coop (one of the dragons I wasn't able to get from the last event) and have been gifted a twin Limulimu and Humuhumu by coop friends in the last couple days. Those are the most interesting twins I've gotten in a long time! So I'm just missing the Honuhonu and Kaiju from past events.

It seems that the message, You have magical visitors in your park" never goes away even after I've found all of my banner bearers and Whitbee. I know that Whitbee shows up more than once a day. I foolishly keep hunting hoping I'll be rewarded with a chest haha! Is this happening to anyone else?

While it IS punishment for buying Gems/Candy, I think BFS’s philosophy is: “Hey, if the players are gonna deplete their resources* and/or pay real $ for our stuff, ‘Go right ahead’, we ain’t gonna stop ya. If you bought it once, you’ll buy it again, and again, and again.’ If you’re gonna do this, why should we entice you with rewards.”
I still haven’t gotten my Coliseum watching/reward back since I used that gift card 2 events ago. I wonder how long I have to go without spending any real $ before BFS takes me off ‘Probation’ and restores that reward 🤔
* depletion of resources will ultimately result in spending of real $.

I just hatr this event! When, after at least 5 times dropping coin I finally manage to land on the chest, I usually get duplicates of porcelaine pieces! I finally manag d to get the last one required and have a porcelaine in the coop. I hope we can clone it! What od you do withyour dupplicates, sel them?

I’m currently banking them viviane, seems the only candy banking that’s possible this ‘event’
Well, I managed to get my elusive orange piece for porcelain and thus evolved 2 bones - a twin and a twin rift, which I am breeding together to get a nontwin and the pedestal. Up to 6/10 corrupticorn pieces, but still just 4/10 wrath pieces. That stinking wheel is terrible. Even when I spend the gems it’s so hard to land on the chest. I think I’ll hafta buy some of the night chests. But here’s a tip, ICYMI - you can sell your duplicate pieces after you max out, and the 50 candy per piece will not count toward your max daily limit! That helps offset the cost of the day/night chest a little bit (I wish they gave 100 candy, but it’s better than nothing. Maybe if the chests didn’t cost so much...). And I also got lucky and bred a non rift chimneypuff in the Rift, and a second one for the pedestal in the nonruft breeding cave. While I am glad about how we can evolve the dragons (we can change any version, thus not needing to breed a twin/rift version) which makes the event seems a bit more laid back than others, I do agree with some other people’s sentiments that this event is a pretty obvious cash grab. The important thing to note is that there’s no rush to evolve them. We have multiple chances for both day and night per reset, and it even looks like, by the outline/shadow of the prizes in the daily calendar, that we may even be getting a free chest or two, one of each makes sense. So as of now it doesn’t seem too difficult. But I imagine there will be something else we will need to spend our candy on before the event ends. It is frustrating though that first place in the Arena seems so hard to get, which effectively cuts out our ability to gift friends candy.
I am almost optimistically hoping that at least a couple of the calendar days will be pieces we actually need, lol. And that they are not duplicates od what we have. And that it will happen sometime before pigs fly. And won’t cost an arm and a leg. Or a first born child.
*spoiler alert—the following paragraph is not in keeping with the aloha spirit, lol *
I spent a lot of gems today getting golden chests....the result....a lot of frustration, but now lacking only two of the pieces to evolve Chromacornwhatever. Not that I am in hurry now, though, because I only have 1 Chrowhatever and am not about to evolve it. The next xx days will be spent trying to get another Cwhatever. Pfft

Six weeks, and 2 to 3 days, and you'll be out of probation. I had heard 6 weeks, but it took me an additional 2-3 days. If that was their thought process, then it has backfired on them. Many of us stopped paying just because of this terrible punishment.
Even Facebook is slammed this event with people hating the format and gambling aspect, and pointing out that it's impossible without spending tons of real cash. I've not seen that negativity there in the past, although you're still getting some supporters who don't understand saying "Just buy chests with candy, we have 3 weeks! Don't need gems!". These people fail at math and statistics, which clearly show that's not going to get you even remotely close to getting the needed decorations.
I wish they'd let us know how these rewards will be handled in BeB - will the decorations cost gems, gold, be available at all, or require more gambling? I'm tempted to stop this event completely and just wait and see.
After acquiring multiples of nine of the ten required fan shaped thingies yesterday, I decided to go for an all out blitz to get the missing purple one. Two hundred gems later and an island littered with multiples of everything except a single purple, I gave up.
During most events I do spend something, even though I end up with currency left over at the end. But this time I feel BFS has become rather mean spirited and I have come to the conclusion that I'm not even going to attempt to transform any dragons if they're making it well nigh impossible.
I have bred a Chimneypuff and will buy my last rifty habitat and just coast along without striving for anything which smacks of poker machines or similar evil beasts.

On a diff note...they removed the option on the colosseum of being able to see which dragon u won with the last time u fought an earth/cold/lighting etc ...so if u like to rotate your winning dragons u will have to either have a super memory (not me) or keep your own records ...or perhaps this is just happening in my park? Is this feature now missing from everyone's park?

For people who consider themselves to be good at the Dragon Drop, do you have any suggestions for what to aim for in the different patterns? I know they tweaked the wheel to be less controllable, but I feel like they made the drop game harder at some point too - I thought I used to be better at this... 😣

I confirm that.
It hasn't worked for me yet. But then nothing seems to be working that well. Try as I might, I still haven't gotten a chromacorn. I also don't have a spare love dragon to evolve either. I do have an extra bone, but I figure I might as well just forget about the evolve part of this event for now and concentrate on collecting candy. Maybe if I save enough candy I will attract a chromacorn with a sweet tooth to my park.

Yeah you DID used to be better at it ! the bad news with ddrop is they’ve tweaked the weights of the dropping balls too in the past couple of days; currently light as a feather and very hard to manage; as per last event, this has got harder too 😔
