I can assure you that there is nothing wrong with your game specifically, and that everyone who plays has the same odds. If there are certain colors you are missing I would suggest trying the chests in the prize market as those will have a better chance of awarding the decoration you need."
This would seem to imply that the golden chests are more random, but the Summoning Chests might be weighted towards the items a player is missing...
Thanks for your post, kimiko. I was two pieces away from Porcelain in one game, so I bought a Summoning chest. It was a duplicate piece. Bought another chest, and it was one of the two I needed. I bought 5 in all, got the two pieces I needed for Porcelain and a flame I didn't have also. So for the price of 5 Summoning chests I got 3 pieces I needed.
What are the old timers breeding on their islands if you have all breedable dragons? I don’t know what I should breed or what combo to use for $$$.
wisp + wisp is great when you get another wisp, since 5 mil every 2 hours is great, but unfortunately the wraith fails aren’t as good. You could go with nectar + nectar though - its fails aren’t so long and still sell for a pretty good price.

I bought 5 in all, got the two pieces I needed for Porcelain and a flame I didn't have also. So for the price of 5 Summoning chests I got 3 pieces I needed.
Sure wish that had worked for me! Only need a purple porcelain piece, so I bought 3 Summoning chests and got 3 duplicates. And not just any duplicates, but those I already had the most of. I'm afraid to waste any more candy! The Dragon Drop (which I've always been pretty good with) is acting like it's consuming triple espressos...bouncing in directions I've never seen before! I'm ashamed to admit how many gems I've lost on additional drops, only to add to my already impressive collection of duplicates. Also, since another poster said it looked like the odds appeared to have improved, bred level 15 DR + Rainbows through 5000 in the rift to attempt another Chromacorn, and received mostly unrifted Olympics. I'd been trying level 20 Chromacorn + level 20 Alpenglow for days, but still no koalas in my park! To say I'm getting extremely frustrated and having absolutely no fun with this event would be a huge understatement!!!

I wasn't able to breed a chromacorn when it was initially introduced so I have been trying to breed one since the start of this event. Nothing yet and I'm throwing E at the problem at an alarming rate. It's starting to really annoy me. And even if I get one, I'll need to breed another if I hope to evolve one. And if my experience trying to get another love is any example of how that's going to go, I can just give up now. I only have one love dragon so I've been trying to breed another since the beginning and getting nowhere.
I have been successful at getting a porcelain so I shouldn't complain, but here I am. I don't know what to do in the game. Even if I get the pieces to evolve a chromacorn or a love I don't have the dragons to do it, so I'm wondering if I should just let it go and worry about it during BeB. On the other hand it's not like there is lot of other stuff to do in this event but collect these decorations. It's just that it's not as much fun wasting all my gems trying for decorations I can't actually use at the moment as it is wasting them when I have the dragon to evolve. I guess that's just a technicality but it seems to be an important one to my head space. I'm not all that enamored of this event.
Total frustration: Quil had explained that pieces are not available in the day and in the night part but some are only available in the night part, the one with the stupid wheel of misfortune! And that s where I am, all 5 pieces I miss are in the night part, meaning I can only get them by buying chests ... in the night part of the prizes. That is as from 1 am lol. And i only have one chrimacron and am reluctant to then transform it in a much less nice looking dragon.

I am officially unengaged in this event. There really isn't anything to do. Remember when events used to be fun and exciting, lol?! There really is nothing to do, lol. I need 1 piece to evolve Chromacorn...it's a night piece. I've bought a lot of night chests...nothing. But, that's okay for now because I only have 1 Chromacorn. I have been trying to breed a second for days now...using all the etherium I have daily (which is usually up to 1 or 2 10,000 breeds) and nada. Nothing. Zilch. Big ole goose egg. Zip. Glass not half empty or half full....it's all empty. *Sigh*

I’ve been buying Summoning Chests night and day (pun intended) with the results mainly like this: Buy a chest get a duplicate, buy another chest get one you need etc. I’ve bought some extra Spins & Drops but never seen a Chest. At this rate I’m not sure I’ll get even one of the new ones.

