1. Animation quality: 5/5 2. Trait placement: 5/5 3. Size: 5/5 4. Price: 2/5 - geez 15k is expensive, even though I guess it makes sense for the final dragon. 5. How well Yarr fits the event theme: 5/5 6. Attention to detail: 5/5 7. How much I like yarr: 5/5 8. I usually don't like humanoid dragons but yarr was executed really nicely. I like how its fake clothing was implemented, I find the lore in its description neat, and I like the pirate map design on its egg. Nice size for a dragon pirate captain too. I just hope humanoid dragons stay very uncommon.

YARR DRAGON
1. Animation
It looks like it's trying to do too much. There's a lot going on, and I'm not particularly fond of the way it just takes off running then vanishes into thin air. With Zilla it has a point of entry (the sand it dives into and comes out of), but this thing just magically poofs for no reason. It honestly looks like choppy animation that was unfinished and could have been better. --- Giving it a score of 2.
2. Rift trait
Not bad. It adds color to the mane (I'm guessing that's fur but it also looks like a ragged cloak) without taking away from the main design. --- Giving it a score of 4.
3. Size (if you don’t own Yarr, please check a friend’s park)
Yikes, this one is rather big, don't you think? And when you put it in a Paradise habitat, it looks like a mountain rising out of the water. --- Giving it a score of 3.
4. Price (15,000 Doubloons)
Too expensive. Especially when you've got two dragons being released at once. --- Giving it a score of 2.
5. How well does Yarr fit the theme
It fits the theme, I just think it looks a little too human for my tastes. --- Giving it a score of 4.
6. Design details
Too human, too much like something ripped from Dragon City. I'm sorry, but I don't want my dragons looking like people. --- Giving it a score of 2.
7. How much do you like Yarr (1 = I hate it, 5 = I love it!)
Apologies again, but I really don't care for this one. Even Trove was better looking, because that one looked more like a dragon than Yarr does. --- Giving it a score of 2.
We share our physical lives with those in spirit. For life, like love, never dies. Love knows no limits, not even death.
Yarr 1. 5 2. 5 3. 5 4. 4 5. 5 6. 5, I really like the little constellation map, the red dotted path, and the barrel… 7. 5 8. As a lot of you, I wish it looks less human, although I still like the dragon itself.
1.) Animation: 4 (Good animation, but I don't like that the dragon literally walks outside of the habitat lol)
2.) Rift Trait: 5 (I think that the traits have the perfect percentage of coverage on this guy.)
3.) Size: 5 (I think the size of this guy is just right.)
4.) Price: 1 (Its extremely overpriced especially since there are two limited dragons available.)
5.) Theme Representation: 5 (It's a literal pirate. It fits.)
6.) Design Details: 1 (I think this dragon is designed well, however, I rather not have humanoid dragons in the future. Dragon City did that and I hate them for it. I just don't want more humanoid dragons with human clothes and human accessories)
7.) Likeability: 4 (This isnt a bad dragon, in fact, I like it quite a bit, its unique.)
8.) I think that this is a unique dragon, and I hope it stays that way. Its a fun pirate themed dragon, but I can't emphasize enough that I do not care for humanoid dragons with human apparel. It is one of the things Dragon City did and I despise them for it. Its one of the many reasons I stayed with Dragonvale. No hard feelings <3
1. Animation 3 2. Rift trait 3 3. Size 4 4. Price 2 5. How well does Yarr fit the theme 5 6. Design details 4 7. How much do you like Yarr 4
8. Comments/feedback for Deca: Can't get more pirate-y than a pirate dragon. Not a fan of the fake peg leg. I think the animations are definitely catering to the younger crowd.
3. Size (if you don’t own Yarr, please check a friend’s park): 5/5
4. Price (15,000 Doubloons): 2/5 It shouldn’t cost this much if you’re going to release 2 dragons at once.
5. How well does Yarr fit the theme: 5/5
6. Design details: 3/5 I think it would have better to not have the barrel.
7. How much do you like Yarr (1 = I hate it, 5 = I love it!): 3.5/5
8. Comments/feedback for Deca (optional): I don’t mind Yarr’s clothes because most of it looks like it’s part of him. The X marks the spot and constellation are really nice additions to the animation!
1. Animation : Yarr didn't need the barrel - that was Ikatako's thing. If he had to step in something, it could have been a pail left out from someone swabbing the decks. I like him leaving the habitat, X marks the spot where he's buried the treasure and he's running away so that he's not spotted by Trove. It does concern me that he falls off the island if the habitat is close to the edge - so far he has made it back OK.
2. Rift trait : 4
3. Size : 5
4. Price (15,000 Doubloons) : 4
5. How well does Yarr fit the theme : 5 He's a Pirate captain - what every pirate ship needs
6. Design details : 4
7. How much do you like Yarr : 5
8. Comments/feedback for Deca : I like Yarr, but agree with everyone else who has commented that he is too Humanoid. Would prefer that the dragons look less like humans and animals that we are familiar with.

