Still trying for Tranquil - there are a lot in co-op already. Having to remember to change the weather to blossoms is annoying, I've already wasted some breeds just resetting the dragons without changing.

I play Name That Egg and always do very well. The one I got wrong tonight, I am ashamed to say, the Fire dragon egg. I panicked for some reason, and there wasn’t even a timer on it.🤦♀️
And I must say I am not a fan of the two limited dragons we have had so far. They seem one dimensional, especially compared to Lunis, Stella and Solis.
The weather station is available for 10k magic in the market, so this dragon is available to everyone. It may mean balancing what dragons you can and can't get, but that's pretty common too with the lesser amounts of magic we earn and having to rely on being lucky with breeds to get everything. The twilight tower is also available for 6k magic.
I recommend players consider getting these, especially since this will not be the only dragon requiring specific weather to breed in this event... ;)

Even though players can purchase the Weather Station in the event market, Tranquil isn’t really available to everybody — not to newer players. The Weather Station and Twilight Tower are in the final tier, Stellar. This tier is locked until the player obtains 25 items from the event market. To reach 25 items, they will need to spend much of their time trying to breed epic dragons in the Limited and Solar tiers (there are only epic dragons available), and some of these epics have day/night (Twilight Tower) requirements. They’ll also need to spend much of their event currency on decorations or pedestals to acquire 25 items. Earning event currency is easy for long-time players, but new players don’t have a lot of habitats so they can’t reach the daily habitat cap. They also can’t complete donation cards because they don’t own all the dragons, or two of each dragon, or have a well-developed Rift. So obtaining the Weather Station and Twilight Tower to breed the new event dragons and many of the returning limited dragons is far more challenging for new players.
If Deca changed the event theme’s weather to Blossoms for 14 consecutive days, instead of switching it to Fireflies every 48 hours, this would immensely help players who don’t own the Weather Station. It seems like a fairly easy fix, but Deca may not think it’s worth it to make the change for two weeks.

I think Deca have really dropped the ball on this one. At the beginning of the event we had 48 hours of Night & Fireflies then 48hrs of Day & Blossoms, which was bad enough when we wanted to breed Lightmatter and it required a Day setting.
Now we have Daytime and Deca forgot to turn on blossoms.
I really feel sorry for newer players that don't have the weather station. They must be getting very frustrated with the game.

This might be a silly question, but is there a difference between “cherry blossom” weather and “blossom” weather? I can only choose blossom weather in my Weather Station.
Breeding Target: Ovalith. It's ALWAYS Ovalith! Hoarded gems as a safety net to ensure an Ovalith during BEB, but I'm not sure if I want to spend them: I think I want the thrill of breeding it! Gems wasted on speeding up Ovalith breeding/incubation: 2890

I understand, but on the flip side, if you make the weather blossoms everyday for the next 14 days then why have that as a requirement to breed the new dragon? It's similar to needing to have a specific, hard to get, dragon in order to breed something today. It might not be available at the time in the event, or it may be too far down in the locked sections for newer players. This dragon requires a weather station, and the dragon itself is still available for purchase.
I can also see the argument that every new dragon should be available to all new players, but in that case not just the weather station but the dragons required should be easily purchasable or bred. There were several limited dragons in recent events that I failed to even attempt to get in the rift because I never got the parent, and it wasn't available to breed at the time.

Cherry Blossoms and Blossoms are the same thing. The breeding hint says Cherry Blossoms, but the Weather Station icon reads Blossoms.
You must have Blossoms/Cherry Blossoms on in your park to breed Tranquil in the Rift.

So far there’s only been Fireflies, no Blossoms, so it’s making Tranquil quite difficult to breed unless you own the Weather Station. If this is the intention, because the Weather Station is a requirement to breed Tranquil, then it wasn’t a good idea to have Blossoms part of the event theme earlier, because it gave the impression Blossoms would return every 48 hours. If this is a glitch, and Blossoms does return, then owning the Weather Station isn’t a requirement to breed Tranquil. Only having Blossoms shower your park is required, which can be achieved through the event theme.

Every new event dragon is available to all players, because the Limited tier isn’t locked. The Weather Station is not easily purchasable in the event market for newer players, as I stated earlier. And newer players still have to breed or buy Serenity, so Tranquil isn’t simple to obtain. Having Blossoms on for 14 days isn’t giving new players an incredible advantage. It’s just offering them a chance to breed Tranquil for a couple extra days. As of now, there has been no opportunity to breed Tranquil for those who don’t own the Weather Station.
Quil, I appreciate your point of view, and one thing I’ve admired about you is that even though we don’t always see eye to eye, you are willing to discuss your perspective and don’t take it personally or take offence that our views differ. It’s helpful to me to see yours and other players’ positions. Occasionally, I’ll start a new park to see DV from a newer player’s outlook. The game is so different from a year ago, let alone eight years ago — it is always an eye-opening experience. But having your insight has been just as valuable because long-time players have very different viewpoints from other long-time players. So thank you for that!
