It makes me sad to see how desperate BFS seems to try to get in app purchases now. When I first started playing, Dragonvale was in the top 40 paid apps. It was because people wanted to support the game and enjoyed it NOT because you felt you had to pay to play. They must really be trying to cut the number of players on servers down. In their attempts to probably get rid of people with multiple parks, they may get rid of too many others in the process to keep the game sustainable.
That’s an interesting take on this; happy to lose the players w multiple parks, and wee fishies, but keep the whales... wow
and ‘cheap’ changes for new dragons, ie no new design details, just overlays (ghostly’s) so fewer staff? although the dragons for this event look different? Not sure, haven’t really examined them yet

Lowly peon : Oooo I got it. Let’s make them evolve a bogberry to a thanksgiving turducken. So......
They will need a level 20 rift bogberry, with the twilight tower set to summer, the weather station set to storm, the fiery fig planter and all 14 farms with figs ready. Gotta buy the new farm to get to 14 duh. Oh and you’ll need the other five evolved dragons in a hidden habitat for everything to work of course.
I just visited a park which left me totally depressed as it has ALL the newest dragons, including the Aubergine, and not just one of all of them but FOUR including a twin and a rifted ... and a dozen of Chromacrons! Btw this means the new dragons can be rifted ...
Yes, I usually feed them up to 12 and then leave it, unless I need to breed with them, when I usually feed them up to 16. The dragon I looked at to see how much it would cost to get to the next level just happened to be level 16. And I'm slowly moving them up by using Bahamut and Tiamat - I confidently expect to be finished by around March 2139,

LoL am in th same boat,, trying to bring up every rifted at level 16 but, I am a champion at dicing 1 to 7 !
Did anybody try to use Ts aishen during an event, at reset ? I do not dare, with all the stuff flying from left to right and from right to left I am afraid the game will crash and aut destruct itself lol
I’ve played DV since the love dragon was first released. I’ve loved this game for so long. That’s why it’s so hard to accept these changes. When the Chromacorn was released it felt like the beginning of a divorce - I realized that I don’t love this game as much any more. I have spent money on this game in the past because I wanted to support BF. But I didnt spend a dime (or a wish) trying to get the Chromacorn. The breeding odds were stupid. I tried breeding non stop without success. Later I got it as a daily reward - that’s stupid too, No sense of achievement. And this new dragon - it’s ridiciluos. I don’t want it. I’ll try - trying for a rifted limited berry first - but I don’t see it happening. I won’t spend money on this dragon. I won’t spend a wish either. The old BF that I loved would never do this. They were generous and creative. This new BF don’t care about me and I won’t support them. It’s not true that it is possible to breed all dragons anymore - you need to spend money too.
I don’t have facebook, No way to add new friends. A couple of Game Center friends still play.
I remember trying and trying for a rainbow and the happiness when I finally got it. I remember thinking 10 hours was a long time to wait for a lava dragon. I remember the sense of marvel at BF and the way the game developed. You never knew what the wizards would come up with next. I was hospitilized when the light and dark event began. I still somehow managed to play every day, thrilled to see what would happen next.
That feeling is gone for me. I’m sorry for my rant. It’s just, DV was at the very top and that’s why there is such a long way down to the ground.
I love you guys though - this place has brought me a lot of joy and a sense of belonging, a dragon lover amongst dragon lovers 😃
I'm not even going to bother acknowledging Aubergine's existence... Don't have a weather station and not wasting that much crystals on it when I don't have a rifted Berry and couldn't use Bahamut/Tiamat to cheaply level it past 10 anyhow.
This might not be "new" news, but the same breeding rules still apply for all of the evolved dragons (from last event, as well as this one). You need to have both parents be the target if you want to "clone" the dragon. So at this point, you would need a Wrath+Wrath to get another Wrath (or you can evolve Love dragon if you have the items plus gems). So that rules out co-op breeding the dragon if you're missing one of the requirement elements (e.g., ability to level, weather station, etc.).

