It’s the final 12 hours of the Holiday Scavenger Hunt!
The dragons have been unleashed upon the Forum. Can you find all 12 in the next 12 hours?
🎼 On the twelfth day of Christmas, my true love sent to me:
12 Yule time carols
11 Twinkles twinkling
10 Sleighbells a-ringing
9 Sugarplums dancing
8 Snowball snowmen
7 Lokilures lurking
6 Venture adventures
5 M y s t e r y E g g s
4 flickering Flickers
3 French Gifts
2 Mistletoes
and a baby Fire in a Dragonsai tree 🎶
Everybody, thank you so much for playing the 12 Days of Vale Holiday Scavenger Hunt.
You have made this season jolly and bright!
May you find a dozen different dragons on this final day.

Yule is hilarious. I love how he falls off the present. The best one was saved till last!
I totally agree! THIS ONE is my fave animation lol. I love how Yule falls off in slow motion 😂
I can’t wait until all 12 are released! It’s gonna be WILD!! Dragons everywhere!
Yule’s animations is one of the best in the game. It’s creative, humorous, and gives Yule personality — it is a gold standard.
And because of this, Yule is the reason why I decided to have only the day’s featured dragon in the scavenger hunt for the first 12 hours. I figured by day 12, if all 12 dragons are available, there’s a good chance many would never see Yule roll off his present ball. And that would be a tragic miss.

Changing the dragons from one to all the previous dragons was a really great move adlerist! I liked finding the one dragon, then getting to look for more later. It also gave a second chance for people who missed a day, so they could see the animation of the dragon.
It was also fun not knowing what you’re looking for because you’re surprised when you see it. I just got a mystery egg! I hadn’t found a mystery egg since the 5th day and had forgotten about it so it was a nice surprise.
Having the dragons animated was really cool! It did make them a little easier to find but it totally made the scavenger hunt more exciting and fun. I really enjoyed seeing all the dragons bouncing and rolling around, I think I made that kinda obvious lol. It was an amazing and my fave part of the scavenger hunt!
I completely agree - this was a wonderfully organised event - from the 12 different findables, to the 12hr split, to the awesome animations - thank you so much for putting this together, I've really enjoyed it.
My favourite memory from the vault is when one old member made their reappearance after a year-long hiatus, to the dismay of another member who had been faithfully sending them gems every day!

Thank you so much, Adlerist, for some fun times after Christmas. I am new to the forums so this was quite amazing to me. I trudged through thousands of forum pages, calendar days and members summary pages. Thankfully, 32 minutes after hour 16 on day 11, I found the forum page with the toolbar hint to help find pages with gifts on them. Until then, sometimes it was quite challenging and frustrating! I learned a lot going through old forum pages and finding old members pages who haven’t been on in 6 or 7 years. I must admit, though, when I found the toolbar helper, I sang your praises and had to make myself stop searching to cook and clean and do all the other daily chores.
My favorite was Yule with Sugarplum coming in a very close second. Before I found the toolbar helper, I really, really disliked the mystery egg and the partridge in a pear tree. So again, thank you Adlerist and whoever took the screenshot of the toolbar location to post in the forums. You have made the last 12 days enjoyable.
I wish everyone health and happiness for the New Year and look forward to whatever you bring to the forums next!

This was fun! I started off on a good roll, but then life got in the way and I missed two days. Still happy I broke 2000 though. Managed to find 7 of the 12 this last day.
Great job to all who played along!

Oh, I’m so sorry you didn’t know about the prize detector! It would be extremely difficult and frustrating to play without it. Just so you’re aware, when a scavenger hunt begins, I always post an introduction / instructional post for the hunt on this Scavenger Hunt thread. It explains the mechanics of the game, the helpful prize detector, and the leaderboard. I’ll link this post with images of the toolbar to the instructions for the next scavenger hunt.
I must say, you did mind-blowingly well without the prize detector!