We're so close to the end! Today I'm going to wrap up the Rate a Dragon threads by covering the two dragons I haven't already covered: Yarr and Enfis. In the spirit of keeping things in order, I'm going to start with Yarr first.
Time to get started!
1. Rate Yarr's animation quality:5/5
Well color me impressed! I think the Yarr dragon is the best dragon in the event when it comes to animations! Each and every one of the Yarr dragon's animations is full of life and personality! It hops and dances like a pirate, it can read the stars and constellations, it kicks its barrel around... it just goes on and on! The Yarr dragon is the perfect captain for any pirate crew, and it shows! Furthermore, all of the animations are incredibly well done despite their complexity. The person or people who animated the Yarr dragon deserve a lot of praise for their efforts. Excellent work in this category!
2. Rate Yarr's Rift trait placement and appearance:5/5
The Yarr dragon's Rift trait placement follows a similar concept as the Trove dragon did. While the Trove dragon had all of its beige parts affected by the Rift's magic, the Yarr dragon has all of its red parts changed in addition to its tattoos. As I previously stated when rating the Trove dragon, this consistent Rift trait placement makes for a solid design change that really flows with the rest of the Yarr dragon's natural look. It's an obvious yet not over-the-top Rift trait placement. It also looks good in just about any trait because of its harmonic display. I bet different traited Yarr dragons can easily tell each other apart because of the colors of their fur. A very nice Rift trait if you ask me.
3. Please rate Yarr's size:5/5
As anyone knows, the captain of the ship is the biggest, baddest pirate of them all. The Yarr dragon's size perfectly captures the foreboding feeling one might expect from meeting the mighty pirate captain face-to-face. I bet it has the strength to deal with any foes its crew may encounter, or maybe just throw a few Trove dragons off the ship. I wouldn't have it be any other way.
4. Rate Yarr's price (15,000 Doubloons):1/5
15,000 doubloons?! While the Yarr dragon doesn't take the title for the most expensive dragon in event history, it's still ridiculous. Seriously, 15,000 doubloons? At this point, this dragon might as well just raid everyone's doubloon supply like a true pirate would! I understand that the Yarr dragon was a part of the final set of limited dragons, and thus it would make sense for it to be the most expensive dragon in the event, but we've reached the unreasonable territory. The Yarr dragon may not be quite as challenging to breed as its predecessors, but players who don't breed it are going to have to pay a very hefty toll, especially if they struggled with any of the other previous event dragons and had to buy those as well. Sure, the Yarr dragon was available for an extra two days, but that doesn't really justify its high price tag.
And of course, how could I forget? The Yarr dragon's rating in this category takes another hit because of a glaring issue: it was a part of a double release, debuting alongside the Enfis dragon. Many players have expressed distaste for double releases in the past, and for a good reason. Having such an expensive dragon alone is already a huge deal, but having an additional dragon to have to try for as well? Yikes... I would highly encourage Deca Games to not do this again in the future.
5. How well does Yarr fit the theme of the event?:5/5
On a more positive note, the Yarr dragon gets a perfect score in this category! I don't need to explain why, do I? I'll let the dragon speak for itself here.
6. Rate the attention to detail in Yarr's design:5/5
Making a dragon that looks like the head of a pirate ship without making it look tacky is no small feat. After all, there are several important features of a pirate captain that must be included, and adding them onto a dragon without going the easy route of just slapping clothes onto it is especially challenging. I think the design team did quite well with the Yarr dragon in this regard! The "clothes" on the dragon are not real clothes, but just parts of the dragon that look like clothes. It's something that I appreciate a lot, as I said all the way back when I was rating the Ahoy dragon. The Yarr dragon really does play the part of a pirate captain, and its design showcases this wonderfully. I'm also a fan of how the dragon in general looks very tough and beefy, as any captain should be. This dragon packs a fair amount of muscle! Overall, the Yarr dragon's design fits the ticket.
Additionally, let's briefly mention the barrel on the Yarr dragon's foot. While this detail isn't exactly natural for a dragon to have, I think it adds a fair amount of charm to the dragon. I can imagine a Yarr dragon obtaining its barrel by accidentally stepping in one and being unable to remove it, or perhaps Yarr dragons have to earn them for being the best pirate dragons. I think it's cute, even if it seems unnatural for a wild animal to have. Also, when the Yarr dragon was first revealed, several people in the Discord server joked about how it probably stole the barrel from an Ikatako dragon. Cue our surprise and delight to find this referenced in the Yarr dragon's in-game description! I know I personally am a fan of dragons with lore that ties them together with other dragons. It serves as a nice way to tie everything in the Vale together.
7. How much do you like Yarr?:4/5
For those who may not have been there to witness it, the Yarr dragon was originally leaked by Deca Games on the official DragonVale Facebook page. When the Alure dragon first debuted, they accidentally posted a picture of the Yarr dragon instead of posting the Alure dragon's announcement picture. While this mistake was quickly reversed, the damage had been done. Everyone that had seen it managed to save the picture for future reference. Needless to say, when I saw the picture myself, I initially wasn't impressed by the Yarr dragon. It looked uncomfortably humanoid, something that I would expect to be in a different videogame instead of DragonVale. However, I decided I would wait to form a proper opinion about the dragon when it actually released and I had the chance to watch it in action.
