2. Rift trait: 5, the way I like it (at least for contrast colors, not sure how earth and metal would look)
3. Size (if you don’t own Chuck, please check a friend’s park): 5, its fine
4. Price (14,500 Pinecones): 3, given that it's a limited and the parents were also hard to get, it was expensive.
5. How well does Chuck fit the theme: 5 he's not really a lumberjack, just a woodsman who whittles, and likes to hang out in the woods
6. Design details: 5
7. How much do you like Chuck (1 = I hate it, 5 = I love it!): 5 another good one!
8. Comments/feedback for Deca (optional): I second Adlerist's comments on choosing parents that have, at least theoretically, been possible to breed in the rift before the event, especially with so many long fails to tie up the other breeding places.
1. 5/5 High quality! 2. 5/5 3. 4/5 4. 3/5 5. 5/5. Of course it's a lumberjack, complete with plaid. Perfect idea. 6. 5/5. Every bit of its design is very well thought-out. 7. 3/5. Unfortunately it notably lacks that Dragonvale charm to it. It doesn't really scream "Dragonvale" to me. This is possibly due to its level of detail and more realistic proportions.

8. Comments/feedback for Deca (optional)Excellent job on dragons on the recent events.
Please rate on a scale of 1 to 5. 1 = worst, 5 = best. 1. 5 That’s some amazing wood carving! (animation quality) 2. 5 Subtle. Am glad they didn’t go for another full belly rift trait on this one. (rift trait placement and look) 3. 5 (size) 4. 4 It’s a lot for a non-epic, but it is a good earner and great animation, so this helps to make it somewhat worth its price. (price) 5. 5 (fit with event theme) 6. 5 (attention to detail design) 7. 5 (how much do you like) 8. Good choice on the parents, one can really imagine Chuck being a gene-mix from Combustion and Apex! (Although I didn’t manage to breed an Apex in Rift on time, so will have to try for rift next time.) (opt. additional feedback)
Love how the trait highlights the plaid (very important feature)!

Really like the woodsy, outdoorsy talents Chuck brings to the campsite. I also love how this dragon not only sculpts his masterpieces from wood (in a second), but is environmentally conscious as well and plants trees to replace the ones he’s used. Chuck is the Johnny Appleseed of the Vale.

Let's just cut to the chase. Or cut to the tree?
1. Rate Chuck’s animation quality:3/5
For the most part, I think the Chuck dragon’s animations are pretty good. I like how it carves logs, and it moves about how I would expect it to… for the most part. I don’t particularly care for how human-like its limbs are in terms of motion. It feels pretty jarring to witness its limbs just fly around the way they do. The Chuck dragon’s arms and legs move more like an action figure than a living creature.
2. Rate Chuck’s Rift trait and appearance:4/5
The Chuck dragon’s design is one that is deceivingly difficult to find a Rift trait placement for. It’s fairly simple, and yet there are hardly any places to put the Rift trait that wouldn’t look incredibly tacky. I do like where the Rift trait is now, though its subtle nature makes it hard to notice when paired with dark colored traits like Plant or Dark.
3. Rate Chuck’s size:5/5
A step up from the Chimmit dragon’s tiny size for sure! The Chuck dragon is large enough to be able to take down the tallest trees in the Vale!
4. Rate Chuck’s price (14,500 Pinecones):2/5
Ah, I’ve recognized the pattern for the prices in this event, and I’m not terribly on board with them. Sure, I personally didn't have to buy the Chuck dragon--or any of the limited event dragons for that matter--but for those who weren’t as lucky, I have no choice but to pity them. It’s a rare-class dragon, and yet it costs almost as much as Yarr, one of the last two dragons from Pirates in Paradise (which was also an Epic-class dragon). The Chuck dragon’s breeding combo doesn’t help its case either.
5. How well does Chuck fit the theme of the event?:5/5
As I mentioned previously with the Chimmit dragon’s rating, I really like the whole mini-theme with the limited event dragons, and how each of them represents a camping activity or skill. For the Chuck dragon, it’s a wood-carving dragon, which fits in with the whole camping vibe. Wood-carving is something scouts do, right? Either way, the Chuck dragon fits in with the Into the Wild event theme well.
6. Rate the attention to detail in Chuck's design:5/5
So the breeding combo for the Chuck dragon is Combustion + Apex, yes? Well, I can definitely tell visually! The Chuck dragon takes the prize for the dragon with the most visual similarities to its parents without being a complete recolor like the Blue Fire dragon. It fits the bill for being a descendant of the Combustion and Apex dragons for sure. Additionally, I think the traditional lumberjack plaid pattern is a nice touch alongside the other details like the axe tail and the sharp claws. A nice design visually.
7. How much do you like Chuck?:4/5
Like with the Chimmit dragon, I don’t really think about the Chuck dragon much. However, I actually like it more than the Chimmit dragon! It’s probably because I’m naturally inclined to like dragons with darker color palettes more, haha! I also think it’s pretty interesting in terms of design and concept! It doesn’t completely blow my mind, but I think it’s pretty cool.
8. Additional feedback and comments
I figured I’d mention it here; even if I personally find a dragon forgettable, that’s not necessarily Deca Games’ fault or a failure on their part! Sometimes, some dragons get overshadowed by other dragons in events, or they don’t make a huge impact at launch that makes them memorable. However, while it’s definitely good to try to make memorable dragons, there can’t always be winners. I just wanted to throw that out there so that no one gets the wrong idea. Besides, there’s a future dragon I need to rate that will definitely stick in my mind forever...
I had to take a dinner break, but I should be able to get through Chomp real soon! And then comes the big one... Wilderness.

8. Comments/feedback for Deca (optional): It’s always fun and interesting when a dragon looks like its parent, since that rarely happens in this game. So I don’t mind that Chuck looks A LOT like Apex. If it happened more often it could be a problem. It’s hilarious that Chuck carves Nogard and himself 😂
