On the last day of giving, the koalas gave to me! The lightmatter dragon. 🤩🥳
2 weeks of trying to get lightmatter rifted. Took the first week to get the pharaoh dragon rifted and just now got lightmatter. Now I can start saving essence for the next limited.
I gave up trying to remember how many fails between the breeding island, co-op and the rift (up to 20k per breeding attempt, do that math).
*flops down to the floor in relief* I’m gifting my traveling koala to who ever needs it today, but please give it back once you’re done as I will need it tomorrow for the new limited, whichever it may be.

I finally managed to get the timer for Solstice. I've been trying for that dragon whenever its available for years. And now I can finally add it to my collection. 🌞 ☀ 🌞

Aubergine is an evolve dragon. Tranquil is the first dragon that requires the Weather Station to breed it.

1. Am I right in thinking that Ruckus or Sailback would be the best choices for the sun dragon here? [Edit: or Solstice, with Solar Eclipse as a secondary option?]
2. Does having the cherry blossoms active count in the rift?

I can see why the breeding hint might be broken, so hopefully Deca fixes it soon. The breeding is defined as Serenity + any sun, with a 0 percent chance. And then an event filter that says if there are blossoms, change it to 3 percent. So the game is telling you it's defined as Serenity + sun, but your luck will be pretty bad trying it without the blossoms!
Social cloning this dragon as a base 1 percent chance. You're better off trying to breed for it if you have enough dragons to try in all three caves.
WARNING: Cherry blossoms are not sticking when the game reloads - you have to change it every time... :/
Deca has been asked to fix this so the event themes don’t override the Weather Station and Twilight Tower settings. Also, to allow the Cherry Blossoms to rain continuously (no Fireflies) for the next 14 days to assist players who don’t own the Weather Station.

I was wondering about this! I think it's really amazing that DECA used the weather station for tranquil that totally surprised me. They're comfortable enough with Dragonvale to do a brand new breeding rule. That takes some confidence! They seem to have a good grip on the game and how it works. But I think they're seeing how complicated it can be to have these types of rules. Unless they have blossoms on for the next couple of weeks people without the weather station aren't going to have much of a shot. Im glad you told them and I'll tell them too. This is good experience for them. Im glad they took the chance and made a new breeding rule with weather.

For Tranquil, the time of day doesn't matter, you 'only' need the blossoms falling (impossible without the weather station at the moment). For co-op parent cloning of Tranquil weather or time of day doesn't matter. If trying to parent clone Tranquil, because Serenity contributes Earth, Cold and Fire I would try one of those first. (E,C,F or Serenity)
The weather station is available for 10k magic in the market, so this dragon is available to everyone. It may mean balancing what dragons you can and can't get, but that's pretty common too with the lesser amounts of magic we earn and having to rely on being lucky with breeds to get everything. The twilight tower is also available for 6k magic.
I recommend players consider getting these, especially since this will not be the only dragon requiring specific weather to breed in this event...
