I'm pleased that the new rift habitats have allowed me to get some of my rift dragons out of the hibernation cave - finally they are no longer in the dark. I'm going to use Bahamut and Tiamat to level these up, which will save some Etherium. 😊
I will purchase the new habitats as I can afford them. I have several wishes saved and will use some of them to purchase some Rift Habitats and get some more dragons out of hibernation. 😊
PSA: If you’re planning on taking advantage of the Expansion Extravaganza’s free removal of trees and rocks, be aware Islands 11 - 34 take 60 hours to summon. You’ll want to purchase the islands now, so they’ll arrive on time for free clearing. Kairos can also help you speed up the summoning process.

Thanks for the pic. It’s good to see the full layout.
I bought 2 new rifts habitats, they are already expensive when starting as you have to buy room/clear room. Anyway, each can hold 5 rifted dragons. Considering that I hold currently 870 rifted dragons in the rift hibernation I would need 174 more rift habitats lol. I try to get 2 rifted dragons of every dragon, if possible a normal and a twin, makes the mini game much easier as cloning is almost always guaranteed. And I don’t want to spend my etheriums too quickly. Btw those etherium rewards in the dragon track are ridiculous. Another point, it would be nice to being able to have the same number of gems and treats to give away ie 7 and 7 and not 6 treats and 7 gems.
So I am supposing the expanded rift clearing area and new habitats, as well as giant sun and moon habitats are permanently available features, not just what we can do in this week, like the regular island sale and free clearing, right? So we don't have to feel like we have to do as much as we can asap? My etherium and gem supplies took a big hit in the last event, and I'd rather build them up a little so I can have a little if I need it for breeding in the next event rather than start out the next event with no gems and no etherium (I already bought some gems in the last event, some of those darn limiteds were so stubborn!) I have plenty of dragoncash and don't NEED the giant sun and moon habs. I am looking forward to the extra rift income from new islands, (I was at an equilibrium where I could breed up to 5,000 and almost collect that much if I remembered to collect a few times, but not really able to save much toward the "I really want it" desperation breeds I sometimes find necessary) but am resigned to having to build it up slowly. (I tend to ignore the mystery eggs, once I got breeding pairs of snowflakes and monoliths, so their price isn't relevant to me.)
I'm in the same boat--I live etherium "paycheck to paycheck," using as much as I collect to breed up to 5,000 or even 10,000 each day. I started feeling rushed to get the new habitats as quickly as possible, but I suppose that's not necessary. I'll try to collect a few more times (forcing myself to open the game and ONLY collect in the rift to save time!), and maybe slowly get the new habitats. It's hard not to feel a sense of urgency! I am very much looking forward to having all of the dragons I need to use in breeding available and leveled up!
Is it too early to start advocating for a Rift 2? The original Rift is broken beyond repair because it is based on faulty economic assumptions. No matter how many dragons and islands you add to the Rift, you are only losing ground because of the income cap and will eventually run out of Etherium unless you don't buy anything. In the Vale you succeed by breeding more dragons and adding more habitats which compounds your income and makes it possible to buy more of everything. How many DV billionaires are in the game now compared to five years ago? The Rift operates in reverse with a fixed income stream and hyper-inflationary expenses. This is how revolutions are born in the real world. How long will it take for Deca to get the message? Repealing the Rift island income cap would be a great place to start. My 2 Etherium, now worth 0.08 Etherium because of wage controls and inflation.
PSA: Deca confirmed Vaul’s price of 11,111 Etherium is intentional
Thank you, Deca Games!
Happy Anniversary, everybody!
Don’t forget, the pedestal can be purchased for 715 Etherium. Vaul is a steal, or rather, a steel. Steel is the 11th anniversary gift, which DragonVale bases its anniversary dragons.
Does the breeding hint mean you need to include the dark element, or that the rift needs to be aligned to dark?
There needs to be a dark trait present while breeding. The dark trait can be from the alignment or from either of the two breeding parents. The only elements required are earth and metal.
🎃 All winners of The Spoiler Contest will have the animated ghosts on my mini-profile added to their profile for a month. G’luck! 👻
The 11th Anniversary dragon is inexpensive for something priced in Etherium, little more than one collection of 200 Etherium from 55 Regal Rift Islands. I like the dual-use tail. And if you rearrange the letters from Vaul to Valu, you can think of the dragon as even more of a good Valu.
For the first time ever, every category in my Dragonarium is now gold. My pedestal-arium is now complete with the purchase of a Woven pedestal. I was asleep at the wheel a year ago when Woven was last available. I am celebrating by giving the Vale a daytime theme and suspending the perpetual lightning storm for a day or two.
