Thanks all for warning me about not chasing the Purple Porcelain as it is the only one I am missing. 30 times I spent 5 Gems for another play at Dragon Drop &/or the Wheel (mostly DD) and only 7 times have I landed a Chest. Can you say abysmal odds? After the first day no Chests have showed up in the games for the five free plays. Mainly receiving duplicates of Porcelain I already have. If it were possible to trade in 10 of all the same color for anyone you wanted, I would be golden... green seems to like me. Bought one Day Chest and received a Flame. Bought one Night Chest and received a duplicate Flame. Still have not landed one of whatever the other decoration is and at this point I could care less. So not only am I no longer spending money on this game, I am now going to stop wasting my Gems.
In other news... Kiwichris , you will be happy to know I harvested the last of the tomatoes, cucumbers, melons, and squash. Trimmed all the herbs for drying and yes, pulled some weeds. Didn’t help with my mood. So, since my power was out I decided to drive an hour to civilization & electricity. Ended up in a big box store for a bit of stocking up and found myself down the toy aisle. I may have snapped. 😜 Next thing ya know some rearranging occurred. Somehow the Fisher-Price Jurassic World toys ended up in front of the Hasbro Star Wars ones. The FP Little People ended up edging out the Hasbro Disney Little Kingdom Princesses and the My Little Ponies. Hasbro Nerf got Nerfed in favor of Tee Ball and Thomas the Tank Engine. Hasbro Play-doh got squished in the back while Bloks are now front and center. I feel a little better now!
I have seen exactly 2 chests in this entire event. The first was during the intro/instructions of the Dragon Drop and by gosh I it got it! Got 2 Porcelains & a Corrupt-a-ma-gig. A couple days later I saw a chest on the Wheel of Fortune but didn’t come close to landing on it. In the past, I could spin that Wheel good enough to land on the best prize 4:5 times but ‘yes’, they’ve taken that away from us. And they’ve ‘jacked-up’ the bounce on the Dragon Drop, so that if the drop isn’t perfect, it rebounds waaay away from what you were aiming at.

Has anyone figured out for sure which flame colors are available during the day and night? I finally got all the porcelain pieces and would hate to use more gems if the last two flames I need are only available at night. Thanks!
I'm guessing that the flames that can come from the Summoning Chest of Day are the same ones that could come from the Golden Chests in the Drop Game. According to the description, the Summoning Chest of Day could contain a Green, Blue, Orange, Pink, or Black Flame and all ten colors of the Ornaments. The Summoning Chest of Night has the other five Flame colors listed and all ten colors of the Tendrils.
On a semi-related notes, I haven't seen anywhere indicating the odds of getting any specific item (e.g., all items have the same odds or are some harder to get). I thought that games had to release that information these days. Regardless, based on the chests I've gotten, it does seems like some colors are much more common than others. I've gotten multiples of the pink, red, and yellow ornaments, but no teal and only one each of the other colors.

Is anyone winning the colosseum event from the bash, and sending on extra candy? I used to be able to put in rainbow with whatever someone had and always win the max candy, sending off candy to my friend. This event, I've never broken 50 (or 100 on doubles). I've even picked the right elements with both dragons at 20 and still not succeeded. I'm guessing this was to nerf out free 1000 gems at the end of the event. They really don't like fun and easy events these days!
I noticed this as well! Since the event started, I have never won the full prize and been able to send along candy to friends. Nor have I received any. And I'm choosing the combos I've always chosen (highest level possible and no "extra" elements"). Very frustrating.
So, since porcelain seems to be the easiest dragon to evolve and I do have a couple of extra bones, I decided to toss my hat into the transformation ring, cheerily joining in the 'quest for chests' debacle, or as I like to call it, tossing gems into the void. At a mere 5 a whack, you may barely notice the loss until it's too late, although the futility of it likely will, at some point, penetrate the throes of one's gambling fever. My moment of truth usually ends with me glassy eyed, breathing heavy, and swearing softly under my breath that I'm not doing this again. But I do it again. Sad but true. Anyway, I couldn't help but notice those duplicate pieces mount up quickly. I'm wondering if the smart move is to sell them for candy right now or hold on to them for the future and see if, at some point, they become available to purchase for gems, (which is more likely than DC), at which time the ones I have held on to should then be able to be sold for gems. Thereby recouping some of the gem losses I have sustained. Does anyone think this is a likely scenario? If not what do you see happening when the pieces become available to purchase.
Logic does dictate this should go without saying, but logic hasn't really been dictating much lately.

