@jacquirebriggs - Just send your two traited coldcoils over to the vale. With clone + breed chance right now you should get pretty easy.
I already got an untraited through my traitorous rift cave. With the same combo.
I’m switching to Valor + Aubergine so i can try for traited Ignis/Frons/Scout/Combustion.
I know the odds decrease, but it’s more painful to use recommended combo and have it never show up.
Hey. It works! No Scout or Combustion, but I've snagged Traited Ignis and Frons before I hit the first 10,000 Rift breed. After all the pain Victory, Apex and Whimisical pulled me through.
Now I'll settle down for today and figure what to do with Scout/Combustion.

Alright, here we go. I got my third plant trait Whimsical in the rift this morning. This time I decided to save it and move it into the main park. So now I can breed the two of them together and try for the untraited variety.

Frons is probably still annoyed about the fancy dress & is just being stubborn. (You’ll only get this @jacquirebriggs if you remember when Frons was just a simple leaf. I’m still not over it 😠🤣)

Yes, this is true. Deca could not keep Frons the Maple because it was another artist’s design. Apparently, it was suppose to be used as a concept, but was accidentally released. Deca notified the artist, and changed Frons.

You can breed Monolith dragons in the Rift. I think you may have misunderstood the purpose of the Monolith Egg of Mystery. Backflip created them so players can breed Monoliths in the Rift. If you purchase traited Monolith dragons from its mystery egg, you can start breeding the collection.
It’s identical to how the Monoliths work in the Vale. You must purchase a base Monolith dragon. If you refuse to obtain any Monolith dragons unless they’re bred, then you cannot breed the collection. In the same way, if you refuse to purchase the primary dragons in the Vale or Rift Market, you can’t breed any dragons.
Interesting and good to know adlerist - I didn't remember buying (or getting) a Monolith in the Vale. And I was also reluctant to buy the Monolith EoM, similar to Fletch_smf .
Collections that are contained within themselves, needing each other to be bred, like the Monoliths, Snowflake, Chrysalis, etc, will require players to obtain at least one or more of the dragons in the collection to start breeding them. It’s similar to the Market selling the primary dragons so players can begin breeding hybrids. Backflip chose to use the mystery eggs to deliver these limited collection dragons to the Rift. But it’s the exact same process of obtaining dragons to start breeding whether you’re buying them with event currency, DC, or Etherium and if they’re in a mystery egg or a market.

Uh... I heard rumors of Frons not contributing the Hidden Element. Someone in Discord said they tried 168 times trying to breed Apex with Frons and still didn't get it.
I contacted DECA about the potential bug and they just said it's just bad luck.
Is it really true that Frons is bugged or is it just bad luck?
That was Quil who posted the statement of 168 fails on Discord. Keep in mind, those 168 fails are spread out over two separate parks. The Discord rep brought up the topic and the post with the Game Reps and Deca. My recollection of last year’s Camp DV was there were players who used Frons + Valor to breed Scout, so Frons did not have a bug then (and yes, esme, I also made the joke that the downgrade of Frons’ lovely leafy image obviously stripped him of his epic element 🍁).
I’ve been having bad luck with Apex too using Minchi, while others are merrily breeding Apex by the dozens with Minchi’s help, so I’m in the same bad luck boat as Quil.

Everyone here seems to be having trouble getting Apex (traited or otherwise), and yet I got my own traited Apex dragon super quickly... the first day I tried for it in the Rift in one of the first few breeds! Sorry that I apparently stole all of the Apex luck, I swear I didn't mean it!
I'm not sure if this is a bug, or if Deca have designed it this way. If you don't give out your extra gems the first time you visit your park they vanish. I had left two gems to distribute later in the day, but when I've gone back to my park, they are no longer there. My dragonsai tree shows that there are still two gems to gift.
EDIT: One workaround for the device limit is to install DV on another device, open your park, and all the remaining gems will be in your Gifts ready to send.
Regarding the limit of gifting 21 gems daily per device, Deca will not change the limit during this event. They will look into it further if they raise the gem gifts in the future.

It throws this stone cave out, landing on a neighboring habitat, or out into space. Then Burrow crawls into and out of said cave.
It’s interesting, but IMO takes up way to large an area.
Burrow should….well…it should burrow, like into the ground, on its own habitat.

Thanks so much for clearing that up. I had a feeling it was something along those lines for why they changed Frons. I couldn’t make heads or tails of DECA’s explanation. Now I can see why.
It doesn’t change anything tho. It still makes me sad that Frons is gone and I’m always going to want the original design. I read the thread you linked from last year. Not gonna lie, still made be tear up a little. Especially that line in the title “time to roll up the sleeping bag, pack up the tent, and say goodbye to a friend.” It’s sad we had leave without him. Guess I’m never going to get over Frons. 🍁🥲🍁
Heh. Get a bonus XP thingy for today's login and since I'd been being lazy/forgetful and hadn't finished building all the Large Treasure Habitats I'd dumped event currency on last go 'round I went and did so... and *poof* suddenly I'm at the level cap. Wow those things give a ton of XP on completion and I didn't even click on them all either. Don't think I'll keep the rest around for next level increase, that sounds too much like work.
I finally managed to breed a rifted Apex using Karroot and Sandscale. And I also managed to clone a Burrow using Elder Earth - I didn't recognise the egg as being new and I nearly sold it.
Last few hours till The Last Call for the 1st Limited event dragon starts. You have till the dragon is released to sign up. And everyone who does gets a gem from me. :-)

This is one of my personal pet koalas. I only have two, but you can borrow this one for a while. 😊💕 (Yes, I brought out my koalas because I know it's almost time for the first limited dragon to be released. Always good to be prepared, you know.)
