I was missing a traited Undau, Fluffles, and dearly beloved Davinese. Managed to breed traited versions of all three. I have absolutely no complaints.

Hello there , i don't post massively on this forum and if this is in the wrong section please please move this post .Now i'm a long time player who is basically trying to complete my rift collection of dragons. Have all twins bar sf7/ new limited all twin pedestals bar those 2 as well. Now before Deca took over i think i got my rift dragons needed down to under 10. Now since the thankful takeover and keeping the game going by deca i've managed to keep whittling away at the rift dragons i need(it fluctuates quite significantly obvs with the lack of BEB and dragons not being available for a year and there are only so many mystery eggs you can buy)but i can't for the life of me get the rift dragons i need to go any lower than 13. So what I'm asking are there players out there(not using mods or generally cheating)who as of yet haven't used ANY of their RUNIC to collect dragons that are below 13 rift dragons needed. Thanks for your help
Many long-time players are missing around 12 traited dragons because there are currently 12 dragons that have never been breedable. It used to be over 20, but we’ve had several events with permanent golden hybrids and Deca just released 6 never been breedables.
Unless a player received traited-twin versions of these 12 dragons from a mystery egg, or claimed them from the RBCs, they would not have a traited version. Each new event invites 3 more unbreedable dragons and releases 3 previous unbreedables, so we’re in a constant holding pattern unless Deca releases the dragons outside of their events, or we get lucky with mystery eggs, or the RBCs roll around more frequently.
With the current event’s RBCs and the release of the Eggciting and Spectacle dragons, we’re getting closer. After this event, I expect a lot of long-time players will only need a handful of dragons traited or have all the dragons traited.

The daily rewards event calendar is much shorter than usual. It’ll be complete 10 days before the event ends. Unless it’s extended, I wouldn’t anticipate a Runestone from it.
10 days? So there probably will be a runestone. In fact, I’m wondering if the last gift is a runestone. That would not be cool for the newer players who can’t claim a tough to breed dragon they didn’t already have. We will have to see. 10 days makes me think runestone because they generally give 3 days at the end and you could still have it active for 7 days.
Nah, they wouldn’t give a Runestone as the last gift and upset new players.
I don’t want anyone to get their hopes up about a Runestone from the daily rewards event calendar. I know we’ve had them in the past, but that doesn’t mean it’ll occur every time the RBCs are in the game.
As I said before, unless there’s an alteration to the calendar, I wouldn’t expect a Runestone from it.

I’m also a long-time player. I started playing shortly after Dragonvale was first released. And, other than a short break due to a hurricane, I have been an active player.
I’m missing 121 traited dragons. I just recently used the Rune Caves to acquire a traited Snowball dragon. Due to it’s availability, it took me two years to get a traited Woolen dragon...finally got one during this event. I still haven’t had success getting a traited Starshine. That’s why I resorted to the Rune Caves for the traited Snowball.
My performance in getting twins is even more dismal than traiteds. I just don’t seem to have a lot of success in the coop. I get maybe two or three successful breeds there, twin or not, during each event. So I have to plan on using event currency to get at least two dragons and their pedestals. Getting a twin is a windfall, and vary rare.
I do my share of purchasing from the dragon market, but I get a LOT of duplicates. And the in-game egg awards tend to be for a dragon I already have.....so it’s challenging.
On the other hand, I do have all the collections and all of the “evolved” dragons. In fact, other than the dragons I’m working for in this event, I have all of the dragons in one form or another....and I have all the ghosts.
Two things that I find frustrating are that ALL of the new dragons are time “limited”. And even the new “breedable” ones seem to have BEB breeding odds.
That said, the point and challenge of the game is to breed dragons.
Adlerist and MinyaZ, thank you for sending the koalas, especially the über-cute Joey, but they must be taking the long way round to my parks; that wretched Twinkle needed to breed whatever it is I need to breed whatever it is that I need to breed Glitz remains elusive. Days and days of breeding and my parks are looking very Snow bound with no Twinkle in sight. So sad. 🥺
BTW Adlerist, thanks for the We Bare Bears memes, I adore Ice Bear, and I’ve been watching it when breeding makes me too sad cos Ice Bear rolling in money always makes me smile.

