PSA - most of the USA and Boulder, Colorado where the game was hosted is doing the time change tonight to go back on daylight savings (turning clocks ahead one hour). I don’t know where the game is hosted anymore or if the time change affects anything code wise. Reset could happen earlier now, or not be affected.

Today's reset has indeed happened one hour earlier.

Is it CERTAIN that Spectrapod is breedable ONLY in the RIFT???
It may be possible to clone one in the normal and epic caves, using one you already have, at least according to what I've seen. I'd love to hear confirmation if this can occur.
Otherwise it requires the rift, and you can not clone one in the social cave at all.
Stupid question of the day. 🤪 IF it is possible to clone one in the normal and epic caves, would it still be a rift version? Is it even possible to get a non rift version? I bred two together in the rift, hoping to get a non rift, before I realised I probably couldn’t get one anyway.
I’m having the hardest time cloning Poshwing. So many Luminous fails.
Also - does it have to be night time in the park to breed Moonstruck? I can’t remember 🤪
No, there’s no nighttime requirement for Moonstruck, just the locked combo of Love + Rose. G’luck!

Due to a potential limit on the number of friends a player can have before issues arise in the game, I will only be able to add Forum members. Thank you, for your understanding, and please consider joining us!

This is absolutely NOT a stupid question.
While you can’t breed an untraited version of Spectrapod in the Rift, it is possible (for now) to clone Spectrapod in the Vale. If you do, it will not have a trait. Spectrapod still follows the no trait in the Vale rule.
This has occurred in the past with Rigel, except players were receiving untraited Rigels from the Daily Rewards Egg of Mystery, not from breeding. It was interesting because Rigel had an incubation time of 16 hours in Gaia’s nest. Unfortunately, Riggy didn’t stay this way. After the player closed their game, when they returned, Rigel was corrected and traited. It’s a different situation with Spectrapod, since it’s clone-able. A few players have bred it in the Vale, but no follow-up has been done to confirm Spectrapod’s incubation time or if/when its water trait returns.

Thank you for the explanation Adlerist. Now my brain can stop going round in circles. I think I will just transfer my Spectrapod over from the rift and pretend that it’s untraited. Much easier.
That's so weird DECA would change the breeding hint for one of BFS's dragons. In their Reddit post they said they haven't worked on new content yet b/c they're getting use to DragonVale and aren't making any changes right now. Then why switch the breeding dragons? It doesn't make a lot of sense. I hope they know what they're doing. I think they do but it makes me wonder what else they've changed. I can see them doing minor tweaks to help the game but switching the breeding dragons for Spectrapod isn't a little tweak it's a permanent change. I wonder why they'd do this. It doesn't really help them or the game. I think I'll ask them why b/c I'd also like to know if they made any other big changes.
stop samiam . Please don't ask them. As long as I know the former breeding combo is only known because someone here knows how to read the file. We shouldn't hve known that.
I'm not sure what you're saying. I agree that Quil read the file and saw the combo was changed so I asked DECA if they made other breeding changes too. It's interesting if they did change the combo b/c it shows they're already comfortable with the game. At first I was surprised they'd do this but then thought it's good they're at this stage already. I noticed a difference with breeding in my parks and if they are making breeding changes it'd be nice to know if it's them or if it's just me thinking it. I spoke with someone else and it doesn't look like they made changes to breeding and the breeding combo.
I'm pretty sure DECA knows people read the file and I don't think they care. BFSdidn't seem to mind. It's not a bad thing. When odds are posted here and on Discord they know Quil is getting it from the file. Spoilers from the files aren't posted here, which is really cool, they were posted on Discord with a spoiler cover but the mod recently put a stop to it. I think it's good people read the file and it's really helpful. I don't think DECA minds b/c no one is abusing it.
I'm sorry if I did something wrong. I emailed over the weekend and didn't think to check here first b/c I didn't know it was a problem. Sorry.

I had so much event currency that I couldn’t resist buying a Spectrapod on the first day. Today I was able to breed a second in the Rift using a Rift Mountain Sun. I’m now going to try to breed my two Spectrapods outside of the Rift to see what happens. I’ll report back if I have any success.

Has anyone actually bred Spectrapod? I haven’t seen anyone post about it here.
Yes, I bred one two. Didn't posrted it here because it is of no use for the community because they can't be cloned in coop
Yeah I realize it is rift only. It is just nice to know if there are many successes, how hard it is to breed, etc... Usually people are posting their celebrations and it has been quiet which leads me to believe there are more buys than breeds on this one.

I posted the odds a couple pages ago, but there's probably a better way to look at it:
For all the players who breed through the 10k attempts in the rift every day this dragon is available, about 30 percent of them will get the dragon. The other 70 percent will not breed the dragon, and will need to purchase it.
