I'm slow to join the party and haven't been playing DragonVale as consistently as I used to, but am very happy to have an in-game friending system (yay!)
I'll be making my way through the thread slowly and will begin adding forum players, so please add me! The idea of a whole host of neighbors with the same name of "Dragonvale" doesn't sound appealing to me, so I won't be adding anyone who hasn't changed to a unique park name. Thanks, everyone!

crumble608 I was able to add Hess via the link, I’ve added the main park only tho Have you tried more than once? I also wonder if it sometimes depends which park a multi park player is logged into at the time...dunno

Hmmm.. I wonder what happened. 🤔 I was able to add my main park (from my 2nd park) by typing in my FriendID, then I deleted the main park as a friend and was able to add it back again with the link. Could someone else try it and let me know?
friend links never worked on my tablet, I'm only carried to an internet tab called blank your friebd id is "Hess010-Main#2114" right ? the sign betweenn hess010 and main is a minus ? every time when I try to type in your friend id it first accepts the minus but then with the next character it interprets the minus as a control sign,which takes me to the beginning of the line and the minus is gone.

Yep, my friend ID for my original park is Hess010-Main#2114. I can change all my friend IDs to take out the dash/minus sign/hyphen. It only costs 5 gems to make the change so it's no biggie.
But before I do that, perhaps it might be worth submitting a ticket to BFS so we can learn why poor crumble608 isn't able to add me? I've only read through about a third of the thread so far, but it seems likely that if she's having a tough time adding friends with links (and my silly hyphen), others may be as well. I'll leave my Friend IDs as they are for now so BackFlip is able to look into it, but am happy to change them. Has anyone else who tried to add me had a problem?

hess010 , Had my park open on my iPad Pro just now and used your links for your first two parks. Both worked just fine with the first saying we were now friends (you must have already added me) and the second gave me the ‘friend must add you’ message. May be an iOS / Android issue.

Jen B hope you get this, DONT know your forum name only old fb name I’ve unlinked from the dreaded fb (yaay, thanx brandy🌻) and don’t have an ingame friend link for you it appears, coz you keep giving me goodies but I can’t return them Can you message me w an ingame name? 😊

In the meantime, you might be able to get the direct link to work by making sure Chrome is completely closed (not suspended or running in the background) on your device prior to clicking the link.

OK, I normally read this forum with Chrome, so I copied the friend link into an email to myself, closed Chrome and clicked on the link. It opened the game and gave me an error message that Hess010-Main#2114 couldn't be added and that I should have a look if the friend id is right. Then I got another message that I already have requested that friend id before. But despite these two messages it worked ! You are now with friend id (and facebook name) in my friend list Yeah!

Yay!! So glad it worked! But it’s a bummer that it was such a pain. I hope BFS will be able to shed some light on what happened and why it was so difficult. 🤞

Thanks for the add, Cyn ! Yes, so far I've only had time to add ppl in my main park. My 2nd park will be next.. eventually. It's a bit of a process. I REALLY wish I could do all this from a computer and didn't have to do it on my phone. Sorry for the whine. I don't want it to sound like I'm not grateful for our new in-game friending system bc I definitely am!!
I'm a slackerbutt and just got around to poking at this (been busy IRL too). Managed to crash the game "sharing" the link to Dropbox but hey it worked and I just rebooted the game.
Edit - Don't know if this was mentioned somewhere in the thread (too lazy to read the whole thing, at least right now), but looks like the names aren't case sensitive.

Hello, it has been a long time since I posted, but I usually catch up on all the wonderful tips posted here every week or so. I have had faithful gem trading friends until the new in game friending system started. I guess those friends were finally able to friend their RL family and friends, so now I have 3 spots open for daily gem and treat gift. I also would like to add lots of friends for coop breeding. I was lucky enough to have a friend with the new Rhino dragon and was able to successfully bred that last night after 200 gems and multiple fails. So far none of my other friends have any of the other new dragons. Hoping to add new friends to help with new dragon breeds.
