With the new month, comes a new installment of POTM. It works like this:
You find a post you like and you nominate it for Post of the Month. You do this by quoting the post and adding the comment "Post of the Month" or if you think you can't pull it off, simply "POTM". A Mod will move your POTM Reply to this thread. Conversely you can right click on the "Link to Post" at the bottom of each post and Copy Link Location. Then post in this thread with "Post of the Month" (or "POTM" if you think you can), right click in the thread and Paste. You cannot nominate your own post ... I mean c'mon ... that's just really lame ... no matter how cool/funny/clever/poignant you think you were. Each post can only be nominated once. The first person to do so gets the nod. On the 1st of next month (or thereabouts, I mean, we're all working folks here, well most of us) we'll make a Poll with all the nominated threads and everyone here will be invited to vote for their favorite thread. You'll have about a month to vote. So at the end of next month we'll have a winner, or more accurately, two, because the original poster AND the person who nominated them wins. What do you win? Gems of course. The mods will pay the winners.

So, I finally was able to summon Tsai Shen, and I report that as predicted, I am now playing the game with nine and a half grandchildren who were spontaneously created out of thin air strictly due to the obscenely long time it took for this to occur. These phantom whippersnappers must be reassuring to BFS in some way, though, as several of the people on my neighbours list seem to have stopped playing the game during the past few events (they weren't max level, and have been stopped at those levels for a good while). That certainly says something about how things have been going lately...
Anyhow, regarding Tsai Shen, I didn't buy any of the fragments until I had enough to blitz it all, because to me, that made me feel I could sort of ignore it, instead of going through such a long, tedious process of working through buying fragments bit by bit. Evidently I didn't pay enough attention to anything about this dragon, though, as now I'm seeing the 1000 vault essence or whatever cost to activate it/power it up, and I was under the impression that we were able to use the power to collect from all habitats in one fell swoop once per day! Today, after opening the two free chests (the advertisement one usually gives me a lot of trouble and sometimes I've given up on it after being booted out a few times in a row) and collecting from all my habitats, I made about 100 in essence...so, it'll take about ten days, give or take, to power him up enough to use. Am I missing or misunderstanding something, or is it really this infrequently that we can use this dragon? If I'd known this, I wouldn't have cared at all about getting it. It'd be useful if it was a once a day thing, since collecting from all habitats when one has a high number can take a fair bit of time if one wants to do it more than once a day and if one's park lags something dreadful like mine does. I'd long wanted the means to just collect everything at once so I could focus my time more on decorating and rearranging things, but, really, if it the power is available as infrequently as it seems to be, it's essentially the same as not having it, from my point of view.
In other news, I've bought a lot of Chrysalis mystery eggs, as I'm missing four of seven rift versions of them, but of course, I've gotten loads of the ones I already had, rather than any of the ones I need. Same happened when hoping for the two Galactic ones I'm missing...it's like the mystery eggs are sentient enough to check my Dragonarium and go, "Which dragon does she already have eleven of? Clearly she prefers that one", and...voila. (Or perhaps it's the more sinister alternative of, "Ha-ha, let us send in a veritable invasion of these our kindred who have been camped in her park awaiting the day when they may rise up and usurp her power.") And, though I have six regular Opal dragons that I obtained long ago when breeding odds were better, I've been struggling to get one of these in the Rift, too--just as with most Gemstone or Crystalline or...well, anything in the Rift. Well, all that aside, here's to hoping others have been graced by fuzzy grey marsupials aplenty!

