• Dragon capacity of 30 • DC cap of 10,000,000 • 3,500 gems to upgrade
I didn’t see the upgrade at the Wishing Well. I’ve asked Deca about this, but no word so far.
EDIT: Update
Deca confirmed that the Omegatat cannot be obtained from the Wishing Well or Market. This appears to be an oversight because now there’s no description for the Omegatat in the game unless you already own it. How will players know what the upgrade includes, or if they even want it? Hopefully, Deca will put the Omegatat in the Wishing Well with the rest of the islands and island upgrades. The Game Reps have requested it.
Buttercup appears to be quite enthused about what it has done to the megatat. Earlier it had gotten ahold of one of my enchanted artifacts... by the time I had noticed, the dragon had already figured out its newfound power. Buttercup had decided to make an expansion to the Megatat without permission, and I certainly did not approve of the dragon's silly shenanigans. However, the Wizards seemed impressed by the outcome, and after consideration, have decided to keep the Omegatat to stay.
(Well, with your fluffy white fur and golden accents, Buttercup looks quite a bit like myself. Perhaps this is the reason why it decided to steal the artifact in the first place.)
i’ve been unable to login for over 12 hours. i’ve notified deca several times force closing hasn’t helped. i post here because i had been in the ap store to update and then the login failures started.

Hi adlerist , Yay for the expansion! I’m noticing that the rift habitats don’t seem to be on sale. That’s an error I think. Also would you please ask DECA to put the Miasmic Ether 50% off as well? Thanks!
The Rift habitats and Miasmic Ether clearing have never been on sale. The Expansion Extravaganza is only for the Vale; it doesn’t extend to the Rift. This is by design because the Rift currency does not include DC or gems, only Etherium. So the prices are based on how frequently players open the game and collect Etherium.

It is not clear if the Omegatat will be added to the Wishing Well. Before spending 3,500 gems, if you’d prefer to use a wish, let’s see if Deca will add it to the well.
If you are thinking about using gems, please wait until we receive clarification on the price. Currently, the Omegatat costs 3,500 gems during the Expansion Extravaganza, which means it’ll be a whopping 7,000 gems next week after the sale concludes. This is so completely out of line with the game that it appears Deca forgot to reduce the price to 1,750 gems. So, if you’re thinking about saving a wish and using gems, please wait until the price is corrected.
I’ll keep everyone updated on the Omegatat when we receive word from Deca. Thank you!

Thanks for the update on the megatat upgrade, adlerist! I almost birthed my own dragon when I saw the 3,500 gem cost! I immediately went to Wishes… and it wasn’t an option! Aaaarrrgghhh! I’m glad you asked Deca to include it; hope that happens! Since I’m already whining a bit, I have to say I’m disappointed to just have 1 new island. As a greedy Dragonista, I wanted 3.
For three years, the Game Reps have been pleading with Deca for multiple standard islands during the Expansion Extravaganza. The topic comes up quite frequently. We’ll keep asking, but they seem to be focusing on the needs of new players. It is very important for Deca to concentrate on these players because retention is more challenging with this population. But hopefully, late gamers and their needs will be added to the conversation soon.

AACommander on Discord posted an image of the Omegatat!
AACommander also provide screenshots of the description, since it’s not visible in the game unless you own it.
I absolutely love the concept and design of the Omegatat with bridges of land to new extensions — brilliant! I can’t wait to see dragons roaming and discovering the hidden valleys of the new upgrade.
It appears that the Omegatat is weirdly off to the side. It’s quite large and doesn’t fit in the square gargantuan-sized island space. It would be better if the Megatat/Omegatat were in a different area of the Vale. Then, we could have a fourth, much-needed, gargantuan-sized island to make the lower part of the Vale symmetrical!

If it’s a matter of Deca wanting to make the Omegatat harder to obtain I would be OK with having to use two wishes to obtain it rather than part with so many hard earned gems.

Is there a good reason why Deca is pushing the Megatat/Omegatat island format instead of providing more than one additional normal sized island? The 3,500 gem price is outrageous at any game level and I am not buying.
Does anyone know what the back-end server structure for DV looks like? Does Deca own their own servers or do they rent space on a third party server like Amazon? Is it becoming prohibitively expensive for Deca to add more standard sized islands in terms of server cost? Is this an issue at all? Just wondering. One new standard island is better than none at all, but two or three new standard islands is obviously better than one.