Just bred an extra Berry and was all "Yay! I like that Aubergine, he's cute! Lemme go check which deco and crops I need to transform him ... need to check on what's needed for Vidalia, too, since he's my other fav of this lot ... I'll be happy with this event if I get those two ..."

While I am whining and complaining: I'm not even maxing out on spice everyday. If the game didn't take *ages* to load, I'd have no problem logging in evey few hours to collect. But I'm not going to sit here 6 times a day watching the app load bar creep towards completion. Gah.
So, now I apparently need a stupid ~traited~ Berry (ehh, not so bad) and a Weather Station (grrrr). And a Curlyleaf and a Bloatato in the same habitat. And various useless-after-the-event-so-therefore-a-waste-of-perfectly-good-spice deco and some crops. Just for the two measly dragons I want from this event.
Well I managed to breed an ghostly nosferatu, in coop with my original nosferatu. So that is encouraging, for people who still needs the ghostlys.
If someone of my friends could put up either a kayu, or a totem. or a ghostly oni. I would appreciate that, I read these posts, so if anyone needs a ghostly, or something else, I could put those up, just let me know.
I have the bloatato, and he really is bloated. I dont think I like these new dragons.

the reason they have twins or rifties of the newest dragons is because they evolved twins or rifties of the seasonal dragons. But yea, if they have all of them, they either bought spice or hacked.
So...how many new dragons will there be this event? The advertisement for this event on Facebook says "Collect 5 Brand-New Dragons" and there have been 5 released already. Last time, the patch notes said there would be 3 new dragons for the event and Support said that referred to the ones released at the start of the event (Wrath, Porcelain, and Corrupticorn) and that they didn't include the other new dragons (like the Chimneypuff or the Ghostlies) in the patch note descriptions on purpose (i.e., they were being purposefully misleading). So this time around, there were only 4 dragons released at the start of the event, so with the addition of the Aubergine, that takes this event to 5 dragons. What do folks think? Is this it for the new dragons or will there be more?

I’m writing on behalf of our forum community of fervent DV players (many since the game was launched)to ask that you please pass this to whomever is making the changes. DV was a beloved fun artistic game, where we couldn’t wait to log in and work our way through the challenges of events, where we always paid (for many, saving up to do so) to spend RL cash to support BF who felt like friends, where we scrupulously ensured no spoilers, no cheating, and just revelled in this beautiful game which brought pleasure to completionists and decorators alike. We are trying to work out the changes in policy;it seems that HAS doesn’t mind if small cash players leave, and sadly so many now are, three in the past 2 days just from our forum, and that HAS are only concerned with continually changing game play goals to a) strip players of gems dc and food as fast as possible, to b) ensure that only ‘whales’ play the game. Maybe that works for HAS, I don’t know the stats. I do know that we are struggling to encourage Valers to remain, and we are trying to change our mindset, in order to do so; ignoring events, for many, ignoring some of the new categories of dragons (like ghostlies) for very many (no room to display or hibernate them anyway so why breed them), and compiling the means/mechanisms to transform but not doing any transforming, for a lot of Valers, then using BeB to see if we can breed a few of the new dragons later when maybe things have changed. The latest evolution convolutions could be seen as blending puzzle with breeding challenges, but it feels mean spirited, not dastardly challenging. The light hearted fun and the magnificent artwork that went into dragons and eggs/pedestals is gone. DV was, I understand, something unusual in terms of game longevity; why o why fix something that was so patently un-broken? Money of course. Sad.

And level 18+, so you still need both relics as well. And Rifted, so that's a loooooot of treats/Etherium to spend levelling it. And Jelly Plants, which are limited, so unlike the others the evolution needs to be done during the event.

Edit: And if you don't have all of that, well, better hope you've not spent any Spice yet and can cap daily, because even then 2 of the next 4 days need to be doubles for it to be buyable outright in the market.
Does the L18 Rberry need to be in a Vale habitat, or can it be in a R hab? And the jelly log on same island as jelly plants? Dearie me, and Purple Rain too....😈 (cos, you know, aubergine....no? 😔)