Adding my voice of gratitude to thank those who could decipher the bizarre event. Splendid how they locked us into that tutorial that just told us the parts nobody needed explaining, while the whole 'rituals' thing was mostly left untouched, as if deep down they were aware it was an unseemly abomination and didn't want us to pay it too much heed, in case we noticed too. I don't like the look of this event at all. As others have said, it seems like yet another 'deplete resources, spend more dough' sort of event, and I'd frankly just like a return to former days, when I had neighbours who hadn't quit during events that had the enjoyment sucked right out of them by the shrewd choices of a company focused on short-term financial gain rather than retaining players through a balance and respect. BFS (holding Baccalaureates in Fun-Snatching) have gathered up our precious koalas and are experimenting on them in a Laboratory of Evil. That is simply the truth. As for me...I am against koala experimentation. That is my official stance.
Yep, whether they’ve just got tough, or maybe only once a 24 hour day, none of my 6 hour free turn changes now contain chests... Maybe it’s because (as someone else wondered) I purchased additional ddrop and spins with gems, so they are punishing that expenditure just as they punish the in game purchasing by removing free watch ads for gems... dunno Wait and see if a new RL day brings another free chest in the free games... Way to take the small amount of fun away bfs, being coached by the Marquis de Sade at all?😈😈😈
and just to totally suck it dry of fun; am I right that the arena does not give any candy to my friends contributing dragon...tight! Scrooge it bfs! and therefore also, once I reach the daily limit there is no point in playing the arena? O deary deary me...
so the ‘I swear I am up to no good’ challenge is how to make this ‘event’ useful; yeah, use the Rift for breedable event draggies, and catch up on breeding missing spooky dragons, and if perchance we get a transformable, great ... wishing humoungous hairy hoardes of drop bears to one and all 🐨🐨🐨🐨🐨🐨🐨🐨🐨
POTM for spilling the beans (not event beans, those are physically incapable of overflowing this 'event' as there are indubitably rings of infernal flames around the tops of our bean jars to incinerate any bounty we might have had and thus prevent any insidious 'bean-banking') on the true mentor of BFS. Good attitude, too; I'm thinking I just won't buy any extra chests and if I miss all the dragons, whatever--and if I get any, brill. Oh, and your lovely little line of alliteration was the cherry on top.
The best thing about this dreadful year in the Laboratory of Evil has been the many amusing posts of people on this forum using the wizardly art of humour to cope with the multiple disappointments there have been!
Thanks all for warning me about not chasing the Purple Porcelain as it is the only one I am missing. 30 times I spent 5 Gems for another play at Dragon Drop &/or the Wheel (mostly DD) and only 7 times have I landed a Chest. Can you say abysmal odds? After the first day no Chests have showed up in the games for the five free plays. Mainly receiving duplicates of Porcelain I already have. If it were possible to trade in 10 of all the same color for anyone you wanted, I would be golden... green seems to like me. Bought one Day Chest and received a Flame. Bought one Night Chest and received a duplicate Flame. Still have not landed one of whatever the other decoration is and at this point I could care less. So not only am I no longer spending money on this game, I am now going to stop wasting my Gems.
In other news... Kiwichris , you will be happy to know I harvested the last of the tomatoes, cucumbers, melons, and squash. Trimmed all the herbs for drying and yes, pulled some weeds. Didn’t help with my mood. So, since my power was out I decided to drive an hour to civilization & electricity. Ended up in a big box store for a bit of stocking up and found myself down the toy aisle. I may have snapped. 😜 Next thing ya know some rearranging occurred. Somehow the Fisher-Price Jurassic World toys ended up in front of the Hasbro Star Wars ones. The FP Little People ended up edging out the Hasbro Disney Little Kingdom Princesses and the My Little Ponies. Hasbro Nerf got Nerfed in favor of Tee Ball and Thomas the Tank Engine. Hasbro Play-doh got squished in the back while Bloks are now front and center. I feel a little better now!

Not that anyone asked, or cares for that matter, to my recollection BFS has never asked my opinion about anything, but I don't want a ghostly version of all dragons. I am full up with twin versions and rifted versions already. Speaking of rifted and full up, why bother with so many attractive rifted versions with no way to display a goodly percentage of them. The poor things are all cramped together out sight in some dark and dreary hibernation cave. That's no way to treat a dragon!
FREE THE RIFTED DRAGONS now!!
And before you make more versions of tons of dragons with no place to let them roam free fix the rift issue. And have a plan for displaying new versions of dragons.
If you keep this trend going 75% of our dragons will be hidden dragons...literally.

I like Chitin better than Cave as while they are both un-pretty and weird-insecty, Cave manages to look exceptionally goofy at the same time. Chitin at least has the whole "I am dangerous, spiky, and definitely toxic; don't mess with me" cool-tough look going on. Cave looks like it woke up, saw itself in a mirror and hasn't stopped screaming since. #relatable, I guess? :/
Chitin reminds me A LOT of the Venipede evolution line from Pokémon.. The Adult Chitin looks like Scolipede; the Baby Chitin looks like Venipede except curled like Whirlipede. That might be why I like it, actually...

We've been having wifi issues (including no service for almost 2 months. ugh), so I haven't been keeping up with my game as much, or with the forum. I think we should be okay long enough for me to finish out this event. I hope.
I guess I've been doing okay with this event. Kinda. But, overall, I am really not impressed with the changes to past few events- what little I saw of them. I did breed the turtle and clone the shark from the last event, so that was good. I love the turtle guy.
This time, I've managed to breed a rifted Chimneypuff and a regular Chitlin, so Yay! But those stupid, gem-sucking decos are *killing* me. What a dumb concept. Well... it's short-term good for the people trying to extract all the money from your pocket, but a dumb, raw deal for the customers. Anyhoo, I only need the green wrath tendril to complete that set and have gotten soooooo many repeats (just like everyone else and their missing pieces). It's infuriating. The flames and fans aren't going as well, only have 3 or 4 of each of those and, at this point, am having problems even caring about that. I do wnt to finish the tendrils since I'm so close.
I refuse to spend money on more gems to play Dragon Drop in the hopes of hitting the chest, and then hoping it's not another 3 repeats (which, it will be). And all the times I've paid the 5 gems for another round and there was no chest to be won. Grrrrrr. It's gambling. I had no problem supporting the game before, when it was straight-forward purchases to get the dragon or item I wanted ... but things have changed. Dumping money into an RNG is Fudge. From here on out, each day I'm only going to spend the gems I earned that day, and that is it.
I think Rare Limited Ghostly versions of Limiteds that require Rare Limited Ghostly versions of Hybrids that require Limited Ghostly versions of Basics that require Limited Event Decorations to evolve from basics using Event Currency is the most ridiculous thing I've seen in this game and I think only the sunk cost fallacy is stopping me from saying, welp, DV has jumped the shark, time to stop playing. I liked the Rift. I hate this in every way.