Too late! 😉 I went on a spending spree this morning and bought Island 36, the Omegatat and the overgrown island. No regrets.
A wise person once told me that I can't take my gems with me. 😉
Thanks for posting pictures of the omegatat adlerist! I’ll never earn enough gems to buy it, and it would cost me $125 to buy the gems on sale. So it’s nice to at least have a picture of it… 🤗
Upgrades can’t be obtained by using wishes, so far. I need more space to store decorations. I managed to buy two upgrades now, but the next upgrade costs 500 gems on sale, and I am back on zero gems, so I have to save gems until the next expansion extravaganza. Sigh.

That is a very wise thing to say, indeed!
To be honest, you were the last person I’d expect to spend gems. Especially 4,000+ gems. Merry Xmas! It sounds like your holiday shopping started early.
I’ll likely be spending around the same amount because the new Hibernation Cave and Storage Tower upgrades are very pricey. Together, they cost 3,300 gems. Lots of different ways to say goodbye to gems this week! 💸

I don't need any Hibernation Cave updates, so I'll save some gems there. Yes, they do get very expensive the more you upgrade them.
Now I need to decide which dragons to put in the Omegatat. Perhaps Burrow – the way he throws his burrow around he is going to injure a visitor one day and then there will be an expensive lawsuit; Pollenizer - his enormous flower won’t look so out of place; Cherrie - more room for the tree; Yarr – he doesn't like to stay confined to his habitat; Waterwalker – he can practise his hiding animation. There are probably more that would suit the Omegatat environment.

When I first saw this post from Noodles, I thought “YES! Great suggestion!”. Then I thought “Oh no, don’t encourage Deca to raise prices even more.” But the more I thought about it, the more I realized I WOULD be happy to use 2 Wishes to get this upgrade. So, I’m back to “Great suggestion, Noodles! “

Well, I do intend to take my gems with me and sit on my cloud or in my fire pit playing DragonVale to infinity and maybe beyond.

It might sound blissful, but when your game won’t load, g’luck trying to contact support from that long, long distance. Might as well enjoy the gems in today’s earthly glee.

So I have two questions, to which I don’t expect anyone to actually know:
Since it has been said that upgrades are not available through wishes, do we think DECA is not going to add the mega Omnitat to the wishing well?
Do we think 3500 gems is the half price and next week it will be 7000? I know this is pretty much what everyone has been asking, I just thought I’d add my voice too.

Lol! I hoarded gems for a long time like everyone else. It was fun just to see how many I could get. But then I was like, you know I could actually get things and make my park nice, or speed up breeds and finish my collections, or use gems and save wishes for other things. It’s pretty easy to earn gems if you’re patient, and this game gives you lots of time to be patient.
Can’t take them with you, it’s so true. And if DV shuts down, ugh! I want to know I made the most of the game and my park. No regrets!

Deca hasn’t confirmed that the Omegatat will never be wishable. For players who refuse to spend gems, it’ll affect them because they’ll never obtain the Omegatat. But it’s not critical to gameplay, it’s an acquisition for endgamers. And who knows, if not this week, maybe in the future Deca will add the Omegatat to the Wishing Well when some of its newness has worn off.
3,500 gems is the full price. So you don’t have to worry about paying more. But I highly doubt anyone would’ve paid 7,000 gems to add 15 dragons to an island. Most people won’t pay 3,500. It appears there was an error, and the Omegatat’s price tag was not reduced for the Expansion Extravaganza. Or, Deca may decide that the Omegatat is this weird exception that for some reason never goes on sale. Or they may lower the price this week and reimburse players the difference.
If Deca provides a concrete answer, I can post about it. But until they do, it’s probably best if players didn’t buy the Omegatat, unless they're okay with the price tag. I’d hate for someone to purchase it, and then become upset because days/weeks/months/years later it’s in the Wishing Well or costs 1,750 gems during an Expansion Extravaganza.

Deca has confirmed that the Omegatat will not be added to the Wishing Well during the current Expansion Extravaganza. There is no confirmation that the Omegatat will be added to the Wishing Well at a later date.
The full price for the Omegatat is 3,500 gems. It is not 50% off, and the price will not be reduced this week. It may be on sale during future Expansion Extravaganzas.
Sorry it’s not better news, everybody.