HERE ARE THE 12 DAYS OF VALE HOLIDAY SCAVENGER HUNT WINNERS
All the dragons have been tallied from your collection stocking — we have one repeat winner and four new Scavenger Hunt winners! The top five players for the 12 Days of Vale Holiday Scavenger Hunt are… drum roll…
1. dawnieburleigh with a stunning dragon-sized collection of 5,024 dragons takes first place
2. joie1974 with a wizarding 3,464 dragons is our remarkable second place finisher
3. NinjaKiwi. smoothly and swiftly tapped up an astonishing 3,250 dragons
4. dragonglow amazingly does it again with 2,976 dragons — that’s two wins in a row
5. grammydragon demonstrated insane scavenger hunt skills with 2,333 dragons (and didn’t even use the prize detector for almost all the dragons finds! 🤯)
The winners have been forever emblazoned on the Scavenger Hunt Hall of Fame on the first page of this thread!
As stated earlier, the collection totals were taken from each player’s mini profile. The leaderboard can be out of sync, as it tries to keep up with all the hunters, but the mini profiles are always accurate. If you have any questions or concerns, please message me. Thank you again for playing the game, finding so many festive dragons, and spending your holidays with us. Many cheers to all our members!
May your year be bright and glorious!

You did an amazing job not using the prize detector…..Wow!👏 Even with the detector it can be challenging.
Congratulations to all the winners! Those are some impressive numbers!
If the thread is still open later, I’ll post some of my fave pics from the scavenger hunt. The dragons were so fun to find and I loved their animation it made this hunt a step up from the last one, but they were both really amazing for different reasons!

Thank you so much Alderist for a fun 12 Days of Christmas. The amount of work to set it all up would have been enormous. I spent hours looking for those bouncing babies and even though the last few days there was a glitz of some sort I was able to reach my target. Was fun reading some of the old posts from years back too. A safe, happy and healthy New Year to you all.

Adlerist, I read the rules and I searched what I thought was the toolbar and until I saw the screenshot with it in the bottom right corner, I just searched at the top of the page. I don’t know how I missed it but I was only looking up, I guess 😂
Thank you adlerist for another fantastic Scavenger Hunt. It really was spectacular. I enjoyed finding a new dragon every day with the previous dragons making a comeback after twelve hours.
Congratulations to the winners - some real dedication shown to achieve those numbers. 🏆
What? It's over already ... I miss seeing my little red stocking...(Just kidding. I know it ended today at reset, but I do miss seeing the little red stocking of how everyone is doing.. )
To echo everyone, thank you so much adlerist for such a fun activity and fantastic set up. One of the days, I spent probably at least 3 hours nonstop, looking through the thread of "Introduce Yourself", where I learned a lot about the founding non-active members. I am so impressed with their stories and their art work.

Congratulations to the winners! You all did excellent work finding all those dragons and assorted goodies.
I tried my best, but to be honest, I've always been one of those people who struggles with the holidays. So I gave it a go then quietly slipped into the shadows. Maybe next time.

I miss the scavenger hunt already 🥲
I clicked on the leaderboard and there’s nothing there anymore 😢 And I keep looking at the bottom right corner of the screen to see if the prize detector has found a dragon on the page 😄
It’s going to take a while before I get out of the habit of looking for the prize detector!
Thanks so much for putting it together and pulling it off adlerist! I know all those animated dragon GIFs must’ve been a lot of work. But they were so worth it! 🐲