I'm glad to have waited and given the Yarr dragon a chance. When it debuted in the game, the animations charmed me. I couldn't help but enjoy watching the dragon hop around in the Dragonarium, and even now, whenever I go to see my Yarr dragon in its habitat, I find myself smiling when it does any of its fun animations like checking the constellations in the sky. I also managed to get my Yarr dragon through breeding on my very first attempt in the Rift. This let me see what a traited Yarr dragon looked like, and I got to show it off to my fellow Discord players. Overall, I was pleasantly surprised as to how much I ended up liking the Yarr dragon despite it not making a good first impression on me.
However, I do have to withhold a point from the Yarr dragon for one thing: "good character design, not-so-good dragon design" syndrome. I already brought this up in my Rate a Dragon post for the Gawk dragon, so to sum up what I mean... the Yarr dragon has a good design on its own, but it doesn't quite hit the mark of what a dragon should be. However, it's for a different reason than the Gawk dragon. I think the Yarr dragon looks like it would be a unique NPC and not an entire dragon species. A lot of people have already pointed out how this dragon looks too human-like in appearance, and it acts more like a human than a dragon. It's a surprisingly nice dragon design for suffering from such an issue, but perhaps it could've been reworked ever so slightly. Maybe if its posture was different, it would've been better accepted by the community. For this, I have to give the Yarr dragon a 4 out of 5 in this category. I like it a lot more than I thought I would, but it's not perfect.
8. Additional feedback and comments
I still think it's incredibly funny that the Yarr dragon was accidentally revealed early because of a mistake on Deca Games' part. This is why you always have to double check what you're posting before you post it! That being said, perhaps something fun could be made out of this. In the older days of DragonVale, Backflip Studios would frequently post teaser images of dragons, often by showcasing their silhouettes across social media before releasing the dragon in-game a few days later. Maybe Deca Games ought to do something similar for their own dragons. Of course, don't showcase the entire design early like you did with the Yarr dragon! However, something small like a silhouette or a clue to the dragon's name would generate a lot of discussion and potential hype. I think this could help to make events a bit more enjoyable.
Alright, that's Yarr down! That means the last dragon I need to rate is Enfis. Stay tuned for that in a few hours!

Please rate on a scale of 1 to 5. 1 = worst, 5 = best. 1. 5 Very piratey! Kicking off the barrel is great. Also my rift habitats are very close to each other and Yarr really does a great job at entering and running across the next habitat. (animation quality) 2. 5 Don’t like the plant one, but I don’t like that in general. Got mine Metal traited, this looks well together. (rift trait placement and look) 3. 5(size) 4. 4 (I’m okay with the price for this dragon, but scored lower because of double release at the same time. (price) 5. 5 (fit with event theme) 6. 5 (attention to detail design) 7. 4 I really like this creation, but subtracted a point because it’s more of an antropomorhised animal than dragon. (how much do you like) 8. / (opt. additional feedback)
3. Size (if you don’t own Yarr, please check a friend’s park) 5/5
4. Price (15,000 Doubloons) 3/5
5. How well does Yarr fit the theme 5/5
6. Design details 5/5
7. How much do you like Yarr (1 = I hate it, 5 = I love it!) 4/5
8. Comments/feedback for Deca (optional) I don’t dislike Yarr as much as other people did but it could’ve been more dragon-like. There were so many cool designs from the contest I really wished DECA would’ve used more.
1. Animation - 5 - I love the fact that two Yarr dragons in the same habitat are at different points in their animation and not doing the same thing. Didn't notice the x path when he is in the habitat. Missed opportunity that he doesn't kick the bucket off the screen after he shakes it off, could have bounced off the edge and then gone back onto his foot.
2. Rift trait - 5 - Just the right amount, a rift and non rift look good together.
3. Size (if you don’t own Yarr, please check a friend’s park)- 4 - Maybe a tad big. Is he supposed to be the Captain? That explains bigger.
4. Price (15,000 Doubloons) - 5
5. How well does Yarr fit the theme - 5 - Especially if he's the captain
6. Design details - 5
7. How much do you like Yarr (1 = I hate it, 5 = I love it!) - 5
2. Rift trait - I would've liked to get one, but haven't had the luck (yet) - 4 - please make it easier...
3. Size (if you don’t own Yarr, please check a friend’s park) - just fine 5
4. Price (15,000 Doubloons) - it's a free market - kinda steep, though - 4
5. How well does Yarr fit the theme - 5
6. Design details - I didn't warm up to it that fast - 3
7. How much do you like Yarr (1 = I hate it, 5 = I love it!) - 3 I can live with it.
8. Comments/feedback for Deca (optional). You know, I could change my mind with a few minor tweaks... but that's just me. (Maybe if it looked a bit more like Johnny Depp & less like a bad guy)...
