It appears DECA has changed the rewards scheme for the Colosseum. Today, instead of receiving any Gems, I got a notification that I won some kind of Bronze Medal & some Dragon Cash. Yesterday, I got only 2 Gems and was not asked to watch an ad. The Colosseum has been a steady source of 7 Gems daily (5 for selecting a Level 20 Dragon of the requested Element and 2 for watching the ad). This is gonna seriously hinder our ability to collect much needed Gems. I don’t like it.

If you receive bronze in the Colosseum, you don’t win gems, only DC. As far as not receiving an ad from the Colosseum, check this post, scroll down to the Colosseum section.
Edit: also, I’m not sure which dragons you’re putting in the Colosseum, but these are the top earners. I rarely receive silver (and never bronze) when using them levelled up to 20.

Thank you adlerist for the additional info. I’ve never received a Bronze before, EVER, till yesterday. I forget which element was requested but I did use an Elder. On rare occasions I have received a Silver, but not often and that was before I realized that the Level of the Dragon I selected was a factor. I always use at least a Level 20 Dragon or Elder of the Element requested. 🤷🏼♂️

I haven’t been bumped to Bronze, but I have had at least a few silvers using a level 20 dragon. Seems like ads changed about a month or two ago (I believe) - I’ve had a handful of days that there was no ad to watch, and this morning I only received one gem for watching instead of the normal 2. Seems like DECA tweaked the Colosseum and Race Track because I’ve also had a few races that I did everything perfect, picked the best dragon and still got silver.
I try hard enough to fill both 2,5k slots in the rift every time, but still no rifted Exandrew. I rather like the derp, but has anyone else been massively struggling with it?
(I've had the same issue with gemstone dragons every time. Outside they're quick enough to get, but whole months did not suffice for a "shiny" one. I'm positive they exist at least, as mystery eggs gave my two rifted amethyst.)
I bred Exandrew in the Rift with Blightwing + Porcelain and in the Vale with Bone + Sandstorm.
Yes, you’re correct. You can breed Gemstone/Crystalline dragons in the Rift. But they are more difficult to breed than hybrids and rare dragons. It helps to level up your breeding dragons to level 16. G’luck!
Thank you! I had managed a normal one outside very quickly, though I've given up on the rift version. Cloning Razzle/Sailback worked out today down to the exact rift trait, though, so I can't complain.
Why would I choose cash over gems in the coli, though?
At level 126 50g are valued at 796 million, so 16 million/gem. Getting silver once is -48 million. That's close to the same amount my park makes in a day.

I'm going to dip into the whine barrel here, due to the serious lack of Grove dragons in my park. 🍷
I've bred nearly a dozen Swamp dragons, a handful of Seaweed and a pair of Frond. Anymore of these little critters and I'll be having my own DragonVale volleyball tournament on the beach, with only Hanna and Oaris to watch the goings on.
Much koala and much whine over here. I want a Grove dragon. 🍷 🐨 🌿

I've cloned and egged (?) practically everything except Oaris, and have just the one. I've been trying for a day and a half - not the first time, either - but if anyone cares to jump in (can't seem to find anybody doing it), misery loves company and you're welcome!

I’ve only gotten a Bronze when I’ve put in a level 20 dragon and accidentally selected the wrong element. I also don’t view my Airship visions until after I collect from the Colosseum. When I open the game and wait till the Airship appears, or I wait until the Airship vision is ready to view, the visions always show in the Colosseum and I get the extra gems and DC.

I got Gold with my Elder dragon. I am Level 128. 50 Flowers, 1,247,999 Gold, 60 million XP and 5 gems. Watched a vision and received 623,999 Gold, 30 million XP and 2 gems. Flowers, gold and gems are exactly increased by the numbers mentioned. Not sure of the XP.
I have not watched the visions from Tozer. Tomorrow I will try again, having watched the visions, and see what happens.
EDIT: There was some confusion here. I went to watch Tozers visions after I collected Colosseum and he was not there. I put that down to me not remembering that I had collected from him earlier in the day, even though I couldn't remember doing so. He then turned up a few minutes later. So he was just missing, possibly because I had just watched a vision at the Colosseum.

It’s been a long time since I found out that Tolzar’s ‘Huey’ must be present in order to view ads. Since that discovery, I’ve always waited til it popped up before attempting to watch them. I always save collecting from the ‘Huey’ for the very last thing of my DV day.