Thanks to your “Dragons you should be breeding for” spoiler, I have Rift versions of all of them now. I was able to get each of them before I needed it and finally got a traited Snowball today. Being able to breed for new dragons in Rift is a huge advantage. THANK YOU!

Thanks for the heads-up, minyaz, but nuts. Just today I finally got the event dragons I need in the rift, and tomorrow I was going to start trying for those past-event dragons in the rift, before a new one comes on Friday. Looks like I missed the (circus) boat, but at least I didn't waste tomorrow's rift breeds on unavailable dragons, so thanks!

I need 12. All of those except two haven’t been able to be bred in the rift yet. I don’t have Khamsin as I haven’t tried (will come as a fail for some thing else) and I was unable to breed Heavy Metal when it was here even though I used every single rift breed for 7 days. I will not be using the runic caves this time for any rift versions instead I am selling off my twins and twin rifts to get 5 hard to get twin pedestals that I have on my list. I really wish you could pick what you get as this isn’t a great feeling selling off dragons I collected already. I was able to breed Pyrite, Jet and Garnet in the caves so that is 3 off my list. I will also have to buy back my twins with 5 choices if I want to keep my blue fire. Twin rifts will come eventually again… With events back to back and always having some dragons that haven’t been released to be bred in the rift the runic caves are usually the only time some players will have all the rift versions since you can breed the usual 3 non limiteds there. Of course your list would have to be less than 7 to start out and you would have to get the limiteds while available to even do that.

Just curious, shouldn’t the cold island theme be in the prize market to purchase with ice berries?
Deca has not been adding the element island themes to the event market. And now they’re creating a lot of new island themes, so they may not want to have older, permanent ones competing.
But the Wonderland theme has returned, and there is a lovely new Polar Bear (Winter) theme to select.
If you’d like to see an island theme in the market, just let me know at the start of the event, and I can always ask.

A thought ... Double Days are good to breed Primary dragons with their Opposite dragons at a Runic cave, in order to get those 10 primary dragons, and receive those 100 berries.

I just breed two of the same primaries like Metal + Metal. It guarantees you get the primary dragon and 100 iceberry bonus with no fails. It’s nice, you breeze through the primaries really fast.
Since the 100 iceberry bonus doesn’t increase on double days, I don’t think it matters much if you breed them on a regular day or a double day, just keep the RBCs occupied with nonstop breeding. 👍

I do the same. As an added tip, if you have Ghostly dragons, breed two of the same Ghostly primaries. Ghostly Plant + Ghostly Plant can result in Plant and Ghostly Plant, whereas Plant + Plant will never result in Ghostly Plant. Might as well breed both the Ghostly and regular primaries for more bonus Iceberries. Same with the Ghostly versions of the permanent hybrids (not the limiteds, unless they’re available and don’t have a locked breeding combo, like Trinket). If you need Lava, try Ghostly Lava + Ghostly Lava.
I usually breed the permanent hybrids and primaries last, as they can be potential fails for other dragons.

Thanks to everyone for all the twins I've been sent! I've been pretty close to Blue Fire for a lot of the time I've been away, and have actually hit it a couple of times. I think about three quarters of the twins I've checked off the checklist have been sent to me by forum folk (forumers? forumites?) so many many thanks, literally couldn't have done it without y'all.
Anyway, on topic, I come with the tale of woe that has been my attempts to breed a Rift Glitz. I was in a good position to start, with traited Yanghis and Jadice actually ready (this breeding chain gets worse every year! I can hardly imagine being new to the game and seeing it, it must look nigh insurmountable). I had a feeling on day two after my normal attempts (through 5k) that it was going to be one of those dragons and decided to burn my Etherium stash on it. I begin spending my way through the 20k breeds. Still no Glitz, day after day. I barely register the newly breedable bunch of returning event dragons, I'll be getting several of them from the Runestone Caves anyway, it's fine, I have bigger fish to fry. Today, the last day of availability. I throw everything I have at it. I traverse new depths of Etherium spending I'd never reached before. 150 total attempts this week. On attempt 150, oh, that egg! Finally! A Glitz!

I’m so glad you’re back! Even if it’s for a flash. I had the same untraited trouble with Weaver, I think it was. But eventually it came around with a trait. If we can’t breed traited dragons in the Vale, then it stands to reason, we shouldn’t be able to breed untraited dragons in the Rift. It’s untraited nonsense!