As I’ve posted elsewhere, there’s no detail from the BFSDementors to indicate that there is a vehicle for sending arena candy to friends this time; I’ve checked all the FAQs carefully (could always be wrong, I’m quite good at that !) and in other events they’ve actually printed that ‘small rewards can be sent to your friends dragon’; not this time.

I've been trying to clone the ones I have (one in each park) so I can at least work on other things - Chromacorn plus Sunscorch should give a chance at a Nightbloom, for example. It's hard to know if the odds would be better trying from scratch, though.
I guess it doesn't matter if you buy something with gems, if you have to sell it you only get DC for it. So my idea of selling the duplicate pieces if they are ever available for gems wouldn't work. When I buy something I don't sell it so I never had the opportunity to find that out. Too bad. I guess selling them for candy is probably the way to go.

So, sold all my surplus ornaments and flames, bought 2 night chests from night market with the proceeds, got 2 new flames ... Painfully slow but maybe that’s one feasible way to accumulate flames over time, as the wheel seems unachieveably stacked against success...

Yes — I’ve bred three of them. I had one before the event. I then used rainbow/DR combo and got my second. Then bred Chromacorn with new Chromacorn and got a third, which I turned into a pedestal. Bred them again and got another, which I kept as my third Chromacorn. Hope this helps. koala, all!

So my Porcelain dragon cost me about 1,500 gems total and I collected 165 pieces in the process of getting ten unique colors. And Porcelain is the easy one...

YIKES! If I wanted to gamble I would go up to the local Rancheria where at least the payout is cold hard cash or a brand new SUV or motorcycle. A 1s+0s dragon just can’t compare. I stopped competing in challenges in the Mausoleum Colosseum as it is a complete waste of time. If I can’t reward other players, what’s the point? I hit max Candy everyday without it. If watching an ad is not going to pay out a Gem, why bother? So stopped that also. Haven’t gotten one Chest since I stopped spending Gems for them. In the old days, BFS would see that the majority of players were not going to achieve the new dragons and make adjustments. They are running out of time.
grandpakenny, Waiting on my highly placed hedge fund buddies to give me the word on HAS. They are waiting for the holiday sales numbers so it may be a few months. Funny part is that they are Dartmouth grads same as HAS CEO. They did make quite a bit shorting EA months ago after my daughter gave them the tip that EA was going all SJW and turning off their long time customers. Seems to be a lot of that going around in the corporate world.
Does Whitbee reappear every 8 hours based on when you found him last or at set times per day (e.g., at the reset, 8 hours after the reset and then at 16 hours after the reset)?

I also want to know how the person who has 8 evolve thingys without spending gems or candies, got them? I have spent gems (gambling) and have less than that.

PSA::: the breeding odds for Chromacorn must have improved; I just bred 3 almost in a row in the rift...chroma x chroma, rift on cold...but they’re all fire traited 🐨🐨🐨🐨🐨🐨all

Hi lisgie and welcome! Folk have mentioned you get food from pumpkins etc once your candy max is reached for the day... but given the blatantcy of the RL cash grab of this and recent events, some of us are getting a bit grumpy 😈 and unless we really really need food, cant be a...d hunting them, Whitbee is supposed to occasionally give a free chest too...but noone here afaik has reported getting one from him yet... the various decos needed to begin the three transformations were slightly easier to get in the first couple of days, maybe only the first day, of this event, then the numbers of free chests dried up,dramatically; that’s how several Valers assembled a good.y number without gem spending... best of luck with your game 🐨🐨🐨

I asked Backflip Support about the odds of receiving items and the answer was interesting... "The decorations received from chests are based upon chance, with some colors being more difficult to obtain than others. I can assure you that there is nothing wrong with your game specifically, and that everyone who plays has the same odds. If there are certain colors you are missing I would suggest trying the chests in the prize market as those will have a better chance of awarding the decoration you need."
This would seem to imply that the golden chests are more random, but the Summoning Chests might be weighted towards the items a player is missing...

That was me that posted. I have been able to land on 3 free play chests and ended up with one duplicate which leaves me with 8. I finally got a chest from Whitbee today, but it was a duplicate. 😒
I try not to support gameplay that I don’t agree with like the Burcadian Breeding Cave at Easter, completing bingo cards with gems on the Dragon Boat or dropping gems to gamble a chance at getting items needed for dragons. I am trying to see how many pieces I can get without spending any gems or currency. I have 3,000 gems, but to me that is beside the point. I am quite the rebel at times you could say...

Yes, I bred one with DR & Rainbow. Also got a couple of rifted Chimneypuffs as "fails" for that combo.
