Deca completely flipping the Galaxy breeding rules on its head.
What's strange is nothing has changed in the data for breeding or cloning Glimmerwing. There is no breeding definition, and cloning has values for social breeding (20 and 1) and values of 0 for all other caves. If we can now breed the dragon outside of social, Deca has now changed something in their internal code that overrides the file definitions. I would also expect to get one cloned in the rift, but have not had that luck yet.
Looking for some clarification.....“Cloning” infers that you already have at least one of the target dragon to use in your breeding pair. Which also means that you need at least one rifted parent to “clone” in the rift. That has been possible outside of the coop since before Deca.
Are you saying that we are now able to breed for a Galaxy dragons (or “timed-out dragons) we don’t already have, outside of the coop? That would definitely be new.

They're saying smashing two galaxies in your rift together could result in a duplicate of either. I'm not sure what you mean by your second point in turn, though. Time limits are the same as before.

Using two galaxies as a practical example though, you still only need one.

It has been posssible to clone timed-out dragons outside of the coop before. If you have one expired limited dragon you can breed it with any other dragon in whatever cave and you have a small chance to get another one. (given that it is not an evolved dragon)
But this hasn't been true for Galaxy dragons up to now. Galaxy dragons in the beginning could only breed and could only be bred in the cooperative cave. Some time ago the rules where changed. At that point Galaxy dragons could be put in each cave. But the outcome would have excluded the Galaxy dragon itself unless the cave was the coop. Now this has just been changed another time: Yet you can put Galaxy dragons in each cave and if you do this the outcome might with a small chance be that Galaxy dragon. I don't know if this is true for all Galactic dragons or only for Glimmerwing.
Sadly this gives me no advantage in the rift. I don't have a rifted Glimmerwing, so I can't try to clone it in the rift. I only keep one rifted of each dragon type anyway. So there is no improvement in the rift for me with this new rule.
It would be very cool, if Galaxy dragons would get a breeding combination or could be bred like snowflake or monolith dragons with two of that type. But this is only a wish of me.

Ok.. thanks. That answered my question. From reading the original post it sounded like you didn’t need a like-dragon as parent for the one you were trying to clone. I have several rifted galaxy dragons but Glimmerwing isn’t one of them.

I agree, I also wonder if they need to gather age demographics for this game; my sense is it’s played by lots of adults, hence we enjoy downtime and watching our dragons, decorating islands, and are able to manage the ‘gotta have it now’ urge..which means their current lack of downtime between events is likely to alienate more mature players, who don’t need constant adrenaline rushes..and who like to BREED our dragons... following the hasbro path didn’t work, but they’re already veering close to it, IMO... just a thought...
I’m sure Deca keeps track of in-app purchases and players’ ages because BFS did this. Data is gold (just ask FB 😄), so games treasure this info. However, nobody except Deca knows how they use it.
Based on the DV subreddit, which has over 16,000 members, I’ve always had the impression that DV players, especially newer players are around 12-18. But regardless of age, Deca received a lot of responses to the short time between events from both long-time and newer players. Deca said they are planning on having more downtime in the future, but the DV Rep did not know how soon this would occur, or how often.
I hope it’s soon and often. Deca desperately needs to embrace mini-events between regular events, like a two-week long BEB, Twin Weekend, Shimmering Solstice, etc.
Actually that’s an excellent point about ages adlerist, my comment is solely based on this forum, and likely biased by especially historic players/forum members whose dry dry wit I just loved so much, those precious few mostly don’t post any more, and when I just now browsed through the in game friends thread, the types of posts seem to indicate younger players... so DECA and others would have to balance lack of patience/less $ and more/different enjoyment factors/more $, types of player demand maybe... tricksy my precious, tricksy 😈Gollum Gollum

As always, thanks so much to our learned erudite mods who keep us up-to-date and on-target so beautifully! 👏🏻😘
Also, as always, the penny drops later for me than for others i find 😂 ....so,
1. What is the best breeding pair (with fewest non-target fails) for getting Delicia in the co-op cave? 2. Best pair for epic & island caves?
i am confused about whether i am better off w/nightmare + Delicia in co-op or glimmerwing + nightmare in co-op mainly i think... ...did check sandbox but got more confused 🤨