I had to buy 5 chests to get that last purple piece, also got the last day flame in the progress. I simply gave up on the dragon drop since there were constant duplicates. Seems like we are just forced to buy chests if we want to finish anything. Now I am stuck getting 0 chests from the Horror wheel, this event is great fun. Think I haven’t been this mad at a game for probably 30 years...
I have to question the logic behind making it almost impossible to get a chest in the wheel of chance game, if BFS's goal is to get us to burn through our resources. I know if it were me, and I were trying to get people to empty their gem stash, I would give them some joy every now and again. Since the odds of landing on a chest are so small, it appears, statistically speaking, you have the same chance whether you play the wheel or not. Perhaps that's a bit of hyperbole, but i have thrown a lot of gems at that game and I have not once got a chest, so maybe not so far-fetched at all.

I sold all of my duplicate pieces in order to recover some of the candy I wasted on five chests, trying to get the purple porcelain piece. Naturally I received 5 more duplicates. Quite discouraged and at this point I don't give a haunt if I can't evolve any dragons.
I have been able to collect all Flames/Tendrils and Porcelain through Dragon Drop and Wheel of Chance on my two parallell games.
It has cost me about 700-1000 gems/game.
Dragon Drop was obviously more fun and a little bit more skills-related. Wheel of Chance was just mind-numbingly boring. 3 clicks for every time I invested 5 gems for a new chance.
In the beginning I tried to spin the wheel myself, but it seemed much more difficult than it has been previously so after the first 100-200 gems I just used the "spin-button". Approximately 1,5-2 sets of 3 golden treasure boxes for every 100 gems
I think I have sold additional ornaments for around 10 000 candy, so in case I do am not able to breed another Chromacorn I will at least be able to buy one from the Bizarre Bazaar. The pedestals for the Chromacorn and Corrupticron I expect I will buy in the BB as well since the Chromacorn seems so difficult to breed.
The Wrath and Porcelain dragons are quite easy to breed - especially with another dragon on the cooperative breeding cave, or with a rift variant on the other breeding cave.
So the one thing left for me is to breed another Chromacorn - I am investing up to 15 000 etherium every day on both games so far with no success. I expect that it is not possible to breed these dragons in the cooperative breeding cave since they are rift-only dragons?
I'm hopeful that the two remaining limited dragons will be like the Chimneypuff - fairly easy to breed (at least in so far as there were a reasonable number of fails and most were short). That being said, I'm hording my candies until the end of the event. That way, I can buy the limited dragon if I can't breed it. My current plan is to wait to see where I am at the end of the event. First goal is to get a second Chromacorn (either via breeding in the Rift - although that hasn't been going very well - or buy it with candies). Then to buy Chests in hopes of getting the pieces I need. I figure this way, it'll give me the whole event to see if can get the items from the mini-game chests. I'm not in any hurry to get the evolved forms of the dragons (if they were cuter maybe, but none of them are really all that great looking to me).
That is exactly what one has to do. I went ahead and bought the effigy thingy thinking we might be able to evolve fire dragons....nope, only THE fire dragon. I evolved one and was able to feed it to level 21, but not sure it gives another banner bearer.
edit: the cost to evolve it was 500 candies. Inhave the Ghostly Fire in the coop, but not sure it can be cloned.

Yes, it can be cloned in the co-op. Mine and a neighbor's in 2 tries...4:59 breeding time. Used it for the pedestal.

edit: Tried cloning with Fire + neighbor's Ghostly Fire in one of my baby games and only bred regular Fire dragons. When I tried to evolve one for 500 candies, it said I had to buy the effigy first before evolving.

Only element is Fire, but I tried it myself on a baby park and no go. Still says you have to buy the effigy before evolving.

So the effigy is only needed to EVOLVE regular fire dragons into ghostly fires for 500 candies. I wasted a lot of candies by buying the effigy first, but it's not like I stand a chance of getting all the evolvable dragons in this event anyway! LOL