To celebrate the DragonVale Community Forum’s 10th anniversary, we are relaunching the SCAVENGER HUNT!
Find as many eggs as you can, and the top five players will be immortalised on the Scavenger Hunt Hall of Fame on the first page of this thread.
Also, we will be declaring a new winner! The first person who collects all the different Easter dragon eggs and correctly names them in this thread, will be added to the Hall of Fame!
START AND END DATES
Starts: April 6th at the daily reset of DragonVale
Ends: April 11th at the daily reset of DragonVale
HOW TO PLAY
Easter dragon eggs are randomly dispersed all over the Forum. Just read the Forum as usual, or click around and scroll away to find the eggs. There are a variety of different eggs and they will all be available every day.
On your mini profile, there is an Easter basket to store the eggs you found. The mini profile will keep track of how much you’ve collected. Currently, it’s displaying an egg with a question mark because any of the eggs can appear. If you click on the basket, a message will show confirming your egg total.
When you find an egg, click or tap it. It’ll be added to your basket and this pop-up will show
NEW ADDITION TO THE HUNT
The first person who finds all the different dragon eggs and correctly names them on this thread, will be added to the Hall of Fame!
PRIZE DETECTOR
After you find 5 eggs, you will unlock the prize Detector. Since the Forum has thousands of pages, and many are very long, it would be extremely tiresome to scroll through page after page looking for eggs with little to no reward. The Detector will be immensely beneficial and help you find even more eggs.
In the lower right-hand corner of your screen, there is a toolbar. If it’s hidden, click on the small arrow to expand it (on a tablet or phone, you may need to tap several times before your device responds). When you’ve unlocked the Detector, an animated icon will appear on the toolbar.
The Detector has two images: activated and deactivated. The activated image is a collage of 10s. If the Detector is activated, that means there is an egg on the page. The deactivated image is an animated '0' with a black background. If the Detector is deactivated, that means there’s no egg.
If you click on the Detector icon in the toolbar, the following animated images will display.
No egg on the page
Yes, egg is in sight!
TIP: Once you collect 5 eggs, click on the Scavenger Hunt leaderboard (more info on the leaderboard below) so it syncs your total, then the Detector icon will show in the toolbar.
The Detector will save you from spending your days scrolling through lengthy pages. There’s no time for that — it’s already been 10 years!
HOW MANY EGGS WILL FIT IN AN EASTER BASKET?
There will be a random number between 1-15 eggs for you to find with each visit to the Forum. So if the Detector hasn’t alerted you in a while, your basket may be full and you’ll need to revisit.
Whenever you open a page, there may or may not be an egg hiding. You can find an egg on the Home page, open a thread, then return to the Home page and an egg may be there again. There’s only one egg per page, so no need to keep looking; the Detector will turn off. Almost any page can have an egg, including a reply on a thread or message.
LEADERBOARD
On the navigation bar, click on the Scavenger Hunt button and you’ll see how many eggs your fellow Valers have collected.
The leaderboard can fall out of sync with the mini profile after several hours. It will sometimes show an incorrect, lower amount. If you collected a small amount of eggs, after several hours of inactivity, you may no longer be on the leaderboard. In addition, sometimes a 'null' value will show instead of the collection count.
If there’s a discrepancy between the count on your mini profile and the leaderboard, or if you’re no longer on the leaderboard, or if the leaderboard shows 'null' instead of your amount finding a couple more eggs will resolve the issue and sync the leaderboard with your mini profile. Please be aware, the leaderboard amount could decrease again, after several hours of inactivity. However, your mini profile is always keeping an accurate track of the number of eggs you’ve found. Therefore, at the end of the Scavenger Hunt, the totals from the mini profile will be used to determine the winners.
To prevent your mini profile and the leaderboard from falling out of sync, please follow the instructions below.
IMPORTANT
To ensure your egg count is not disrupted
1. Do not use the back button after you find an egg or after opening the leaderboard. Try to use the Forum’s buttons and links. (It’s fine to use the back button to read and navigate the Forum, just refrain when you’re doing scavenger activities.)
2. Do not open another tab when there's a collectible egg on the first tab, unless you’ve already collected the egg.
3. Do not let an egg sit on the screen (it’s gonna rot!). Gather it as soon as you spot it, or ignore it, but don’t scroll back to find it or collect it later.
Any of the above or similar actions results in stale data and can corrupt your egg count and other members’ egg counts.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Please use this thread to make any posts about the Easter Egg Scavenger Hunt. Let us know how you’re doing, if you’re experiencing any problems, and to provide any suggestions. Keep everyone updated on your egg collection!
As always, you must be viewing the Forum in its desktop version to participate in the hunt. If you’re on a mobile device, just click Desktop in the lower right corner of the page. You’ll also need to be a member (the leaderboard can’t keep track of your eggs as a guest). Membership is free, only requires an email, and takes mere seconds — so jump into the hunt with us, we’d love to have you onboard.
If you don’t want to play, you can ignore the eggs. However, if that proves to be difficult or if the eggs are too distracting and you’d prefer to not see any scavenger content, please message me.
Many cheers and happy egg hunting!

So, the how does the identification of the eggs work? I just found a flowerhop on this page. Do I post now or do I find all the different eggs and then post? How do I know when I have found all the different kinds that are in the scavenger hunt?