Thanks! 😃
I was able to breed one in the coop using my Daydream and a friends Glimmerwing wasn’t a twin but it’s a start. That pair gave me the least fails some fails have really long timers. Not a easy dragon to breed. Koalas🍀🐨🦋 I believe someone said they used Nightmare /Glimmerwing in the Epic and got one. Hope that helps. Anyone else jump in.😃

BREEDING TIP: To fulfil the dream element and reduce the number of breeding fails, it appears Delirum (fire, earth, air), Nightmare (water, air, dark), and Elysium (earth, lightning, air, light) are the top dream dragons, only adding two elements when bred with Glimmerwing (earth, lightning, water, metal).
CLONING TIP: Delicia contains all 10 elements. As if that wasn’t discouraging enough, the odds of cloning in the co-op (e.g., your random dragon + a friend’s Delicia) is slightly worse than using the breeding combo (your Glimmerwing + a friend’s dream element dragon).
I would think it is like this 1) Glimmerwing + Delicia >> with this combo you'll get the breeding and the cloning chance 2) Glimmerwing + one of Nightmare/Delirium/Elysium >> breeding chance 3) Glimmerwing + any other dream element dragon >> breeding chance with more elements in the mix 4) Delicia + any other dragon >> only cloning chance
But I don't know for sure if the better chances from 1) are eaten up by the variety of outcomes because Delicia brings all 10 elements with it.

Ok... I’m doing the little happy-dance. I just confirmed that I bred a Delicia on my Epic Breeding Island using Glmmerwing x Nightmare. So it IS possible to breed it.
I do believe I just managed to do the exact same - same breeding pair on the island. Hooray!

Many thanks, crumble608 and dragonglow!🥰 Appreciate your responses... I will keep trying with my glimmerwing + nightmare in co-op & epic and delicia + nightmare in co-op 👍🏻

I have had nothing but long fails since I started trying for Delicia. I'm talking longer than twenty-four hours.
Then I somehow managed to breed an Apocalypse dragon while trying for Delicia. I checked the sandbox and it says 0.1% for Apocalypse and 0.2% for Delicia. And I'm like, "Really? One percent higher and I get Apocalypse instead?" 😖
So I'm just going to sit here and whine until Delicia eventually hears me and comes home.
We share our physical lives with those in spirit. For life, like love, never dies. Love knows no limits, not even death.

If you think about it, the odds for the Apocalypse are half the odds for the Delicia 🍷🍷🍷
I think we’re all getting long fails...I sure am.

DECA figured if they can’t put us over the edge with back to back events they would try with dragons that have long fails like Olympus, Dream and Platinum back to back.😳🤪🤦♀️ Yes I just had this.🥴 There are some wicked long fails with trying for Delicia.
Koalas everyone and keep the Tylenol handy.🥴

How many more dragons will we be getting? 2 or 3? Trying to plan my spending. I may just have to use a wish after the event for one of these event dragons... Hoping this whine will do the trick for me ☺️
******** My whine did work! Finally got a rift Delicia w/glimmerwing and nightmare Had been breeding everyday since she came out...all breedings up to 10,000 etherium Thrilled to finally get her, she is lovely!

I've had three delirium eggs in a row. Trying now with nightmare, at least I only have one of these.

If you do not own Delicia, here are the best breeding combos with the least number of fails (in order):
Note: there’s only a couple dragons separating these three dream dragons, so the odds are basically the same.
Since Delicia has all 10 elements, throwing many dragons into the offspring pool, Delicia + any other dragon has a lower chance of cloning Delicia than the above breeding combos. The only pair that has better odds than the parent breeding combo is Delicia + Delicia.

I thought this was odd too and over the last couple of days looked over data from several months ago for Galaxy dragon evidence that might show cloning changes since Glimmerwing hasn’t been altered — but to no avail. I did breed a traited Delicia in the Rift over the weekend (Glimmerwing (level 20) + Delirium (level 20) for those interested in the combo) but never cloned Glimmerwing in 47 attempts.

I have a heap of Galaxy eggs I need, so I have been breeding a Raylean with a Cereulean in the Coop Cave. I just got a Sorarian pedestal. Does this mean any 2 galaxies can breed any other galaxies?
